Russell Square in Perth, Western Australia is a large public space between Aberdeen Street and James Street in Northbridge. It was named after Lord John Russell.The eastern boundary is on Parker Street, which is the location of the Saints Constantine and Helene Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and the Hellenic Community Centre. Shenton Street is the western boundary of the square. Russell Square was created some time between 1838 and 1845; it appears on 1845 maps of Perth, but not on 1838 maps.It has also been known as the park of sighs (Italian: Parco dei Sospiri) as it was the favoured meeting place of the Italian community of Little Italy.In the early 1990s it was reviewed in planning studies. In October 1994 Russell Square was upgraded, and thirty sculptures were designed and created by local artists Greg James and Drago Dadich. It has been a venue for the Festival of Perth.

James Street is a street which serves the Perth suburbs Perth and Northbridge. It is the main east-west road in the centre of Northbridge. A section of the eastern end of the street has been closed and modified as the James Street Mall in the Perth Cultural Centre – with the Western Australian Museum, Alexander Library Building and older government buildings contained within the culture centre area.The central section between William Street and to the western end at Russell Square is a streetscape with a colourful and extensive history of crime, and notoriety.Until December 2016, the Mitchell Freeway had a southbound exit onto the street. The current street is a part of an older and longer street that at one time extended from Murray Street to what is now Aberdeen Street. It is named after Lord Melbourne, the British prime minister in the 1830s, when the street was originally built.

Perth City Link is an urban renewal and redevelopment project in Perth, Western Australia. The project – bounded by the Mitchell Freeway, Wellington Street, the Horseshoe Bridge and Roe Street – is on land that was once the Perth/City railway yard and dedicated railway property west of Perth railway station. The land was used by the railways and reserved for their use, from the 1880s until the late 1990s. At the time of early proposals, much of the space was no longer required by the railway.The foundation project, involved sinking a small section of the Fremantle railway line, between the City and Northbridge and demolishing the old Wellington Street Bus Station. Underground rail, refurbishment and extension of Perth station and a new bus station, is allowing for redevelopment of the 13.5 hectares (33 acres) of surface land that has been reclaimed. The rail works were completed in December 2013 and the Perth Busport opened in 2016.

Connections or 'Connies' is a nightclub in the Northbridge suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is believed to be the longest-running gay club in the southern hemisphere. It opened in 1975.The club is on the City of Perth heritage register for its significance to the LGBTQIA+ community in Western Australia.

Roe Street bus station was a Transperth bus station located on Roe Street, next to Perth station in Western Australia which operated between 12 January 2014 and 17 July 2016.

The Perth Entertainment Centre was an indoor arena and cinema complex in Perth, Western Australia, located on Wellington Street at the northern edge of the Perth central business district. It was demolished as part of the Perth City Link project in late 2011, with its replacement, Perth Arena, opening the following year.
