Countesswells

Kingswells is a village and suburb of Aberdeen, Scotland, situated west of the city and to the east of Westhill. Kingswells has existed as a village for centuries, but only beginning in the 1980s did it expand as a result of the boom in the oil industry. Kingswells accommodates many facilities suited for everybody and is famous for its spacious family homes amongst a leafy, affluent setting. It has a wide range of local amenities including; a primary school, convenience store, doctor's surgery, veterinary surgery and two community halls. In the nearby mile radius, there is also a business complex with a hotel, home to a Starbucks and a luxury gym. It doesn't include a secondary school however, there are school buses which run within the community providing efficient transport to nearby neighbouring secondary schools such as Bucksburn Academy. The village is served by regular bus services Monday to Friday (Park and Ride only at weekends); the 14 operates via the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital to the city and the new services of; 4, 5, 6, and 6A, which operate from the Park and Ride via Queens Road to the city. There are also services that operate to Countesswells, Westhill, Elrick and Alford (218). Kingswells also has easy access to Bridge of Don and Dyce via the AWPR, convenient for people working at the Airport and Industrial Estates.

Bieldside is a suburb to the west of Aberdeen City Centre, Scotland. Together with the neighbouring suburb of Cults, it is the wealthiest area in Scotland. It has one pub/restaurant, The Bieldside, a foodstore, a hairdresser, a tea room and a charity shop. The Old Deeside railway line (now the Deeside Way) passes through Bieldside, and Queen Victoria would often stop at Bieldside on her regular journeys between her summer retreat at Balmoral and the city centre. Bieldside is attributed as one of the wealthiest areas in Scotland, and is home to the most millionaires per postcode outside London. Its residents include former UK Open winner Paul Lawrie and Stewart Milne.

Murtle railway station, later Murtle Halt railway station served Murtle and Beaconhill Houses and estates, the Mill of Murtle, Milton of Murtle, the local farms and the inhabitants of this rural area within the parish of Peterculter from 1853 to 1937 on the Deeside Railway that ran from Aberdeen (Joint) to Ballater.

Cults Academy is an Aberdeen City Council secondary school in Cults, Aberdeen, Scotland. It was the recipient of The Sunday Times Scottish State Secondary School of the Year Award 2008 because of its outstanding exam results that year, having been rated 3rd in 2005. As of 2023, Cults Academy is the 6th best school in Scotland. Based on pupil numbers, Cults Academy is the largest state school in Aberdeen. It was founded in 1967. The old 1960s school building was replaced with a new building on the former site of its playing fields in 2009.

Bieldside railway station served the Bieldside area within the parish of Peterculter from 1897 to 1937 on the Deeside Railway that ran from Aberdeen (Joint) to Ballater. This area was the location of a number of mansion houses and estates such as Woodthorpe, Dalmunzie, The Firs, etc., some built as a result of the railway.

Hazlehead is an area to the west of the Scottish city of Aberdeen.

Tor-Na-Dee Hospital was a health facility at Milltimber, Aberdeen, Scotland.

The Deeside Way is a 41-mile (66 km) rail trail that follows, in part, the bed of the former Deeside Railway in Aberdeenshire. Forming part of the National Cycle Network (National Route 195) the trail leads from Aberdeen to Ballater.

The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR), unofficially also the City of Aberdeen Bypass, is a major road that wraps around the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. The road stretches north from Stonehaven through Kincardineshire and crosses both the River Dee and River Don before terminating at Blackdog. The main stretch of the AWPR is 22 miles (35 km) in length. The AWPR also includes the 4-mile (6.4 km) A956 spur that links the bypass to the A92. The construction of the AWPR was coupled with extensive upgrades to the A90 continuing north with the 9-mile (14 km) Balmedie to Tipperty dual carriageway, supplanting the existing road which was subsequently detrunked and is now the B977. The AWPR's primary route is designated as part of the A90, with the original A90 now renamed the A92, which now connects with the AWPR at both of its ends. The road is predominantly rural, crossing mainly through farmland and forest while skimming past built-up areas. The AWPR is legally classed as a special road by the Scottish Government. This means that the bypass is governed under motorway restrictions. The road itself is near-motorway grade with all junctions being grade-separated with adjoining slip roads (the only exception being the Cleanhill roundabout), a full-length continuous concrete step barrier, large road signage, legal prohibition of stopping and reversing alongside restriction to Class I and II vehicles, barring non-motorway traffic from using the bypass altogether. The road however lacks hard shoulders and instead includes emergency laybys while its statutory instrument prevents it from being a motorway. Despite this, the AWPR is not a standard primary A-road and is viewed as being a motorway in all but name. It is one of the most important trunk roads in Scotland. The Balmedie to Tipperty road is not part of the bypass despite being built in conjunction with it and therefore not bound by the AWPR's statutory instrument, making it an ordinary dual carriageway. First announced in January 2003, the road was approved by Scottish Ministers in late 2009 with the original costs estimated at between £295 million and £395 million. Construction on the AWPR began on 19 February 2015. The final section opened exactly four years later on 19 February 2019.

Hazlehead Academy, formerly known as Central School then Aberdeen Academy, is a comprehensive secondary school in Aberdeen, Scotland. It has four main feeder primary schools, Airyhall Primary School, Fernielea Primary School, Hazlehead Primary School and Kingsford Primary School - in addition to this, pupils who have been part of a Gaelic unit at Aberdeen's Gilcomstoun Primary School can transfer to Hazlehead, which offers Gaelic as part of the curriculum.

Milltimber is a suburb of Aberdeen, Scotland, around 6 miles (10 km) west of Aberdeen city centre. From 1854 to 1937 the area was served by Milltimber railway station on the Aberdeen suburban railway. Along with the nearby settlements of Cults and Bieldside, it is home to some of the wealthiest residents of Aberdeen. Facilities in Milltimber are somewhat lacking, with the nearest shop situated in neighbouring Bieldside. However, it is home to a highly rated primary school, a church, and a community building which is used for private functions as well as Boy Scout and Girl Guide troops and similar. Kippie Lodge is a sports and social club, with a 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, sports complex, creche and restaurant. Next to the lodge are the playing fields of the independent Albyn School. In 2009, property website Zoopla listed Milltimber's postcode, AB13, as the most expensive in Scotland with an average house price of £422,760.

West Cults railway station served the small suburban village of West Cults area within the parish of Peterculter from 1894 to 1937 on the Deeside Railway that ran from Aberdeen (Joint) to Ballater. It lay very close to Cults and Bieldside.
