Krásnohorské Podhradie (Hungarian: Krasznahorkaváralja) is a village and municipality in the Rožňava District in the Košice Region of middle-eastern Slovakia. The town has a relative Hungarian majority and a Slovak and Roma minority [1] Archived 2007-09-27 at the Wayback Machine. The town is dominated by its namesake, the iconic Castle of Krásna Hôrka.

Rožňava District

Rožňava District (okres Rožňava) is a district in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was mostly part of the county of Kingdom of Hungary of Gömör és Kishont, apart from the area in the south-east around the municipalities of Silická Jablonica, Hrušov, Jablonov nad Turňou and Hrhov which formed part of the county of Abaúj-Torna.

Slovak Karst

The Slovak Karst (Slovak: Slovenský kras) is one of the mountain ranges of the Slovenské Rudohorie mountains in the Carpathians in southern Slovakia. It consists of a complex of huge karst plains and plateaus. Since 1973 it has been a protected landscape area. On 1 March 2002 Slovak Karst National Park was declared.
