Browns Valley (also, Brown's Valley) is an unincorporated community in Yuba County, California. Browns Valley is located 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Marysville and is near Collins Lake.

Loma Rica (Spanish for "Rich Hill") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Yuba County, California, United States. The population was 2,368 at the 2010 census, up from 2,075 at the 2000 census. Loma Rica is located 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Marysville.

Yuba County ( ; Maidu: Yubu) is located in north-central Sutter County, California, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, its population was 81,575. Yuba County is included in the Yuba City metropolitan statistical area, which is also included in the Sacramento–Roseville combined statistical area. The county is in the Central Valley region along the Feather River; the county seat is Marysville.

Hammonton (formerly, Dredgertown and Dredgerville) is a former settlement in Yuba County, California. It is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south of Browns Valley, at an elevation of 131 feet (40 m). Hammonton was a company town for the Yuba Consolidated Mines, which dredged gold from the Yuba River floodplain. Established in 1906, Hammonton had 250 residents, a store, service station, and swimming pool by 1938, when the townspeople were forced to move two miles so that the original townsite could be razed and dredged. In 1957, the residents were again relocated, this time to Linda, so that the new townsite could also be dredged; Hammonton ceased to exist at that time. The Yuba Goldfields now cover the townsites. A post office operated at Hammonton from 1906 to 1957. The name is in honor of W.P. Hammon, gold-dredging company official.

Sicard Flat is an unincorporated community in Yuba County, California, USA. It is located 3 miles (4.8 km) west-northwest of Smartville, at an elevation of 348 feet (106 m). The name honors Theodore Sicard, miner and merchant, who settled here in 1848.

The Yuba Goldfields, also known as the Hammonton dredge field, is the largest gold dredge field in California. Located along the Yuba River approximately 6–12 miles (10–20 km) upstream of the town of Marysville, in Yuba County, the Hammonton dredge field was actively dredged for gold from 1904 to 1968. In total, more than one billion cubic yards (760×10^6 m3) of river sediment and lesser hydraulic mining debris was dredged to produce an estimated 5.14 million ounces (146×10^6 g) of gold. The goldfields are noted for their otherworldly appearance (a result of gold dredging operations), filled with roughly linear mounds of gravels (called dredge tailing windrows), ravines, streams and turquoise-colored pools of water. From the air, the goldfields are said to resemble intestines. Wild turkeys, deer, ducks, Beavers, herons, bald eagles, Northern river otters and even mountain lions now live in the goldfields.

Timbuctoo is an unincorporated community in Yuba County, California. It lies northwest of Smartsville, at an elevation of 397 feet (121 m).

Collins Lake, impounded by Virginia Ranch Dam, is a freshwater man-made lake with 1,009 acres (4.08 km2) located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains north of Sacramento, California. The lake was originally created to provide additional irrigation water to Browns Valley and Loma Rica. It still serves that purpose as well as a recreation and fishing lake.
