Drama (Greek: Δράμα [ˈðrama]) is a city and municipality in Macedonia, northeastern Greece. Drama is the capital of the regional unit of Drama which is part of the East Macedonia and Thrace region. The city (pop. 55,593 in the 2021 census) is the economic center of the municipality (pop. 58,944), which in turn comprises 60 percent of the regional unit's population. The next largest communities in the municipality are Choristi (pop. 2,725), Χiropótamos (2,554), Kallífytos (1,282), Kalós Agrós (1,178), and Koudoúnia (996). Built at the foot of mount Falakro, in a verdant area with abundant water sources, Drama has been an integral part of the Hellenic world since the classical era; under the Byzantine Empire, Drama was a fortified city with a castle and rose to great prosperity under the Komnenoi as a commercial and military junction.During the Ottoman era, tobacco production and trade, the operation of the railway (1895) and improvement of the road network towards the port of Kavala, led to an increase in the population of the city and to the enhancement of commercial activity.Drama hosts the "Eleftheria", cultural events in commemoration of the city's liberation, at the end of June or beginning of July, and an annual film festival in September.

The Church of Hagia Sophia or Holy Wisdom (Greek: Ναός Αγίας Σοφίας) is a 10th-century Byzantine church in the town of Drama, Greece.

The Archaeological Museum of Drama is in the city of Drama in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. It was built by the Municipality of Drama and inaugurated on 12 December 1999. Its exhibits display the cultural history of Drama prefecture from the Middle Palaeolithic to 1914. The oldest finds, bones and stone tools, come from excavations in the cave at the source of the River Angitis (50,000 BC). It also displays tools, jewellery and pots from the prehistoric settlements of Sitagra and Arkadikos (6000–4000 BC) from the Early Bronze Age (many of the pots), the Late Bronze Age (finds from graves at Potami and Exohi), and from the Early Iron Age (pots, weapons, tools, and jewellery from graves in the industrial area of Drama). The museum also has examples of Attic pottery (6th and 5th century BC); a marble bust of Dionysos, which constitutes the earliest evidence of his cult in the wider area; a hoard of coins of Philip II from an excavation at Potami; and other finds from the ancient settlement of Drama (4th century BC). Most items from the Roman period (such as the bronze statuette of Zeus) are from the city of Philippi, though some are from other areas (such as the grave stela of Tiberius Claudius Maximus, which was found at Grammeni). The Early Christian period in the area is represented by coins and pottery from the settlements at Drama and Philippi. The most characteristic of the few monuments of the Byzantine period are a stone sundial with engraved hours (1069 AD) from the Palaiohori area; and pottery, coins, and jewellery from Drama, Adriani and Ksiropotamos. The museum also displays a hoard of Ottoman coins, icons and architectural members from post-Byzantine churches, and a number of photographs of Drama and the surrounding area prior to liberation in 1913. Sculptures (votive monuments, architectural members, grave monuments) from the ancient period to the time of Ottoman rule are displayed in the covered atrium.

The Folklore Museum of Drama (Greek: Λαογραφικό Μουσείο Δράμας) located in Drama in northern Greece was launched by the Lyceum Club of Greek Women in recent years. It is a project to classify and display its considerable collection of costumes and artifacts of the folk culture of Drama and the wider area. It has devoted a large part of its new, privately owned premises (three floors) to an exhibition of the collection.

Drama railway station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Δράμας, romanized: Sidirodromikós Stathmós Drámas) is a railway station that serves the Northern Greek City of Drama, in Drama in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. The station is located 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) (25 Min walk) south of the settlement but still within the settlement limits. The neoclassical station building (as of 2021) is unstaffed.

Choristi (Greek: Χωριστή, before 1927: Τσατάλτζα – Tsataltza, Bulgarian: Чаталджа – Chataldzha) is a town in Drama municipality, Drama regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace region, Greece. The town is located about 8 km southeast of Drama and has a population of 2,725 (2011 census). The elevation is approximately 98 m.

Vathylakkos (Greek: Βαθύλακκος (meaning "deep ditch"), Bulgarian: Ко̀вица, Ко̀вища, Turkish: Kovitsa) is a village in the Drama regional unit, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region, northern Greece. It was formerly known as Kovitsa (Greek: Κόβιτσα) until 1927. Its population is 42 (2021). The village is part of the community of Monastiraki within the municipality of Drama.

Ftelia is a village in the Drama regional unit, in northeastern Greece. Its population is 828 (2011 census). Ftelia means "elm tree" in Greek. The village is situated 9 km to the south of the city of Drama in Macedonia, Greece. It is part of the municipal unit of Kalampaki. Many of the village's residents are descendants of Greeks who fled from the Northern Thrace region of Bulgaria during the Balkan Wars. Ftelia has a kindergarten. It also has a football team, "Aris Ftelias", which competes in the prefecture of Drama amateur division.

Drama (Greek: Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Δράμας, Perifereiakí Enótita Drámas) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace. Its capital is the town of Drama. The regional unit is the northernmost within the geographical region of Macedonia and the westernmost in the administrative region of East Macedonia and Thrace. The northern border with Bulgaria is formed by the Rhodope Mountains.

Doxato (Greek: Δοξάτο, formerly Δοξάτον) is a town and municipality in the Drama regional unit, in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Kalampaki.

Kalampaki (Greek: Καλαμπάκι, formerly Καλαμπάκιον) is a village and a former municipality in the Drama regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Doxato, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 81.064 km2. It is 12 km to the south of Drama. The Kalambaki municipal unit consists of the villages of Kalampaki, Ftelia, Agia Paraskevi, Kalamonas and Nerofraktis. Most of the population is employed in the agricultural sector, with tobacco, corn and cotton being the main products. The population of Kalambaki consists mainly of descendants of four population groups, Pontus Greeks, Greeks of Eastern Thrace, Greeks of Asia Minor (mainly from Cappadocia, whose ancestors spoke Turkish but were Greek Orthodox Christians in religion) and Greeks whose ancestors had been living in Kalambaki already before the Treaty of Lausanne (1923) was ratified. In the vicinity of Kalambaki Roman milestones have been discovered indicating that the ancient Via Egnatia passed very close by. Every year on January 18, the feast day of Saint Athanasius, a religious festival named the "Kourbani" is held in Kalambaki. It is possibly the Christian equivalent of the Muslim Kurban. During this day a dish consisting of veal in a type of wheat known as pligouri is produced and shared among the participants in the festival.

Sitagroi (Greek: Σιταγροί) is a village and a former municipality in the Drama regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Prosotsani, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 62.890 km2. Population 3,240 (2021). The seat of the municipality was in Fotolivos. It is also the location of an important archaeological site from the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age.
