The Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), based in Chandigarh, India, is one of the constituent establishments of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). It was established in 1984. The institute is engaged in research in many areas of modern biological sciences and microbe-related biotechnology, with special emphasis on research that is interdisciplinary and of a collaborative nature, such as immunity and infectious diseases, protein design and engineering, fermentation science, microbial physiology and genetics, yeast biology, bioinformatics, microbial systematics, exploitation of microbial diversity for bioactives and enzymes for biotransformations. Present Director is Dr Sanjeev Khosla, and former directors were Dr Anil Koul, and Dr Girish Sahni.

The Sanitary Garden or Kala Sagar (lit. 'ocean of art') is an art exhibition in Chandigarh, India consisting of sculptures made from toilets and other sanitary items.The garden is a unique government museum where the world's largest collection of art created purely from damaged or discarded sanitary items is exhibited. The collection of artworks was created by the artist Vijay Pal Goel, who founded the project in 1998. The Sanitary Garden is situated in sector 36-D, Chandigarh UT, India.The main objective of the project is to generate mass awareness for the reuse of waste materials for environmental protection and to establish a tourist place for disabled people such as the mentally challenged, visually impaired and physically handicapped. The artist was honoured by the Governor of Punjab with the prestigious State Award on Indian Independence Day in 1998 for his contribution to the field of art.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is the department of engineering and technology of Panjab University, Chandigarh which is recognized as Tier-1 institute by NIRF. It receive funds from central government of India offering undergraduate (BE), postgraduate (MTech degree) as well as doctoral courses.

Panjab University (PU) is an Indian collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on 1 October 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University. The main administrative and academic buildings are located in sector 14, beside a health centre, a sports complex, hostels and residential housing.

Garden of palms is a theme based garden located in Sector 42 in the city of Chandigarh. Built at a cost of Rs. 5 crore, the garden boosts of 21 different varieties of palm trees.The Garden of Palm in Chandigarh has been developed on an area of 19.50 acres. It has rivulets, benches, huts, cycling track and eating joints. The garden was inaugurated by KK Sharma, Advisor to UT Administrator in July 2015.

Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium is a cricket stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali, Punjab. In March 2010, the Punjab Cricket Association announced that Mullanpur village of Mohali is going to have an international standard cricket stadium spread over 41.95 acre at cost of Rs 230 crore (29 million USD).

The School of Communication Studies is an institute for Journalism and communication studies in India which is a part of the Punjab University located in Chandigarh (India). The School began in 1941 in the University of the Punjab, Lahore (now in Pakistan),;it is the oldest institute of mass communication in South Asia. The School was founded by P. P. Singh, who studied journalism in the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, United States and later established the institute.

Garden of Springs, Chandigarh, is a park situated in Sector 53 of Chandigarh, India. It was inaugurated on 10 December 2015 by Chandigarh UT adviser, Vijay Devon.
