The Carolina Opry is a musical variety show located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The 1962 U.S. Women's Open was the 17th U.S. Women's Open, held June 28–30 at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Murle Lindstrom, age 23, won the title for her first LPGA Tour victory, two strokes ahead of runners-up Ruth Jessen and Jo Ann Prentice. The first of her four wins on tour, it was the only major title for Lindstrom, later known as Murle Breer. Defending champion Mickey Wright was a co-leader after 36 holes, but fell back on Saturday morning in the third round and finished five strokes back in a tie for fourth. Wright had won three of the previous four years; she won her fourth U.S. Women's Open two years later in 1964. Jessen led after each of the first three rounds, but a final round 80 (+8) dropped her back.Thirty professionals and eleven amateurs made the 36-hole cut at 166 (+22) or better; the low amateur was JoAnne Gunderson at 313 (+25), tied for fifteenth place.

Ocean Forest Country Club, also known as Ocean Forest Hotel and Country Club, is a historic country club and hotel located at Myrtle Beach in Horry County, South Carolina. The club and hotel were designed by an influential New York architect, Raymond Hood (1881-1934) and is an unusual example of Classical Revival architecture. Construction of the club began in 1926 and was completed in 1927. In addition to the hotel / club building, a 27-hole golf course was built in association with the club. It was designed by Robert White, a golf course designer and future president of the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The present 18-hole course dates to 1946.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Myrtle Heights–Oak Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Myrtle Beach in Horry County, South Carolina. It encompasses 89 contributing buildings and one contributing site. They relate to the period of residential development in Myrtle Beach following the financial collapse of Woodside Brothers, the company that developed the Ocean Forest Hotel and Country Club in the late 1920s. The Myrtle Heights section was opened in 1933 and the Oak Park Section was opened in 1935. The majority of these oceanside residences were built between about 1925 and 1945 and are two-story frame buildings, many of them with one- or two-story attached garages, two-story detached garage apartments, or one-story attached servants’ quarters. They reflect a variety of popular architectural styles, the most prevalent being Colonial Revival. Also represented are the Classical Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow/Craftsman styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium is a 6,500-capacity [1] multi-use stadium located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The stadium is named for Doug Shaw, Sr., the long-time coach of the Myrtle Beach High School Seahawks football team. During his reign on the sidelines, his Seahawk teams went to the AAA state championship game five years in a row, winning the title four times. The stadium is used for football, soccer, and track & field. It is the main venue for rectangular sports in Myrtle Beach but has been displaced by Brooks Stadium as the largest stadium in Horry County for those sports. It remains the county's premiere track & field venue. The field surface is FieldTurf.

It bordered the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, Kings Highway, Oak Street, and it was in very close proximity to residential neighborhoods and many oceanfront hotels. Its size, for the time, was quite large with a total area around 442,965 square feet (41,152.8 m2) set on 48 acres (190,000 m2) of land. The parking lot contained more than 2,800 spaces.

The $250 million attraction is set on 350 acres (1.4 km2) in the heart of Myrtle Beach and features three theaters, over 20 restaurants and over 100 specialty shops as well as attractions, Clubs for the night, and hotels, all surrounding the 23-acre (93,000 m2) Lake Broadway. Broadway at the Beach receives upwards of 14 million visitors annually.
