Newbridge, Wrexham

Newbridge Lodge is a gatehouse to the Wynnstay estate near Ruabon, in Wrexham County Borough, North Wales. Designed by Charles Robert Cockerell in 1827–1828 for Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, 5th Baronet, it is a Grade I listed building. Its gates and railings have a separate Grade I listing.

The Cefn (Newbridge) Viaduct is Grade II* listed railway viaduct across the River Dee between Cefn and Chirk communities in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The viaduct is near the villages of Cefn Mawr (and Cefn-bychan), Pentre and Newbridge. The viaduct forms the eastern boundary of Tŷ Mawr Country Park and is around a mile downstream of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.

Cefn railway station was a minor railway station on the Great Western Railway's London to Birkenhead main line serving the mining village of Cefn Mawr in Wales. It opened as Rhosymedre in 1848 but was resited on an adjacent site in 1849 and named Cefn. It had an adjacent signal box but the station seems not to have handled freight traffic. The remains of the station and yard area can be seen just to the north of Cefn Viaduct (also known as Dee Viaduct). Although the station is gone the railway remains open as part of the Shrewsbury to Chester Line.

Tŷ Mawr Country Park (Welsh: Parc Gwledig Tŷ Mawr) is a country park and farm park near Cefn Mawr in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The country park lies between Cefn-bychan and Newbridge to the north, the River Dee to the south and west, and the Cefn Viaduct carrying the Shrewsbury–Chester line to the east.

Plaskynaston Lane is a demolished football stadium in Cefn Mawr, Wrexham, Wales. It was the home stadium of Cefn Druids A.F.C. of the Cymru Alliance. The stadium held 2,000 spectators. The last game played at the ground was the Tony Collins Memorial Cup Final U12, between Llay FC and Marford & Gresford FC, refereed by Lewys Evans in memory of a former Cefn Druids A.F.C. player. Cefn Druids A.F.C. now play at the Rock, Rhosymedre. The site is now used as a Tesco superstore.

Rhosymedre Halt was a minor railway station on the Great Western Railway's London to Birkenhead main line, serving the mining village of Rhosymedre near Cefn Mawr in Wales. Although the station is gone, the railway remains open as part of the Shrewsbury to Chester Line. The station was situated in a deep cutting amidst a number of overbridges, but nothing now remains of the old platforms. Express trains did not call at Rhosymedre, and the halt would have been served only by West Midlands & Shrewsbury to Wrexham & Chester local trains. Some proposals for a "Wrexham South railway station" involve the use of the former Rhosymedre Halt railway station site or slightly south of it.

Rhosymedre () is a village within the community of Cefn, in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The Anglican church, which was consecrated in 1837, is dedicated to St John the Evangelist, and is part of the Diocese of St Asaph. Former vicars include John David Edwards (vicar from 1843 to 1885), whose most famous hymn tune composition is Rhosymedre, upon which Ralph Vaughan Williams later based an organ prelude.The quarry behind Rock Road was originally the source of stones for building the Llangollen Canal, and also the houses of the local mining community. Rhosymedre Halt railway station served the village from 1906 to 1959.

The Rock is a football stadium based in Rhosymedre, Wales. It is currently the home stadium for Cymru North teams Cefn Druids and Gresford Athletic FC, as well as Wrexham AFC Women. In March 2009 planning permission was granted to demolish Cefn's old stadium, Plaskynaston Lane, and replace it with a Tesco supermarket. Delays to the beginning of construction put the project back by 12 months and the club moved into the new stadium in August 2010.Cefn Druids and Gresford Athletic announced in March 2023 that they had signed a multi-year agreement to groundshare at the stadium, effective immediately and during at least the 23/24 season.In March 2023, it was announced that Wrexham AFC Women would move to The Rock in order to obtain a Tier 1 license.

Cefn Mawr (Welsh: Cefn-mawr; ) is a village in the community of Cefn within Wrexham County Borough, Wales. Its name translates as "big ridge". The population in 2001 was 6,669, increasing to 7,051 in 2011. The community of Cefn comprises the villages of Cefn Mawr, Cefn-bychan ("little ridge"), Acrefair, Penybryn, Newbridge, Plas Madoc and Rhosymedre and is situated on the northern slopes of the Dee Valley.

Whitehurst Halt was a small railway station located on the Shrewsbury to Chester Line about a mile and a half north of Chirk in Wales, immediately on the north side of the 46-yard Whitehurst Tunnel. It was opened by the Great Western Railway as Llangollen Road Halt and the name was changed on 1 May 1906.

Acrefair railway station (Welsh pronunciation: [ˌakrɛˈvɑɪr] ak-REH-vire) was a former station on the Ruabon–Barmouth line in North East Wales. It closed to passengers on 18 January 1965 as part of the Beeching Axe.

Plas Madoc (standard Welsh: Plas Madog; ) is a housing estate and former electoral ward near Acrefair, in the Cefn community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is located seven miles to the south-west of Wrexham, and contains The Land adventure playground, and a community-run leisure centre with a swimming pool. The area is one of the most deprived areas (top 10% most deprived) in Wales, and the fourth most deprived LSOA in Wrexham County Borough.Plas Madoc F.C. was a football club in the area, the club dissolved in 2020.
