Fort Washington is a census-designated place and suburb of Philadelphia in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,446 at the 2010 census.

The Upper Dublin Friends Meeting House is a Quaker meeting house located at the intersection of Fort Washington Avenue and Meetinghouse Roads in Upper Dublin Township, Pennsylvania in the United States. The building was constructed in 1814 on land donated by local resident Phebe Shoemaker. The graveyard of nearly one acre contains the graves of many of the township's most notable early families. Bean's 1884 History of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania makes mention of the horse-block (a step for mounting or dismounting from a horse) that can still be seen at the Meeting House: "About twenty yards from the front-door is a horse-block, of stone, consisting of five steps to the top, four and a half feet from the ground and three and a half feet wide, now so rare as to become an object of interest to the antiquary."The Upper Dublin Friends Meeting is a thriving congregation, with Meeting for Worship every Sunday at 10 a.m., and is part of the Abington Quarterly Meeting of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends.

Jarrettown is an unincorporated community located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The community is in Upper Dublin Township, 2.2 miles (3.5 km) east of the Borough of Ambler and 2.75 miles (4.43 km) southwest of Horsham. Jarrettown is located at the intersection of Limekiln Pike and Jarrettown Road, approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) north of Limekiln Pike's intersection with Susquehanna Road and 1.3 miles (2.1 km) southwest of Jarrettown Road's intersection with Pennsylvania Route 63. Bean's 1884 History of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania describes Jarrettown as follows: Jarrettown is the second largest village, and is situated near the centre of the township, on the Limekiln turnpike, which was constructed in 1851. It contains a hotel, store, a three-story Odd-Fellows' Hall, two-story public school-house and twenty-one houses. The post-office was established here in 1866. Gordon in his "Gazetteer," mentions this place in 1832, as containing five or six dwellings. The name of the place was derived from Levi Jarrett, the owner of several farms in this vicinity in 1815. In 1776, John Jarrett was assessed for two hundred and thirteen acres. The name of Jarrett, like those of Fitzwater and Dresher, has now become extinct in Upper Dublin.

Camp Hill is an unincorporated community that straddles Whitemarsh Township, Upper Dublin Township, and Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located approximately three miles outside Philadelphia, the area played a role in the Revolutionary War.

The Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women was one of the first horticultural schools to be established by and for women in the United States, opening on February 10, 1911. As the second institution to provide women with a practical education in horticulture and landscape architecture, it made possible their entry into a professional field. Although some men were employed in faculty positions, the school's leadership was intentionally female. As of 1919, the board of trustees consisted of twenty-five prominent women citizens.: 134  All but the last director of the school were women.The school played a "unique role" in women's history and garden history. Members of the school were instrumental in the establishment of the Garden Club of America (1913), the Woman's National Agricultural and Horticultural Association (1914), the Woman's Land Army of America (1917),: 134–135  and the publication of the Farmer's Digest. It served as a national and international model for other institutions, such as the Keisien School in Japan.In 1958, the school merged with Temple University Ambler and became co-educational.

Temple University Ambler is a suburban campus of Temple University. The Ambler campus is located 30 minutes outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. While its postal address is in Ambler, Pennsylvania, it is actually in Upper Dublin Township. It has 2,950 undergraduate and 962 graduate students, with a 3:4 male/female ratio (60% female). The campus is 187 acres (0.76 km2), including the Landscape Arboretum, and includes two residence halls. On campus, there are 30 student organizations. The campus offers 21 bachelor's degree programs—8 majors and 13 minors—as well as one associate degree program.

The Great Train Wreck of 1856 occurred in Whitemarsh Township, Pennsylvania, between Camp Hill station (formally know as Sandy Run, Camp Hill, Sellwick and finally Fellwick station before being closed in 1996) and Fort Washington station, on July 17, 1856. Two trains, traveling on the same track in converging directions, collided, killing between 59 and 67, and injuring over 100. The incident was referred to as The Camp Hill Disaster in Montgomery County, and The Picnic Train Tragedy in Philadelphia. It was the deadliest railroad catastrophe in the world up to that time and became one of the signature events of its era.

Skip Wilson Field is a baseball stadium in Ambler, Pennsylvania. It is the home field of the Arcadia University baseball team which moved to the ballfield in 2018.

Dresher (previously Dreshertown) is a community in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The population was 5,610 at the 2000 census. Because Dresher is neither an incorporated area nor a census-designated place, all statistics are for the ZIP Code 19025, with which the community is coterminous.

Lindenwold Castle, also known as the Mattison Estate, is the former personal estate in Ambler, Pennsylvania, United States of asbestos magnate Richard Van Zeelust Mattison (1851–1935) of the Keasbey and Mattison Company. It was designed by Milton Bean and built in 1890.

Fort Washington station is a station along the SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown Line. The station is located at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Station Avenue in the Fort Washington section of Whitemarsh Township, Pennsylvania. It is also served by SEPTA Bus Routes 94, 95, and 201, as well as OurBus intercity buses to New York City. The station includes a 585-space parking lot. Originally built in 1903 by the Reading Company, it was rebuilt with high-level platforms in 2010. In FY 2017, Fort Washington station had a weekday average of 1,125 boardings and 875 alightings. The first train from the station leaves at 5:32 A.M, while the last train arrives at the station at 1:10 A.M. The station is considered a major station on the Lansdale/Doylestown Line because most of the express trains stop at this station, before skipping many other intermediate stations on the line. Only one train, an express from Center City Philadelphia to North Wales skips this station. During the morning and afternoon peak hour, many trains operate to Center City as expresses, proceeding direct from Fort Washington station to Temple University station. Throughout midday, and the later hours of the night, most trains are locals.

Fellwick station was a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Located near the intersection of Camp Hill and Walnut Avenue, Fellwick was a station on the R5 Lansdale/Doylestown Line. Opened originally in 1855 as Sandy Run, Fellwick station was the site of the Great Train Wreck of 1856, which claimed the lives of approximately 60 people. The station was renamed to Camp Hill in March 1884, then changed to Sellwick on February 16, 1931 because the White Hill station in Camp Hill was renamed to Camp Hill. The station was later renamed to Fellwick. SEPTA closed the station on November 10, 1996 as part of several service cuts due to low ridership; that year the station only averaged eight riders per day.
