Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg was a for-profit art school in Schaumburg, Illinois. The school was one of a number of Art Institutes, a franchise of for-profit art colleges with many branches in North America, owned and operated by Education Management Corporation. EDMC owned the college from 1999 until 2017, when, facing significant financial problems and declining enrollment, the company sold the Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg, along with 30 other Art Institute schools, to Dream Center Education, a Los Angeles-based Pentecostal organization. Dream Center permanently closed the Schaumburg campus location at the end of 2018.

Chicago College of Performing Arts is a performing arts college that is housed at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois, United States. While the school is officially a part of Roosevelt University, it has its own distinct personality. The relationship between the two is much like that of the Eastman School of Music and The University of Rochester or the College-Conservatory of Music and the University of Cincinnati. The college has two divisions: the Music Conservatory and the Theatre Conservatory. Nearly 600 students come from more than 40 states and 25 countries to study at the college. Its faculty consists primarily of world class professional actors, directors and musicians, including nearly 30 members of the Chicago Symphony and the Lyric Opera of Chicago (half of whom are principals) and theatre performers with credits from Broadway to Chicago and the West Coast.

Woodfield Mall is a shopping mall located in the northwest Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois, United States, at the intersection of Golf Road and Interstate 290. Woodfield Mall is the largest shopping mall in the state of Illinois, the second largest being Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook. It is also one of the largest shopping malls in the United States. The mall is located approximately 27 miles from the Chicago Loop and attracts more than 27 million visitors each year. The mall features 234 stores and is anchored by JCPenney, Macy's (formerly Marshall Field's) and Nordstrom. It also has 7 other restaurants which are Red Robin, Uncle Julio's, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Panda Express, The Cheesecake Factory, Kinfork BBQ, and Texas de Brazil. The mall was originally developed by Taubman Centers, which later sold the mall to CalPERS, Miller Capital Advisory, and GM Pension Trusts. Taubman continued to manage the mall until December 31, 2012, when GM Pension Trusts sold its stake in the mall to Simon Property Group, which took over management effective January 1, 2013.

DashCon (originally titled Tumbl-Con USA) was a fan convention catering primarily to users of the blogging service Tumblr, with a particular emphasis on fandoms. Held over the weekend of July 11, 2014, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois, the inaugural convention quickly became infamous for allegations of mismanagement and corruption among organizers, an alleged abrupt demand by the hotel for an upfront payment of cash for use of its facilities, and celebrity guests being forced to drop out of the convention after they were informed by the hotel that they would be responsible for paying for their rooms. A small ball pit placed in one of the halls became a meme after organizers offered attendees an "extra hour" in the pit (along with raffle and concert tickets) as reimbursement for a canceled panel.Organizers for DashCon initially stated that they were going to hold a second DashCon in 2015 despite the issues faced by the inaugural edition, but officially announced via a Tumblr post in September 2014 that DashCon LLP was going to be dissolved and all its assets liquidated, meaning that they were not going to hold a second convention. The post also denied claims that a similarly themed convention, Emoti-Con, was a re-branded DashCon.

The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel is a hotel located at I-90 and Meacham Road in Schaumburg, Illinois. The 500-room hotel opened its doors in July 2006 and is run by Marriott under their Renaissance brand. The property features a 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m2) exhibition hall, 48,000 sq ft (4,500 m2) of meeting room space, and a 28,000 sq ft (2,600 m2) ballroom, all of which can be divided to provide many configurations. Construction began on the $156 million facility in July 2004 and took two years to complete. The property is owned by the Village of Schaumburg, who chose John Portman & Associates of Atlanta as the architect and Walsh Construction of Chicago as the general contractor. The original design also called for an $80 million performing arts center but that portion of the design has been tabled for now. The convention center hosted its first event, the USA Gymnastics Tumbling & Trampoline National Championships, from July 5–14, 2006. The hotel's first guests checked in on July 17, 2006. All of the interiors for the hotel and convention center were designed by the Atlanta Office of Hirsch Bedner Associates, the world's largest and leading hospitality interior design firm. In July 2014, it was the site of the Tumblr-themed fandom convention DashCon, which ended up with a number of issues between the organizers, attendees, and the hotel's staff, including the alleged non-payment of a venue use fee to the hotel.

Enterrium (formerly known as Level 257 then Pac-Man Entertainment) is a contemporary American restaurant and video arcade located at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. The restaurant and entertainment destination was originally inspired by Pac-Man and the name refers to the famous kill screen, which occurs when the player reaches the 256th level of the original Pac-Man game, meaning "the next level of dining and entertainment". It was owned by Bandai Namco Entertainment from 2015 to 2021, which also owns all Pac-Man-related intellectual property. The restaurant celebrated its soft opening on March 2, 2015, and its grand opening in April 2015.In March 2021, the location was sold to National Entertainment Network and was rebranded as the Enterrium.

The Chicago Toy Soldier Show is a toy soldier and model figure trade show. It is held annually at the Hyatt Regency Hotel near Woodfield Mall, in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois. The show is organized by OTSN, Inc., publisher of Old Toy Soldier News. It is also known as the Old Toy Soldier Show or simply, the OTSN Show. The weekend event features 350 tables of toy soldiers and related collectibles. In 2005, the show attracted a crowd of 1,800 from all over the United States as well as other countries. It is one of the oldest and largest toy soldier shows in North America. The 28th annual show was held on September 28, 2008. Future shows are scheduled for September 27, 2009, September 26, 2010, and September 25, 2011.

The Streets of Woodfield is a lifestyle center located at I-290 and Higgins Rd. in Schaumburg, Illinois, directly across from Woodfield Mall. McCaffery Interests, a Chicago-based real estate developer, rebuilt the mall into the present-day configuration as a shopping and entertainment mall anchored by Legoland Discovery Center, Restoration Hardware Outlet, and Dick's Sporting Goods. This lifestyle center also features outparcels across the street like Crate & Barrel and Whole Foods Market. There is also a 20-screen AMC Loews Streets of Woodfield 20. The lifestyle center is known throughout the area as a prominent shopping destination.

Legoland Discovery Center Chicago is an indoor family entertainment center located in The Streets of Woodfield shopping center in Schaumburg, Illinois. The attraction includes Lego-theme rides, a soft play area, a 4D cinema and a gift shop. Legoland Discovery Center Chicago is owned and operated by British leisure group Merlin Entertainments.

The International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) was a for-profit media arts college in the United States with over ten branches. It was owned by Career Education Corporation. The institution was briefly merged with Sanford-Brown in 2014 before being closed in 2015.

The Paul Schweikher House and Studio at 645 S. Meacham Road in Schaumburg, Illinois is the former home and studio of architect Paul Schweikher. The house, which was designed by Schweikher himself, was built in 1937–38. At the time, Schweikher had achieved prominence through an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art; he later chaired both the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture and the Yale School of Architecture and received numerous awards for his work. The house's design blends several of the styles which Schweikher worked in throughout his career, with elements of Prairie School, International, Japanese, and vernacular architecture. The one-story house was built with wood, brick, and glass; the simple materials and low roof helped match the house to its natural environment, a landscape designed by Franz Lipp. The inside of the T-shaped house is divided into sleeping, working, and living areas; the working area, which included Schweikher's studio, is physically separate and connected to the main house by a breezeway. The home's design was praised by contemporary architects, including Ralph Rapson, William Metcalf, and Bertrand Goldberg.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 17, 1987.
