Central Visual and Performing Arts High School (formerly Central High School) is a magnet high school in St. Louis, Missouri, part of the St. Louis Public Schools. Founded in 1853, Central High School is the oldest public high school west of the Mississippi River, although it has moved several times and merged with a magnet school in 1984. Central VPA specializes in the arts, with students taking courses in three art majors, including visual art, musical art, and performing art, with focuses on ceramics, drawing and painting, photography, instrumental music, vocal music, dance, and theater.

Cleveland Junior Naval Academy (also known as Cleveland High School) was a magnet military academy high school in St. Louis, Missouri and was a part of the St. Louis Public Schools. Cleveland High School opened in 1915 as a comprehensive high school, merging with the Junior Naval Academy in 1984. The Junior Naval Academy was a magnet military academy, founded in 1981. In 2006, the school moved from its original location on Louisiana Avenue (38.5777°N 90.2429°W / 38.5777; -90.2429) to the Pruitt Military Academy building on North 22nd Street, then, in 2010, it moved from Pruitt to the Southwest High School building at Arsenal and Kingshighway. In 2021, the St. Louis Public Schools board voted to close the location effective the upcoming school year.

Southwest Garden is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, located south of The Hill and Forest Park Southeast, west of the Missouri Botanical Garden and Tower Grove Park, east of Lindenwood Park and Clifton Heights, and north of North Hampton. Bisected by Kingshighway Boulevard, one of St. Louis’s major arterial roads, Southwest Garden is named for its proximity to the Botanical Garden. The neighborhood is notable for its architectural heritage, containing two National Historic Landmark Districts: Shaw’s Garden, containing the portion of the neighborhood between Kingshighway and the Botanical Garden, covers a tract of land formerly owned by Garden founder Henry Shaw. This area is notable for its highly intact collection of multifamily residential buildings (primarily duplexes and fourplexes) dating to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Reber Place, located directly west of Tower Grove Park, which contains a diverse mix of frame homes, multifamily buildings, and bungalows dating to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.In addition to the Botanical Garden and Tower Grove Park, other notable locations within the neighborhood include: The St. Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center, a 196-bed psychiatric hospital operated by the Missouri Department of Mental Health on a 32-acre (13 ha) campus on Arsenal Street in the southern portion of the neighborhood. The campus includes the former St. Louis County Lunatic Asylum, designed by architect William Rubold and completed in 1869. The Romanesque Revival building is adorned with a prominent 200-foot (61 m) tall cast iron dome. Situated on the highest point in the city, the structure can be seen from up to 30 miles (48 km) away. Sublette Park, a neighborhood park including a playground, a pavilion built by the Boy Scouts of America, tennis courts and a soccer field.The neighborhood is covered by St. Louis Board of Aldermen wards 8, 10 and 24.

Festival of Nations is a free, multicultural public event, held yearly, organized by the International Institute of St. Louis in Tower Grove Park, a city park on Grand Boulevard, featuring food booths of many ethnic cuisines, dance, music, arts, crafts and an international bazaar.

Seiwa-en is a Japanese strolling garden located in the Missouri Botanical Garden, St Louis, Missouri, in the Midwestern United States. At 5 ha (14 acres), it is the largest such garden in North America. It features a large lake, modest traditional buildings, bridges, islands, carp, dry gravel landscaping, and other symbolic features. Planning for the garden began in 1972, and it was dedicated in May 1977. Seiwa-en was designed by Dr. Koichi Kawana, a professor of Japanese architecture and landscape design at UCLA. He was originally from Hokkaido island in northern Japan and taught ikebana, a Japanese style of flower arangment in his spare time. Dr. Kawana was a pioneer in the design of traditional Japanese gardens that integrate local or native plants into the garden's structure. He designed more than one dozen Japanese style gardens in America after becoming a US citizen in 1971; Seiwa-en is his largest work. The garden contains a Japanese maple tree planted as a gift to the garden by the Emperor of Japan on a visit to St. Louis. There are also Japanese cherry trees planted near the garden's entrance that bloom in spring.

Mamma Campisi's, formerly Oldani's and commonly known as Mama's on the Hill, is a restaurant in St. Louis, Missouri, which is located on The Hill, which is the "Little Italy" in that city, and one of the premier sources of Italian Cuisine in the United States.It was founded in 1939, by Leopold Oldani, and is credited with the invention of toasted ravioli, which is considered a key example of St. Louis cuisine. It was renamed Mama Campisi's in 1982, and continued under that name until 2005, when it was closed down. It was reopened in 2006 by Lance and Andrea Ervin and it eventually became the center of an episode of Restaurant: Impossible. It was also featured on an episode of the Travel Channel's Man v. Food, hosted by Casey Webb, in December 2017.

North Hampton is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Located in Southwest City, North Hampton is bounded by Scanlan and Connecticut to the north, South Kingshighway Boulevard to the east, Chippewa Street to the south, and Hampton Avenue to the west. Two smaller neighborhoods make up North Hampton. The Tilles Park neighborhood occupies the area from Hampton Avenue to Macklind Avenue, and the Kingshighway Hills neighborhood occupies the area from Macklind Avenue to South Kingshighway Boulevard.

The Missouri Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located at 4344 Shaw Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri. It is also known informally as Shaw's Garden for founder and philanthropist Henry Shaw. Its herbarium, with more than 6.6 million specimens, is the second largest in North America, behind that of the New York Botanical Garden. The Index Herbariorum code assigned to the herbarium is MO and it is used when citing housed specimens.

The Hill is a neighborhood within St. Louis, Missouri, located on high ground south of Forest Park. The official boundaries of the area are Manchester Avenue (Route 100) on the north, Columbia and Southwest Avenues on the south, South Kingshighway Boulevard on the east, and Hampton Avenue on the west. The Hill began with immigrants from Northern Italy, Germany, Ireland, and African-Americans who wanted to live near the railroad which connected the neighborhood to downtown. The vast numbers of Italians migrating to the area resulted in an Italian American majority population during the early part of the 20th century. Historically, it is a predominantly blue collar neighborhood. Its name is due to its proximity to the highest point of the city, formerly named St. Louis Hill, which is outside the neighborhood's boundaries, a few blocks south, at the intersection of Arsenal Street and Sublette Avenue. The intersection borders Sublette Park, the former site of the Saint Louis Social Evil Hospital built there in 1873, where Josephine Baker was later born. Adjacent to the building of the former St. Louis County Lunatic Asylum built in 1864, now a rehabilitation center.

Tower Grove Park is a municipal park in St. Louis, Missouri. Located on the south side of the city, the elongated 289-acre (117 ha) park extends 1.6 miles (2.6 km) from Kingshighway Boulevard east to Grand Boulevard. The park’s predominately residential surroundings include the neighborhoods of Southwest Garden, Shaw, Tower Grove East, and Tower Grove South. Both Tower Grove Park and the neighboring Missouri Botanical Garden were part of the estate of 19th-century businessman and botanist Henry Shaw. In 1868, Shaw donated the land for the park to the city of St. Louis.
