Saint George's School is an independent K-12 college preparatory school located in Spokane, Washington. The campus is located on 120 acres (0.49 km2) along the Little Spokane River. Saint George's mission statement is "Inspiring scholars, athletes, and artists to serve and lead others."

Balboa/South Indian Trail is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington located on the northwestern side of the city. The neighborhood is largely composed of single-family residential areas that were developed after being annexed into the city in the 1950s. The neighborhood is situated on tableland above a steep bluff rising from the Spokane River to the west, that then rises up a more developed bluff towards Five Mile Prairie which is located above the neighborhood to the north and east.

Five Mile Prairie is a neighborhood on the far north side of Spokane, Washington. It is located on a prairie of the same name that is atop a bluff on the northern edge of the city of Spokane. It contains the highest elevations on the north side of the city proper. Despite its elevation, however, most of the neighborhood is relatively flat prairie land. Housing development has been replacing the rural land in the neighborhood since the start of the 21st century.

Joe Albi Stadium was an outdoor athletic stadium in the Northwestern United States, located in Spokane, Washington. In the northwest part of the city, just east of the Spokane River, it was primarily used for high school football, and as a secondary home field for the Washington State Cougars from its opening through 1983. Built and opened 73 years ago in 1950 on the site of a U.S. Army hospital, it was closed in 2022 and demolished, replaced with a new stadium in downtown Spokane, just northeast of the Spokane Arena.

Northwest is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington, located in the northwestern portion of the city. Largely single-family residential, Northwest is also home to Spokane's VA Medical Center, the Dwight Merkel Sports complex, a large public sports facility, and portions of Riverside State Park along the Spokane River. The neighborhood contains developments that span from the post-World War II housing boom in the east to more contemporary, suburban-style developments in the west. It was also home to Joe Albi Stadium from 1950 until 2022, which served as the Spokane region's main high school sports stadium over its seven decades of use.

Riverside State Park is a Washington state park located 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Spokane in the community of Nine Mile Falls. The park protects 11,162 acres (4,517 ha) of Okanagan dry forest along the Spokane and Little Spokane rivers. It is the second largest state park in Washington after Mount Spokane State Park and is a popular recreation area for locals.

Riverside Park Water Reclamation Facility is the largest wastewater treatment plant for Spokane, capable of handling up to 150 million gallons a day. During low flow periods, the outflow of the plant comprises up to 20% of the Spokane River's water. Until its construction in 1952 (completed 1958), Spokane dumped raw sewage into the Spokane River resulting in recurrent Typhoid fever outbreaks. A $126 million upgrade to increase capacity to 50,000,000 US gallons (190,000,000 l; 42,000,000 imp gal) a day began in 2016, also adding sub-micron membrane technology filtration. It is part of Spokane's $300 million integrated water quality plan.

The 1946 U.S. Women's Open was a golf tournament contested from August 26 to September 1 at Spokane Country Club, north of Spokane, Washington. It was the first edition of the U.S. Women's Open, and only one to have been played in match play competition. The field of 39 women was reduced to the 32-player match play field by a 36-hole qualifier on Monday and Tuesday. Six professionals and 26 amateurs advanced to match play. The format was 18-hole matches through the quarterfinals, and 36 holes for the semifinals and finals.Professionals Patty Berg and Betty Jameson reached the Sunday final. Jameson led by three after seven holes, but Berg evened the match and they finished the first 18 holes all square. After lunch, Berg needed only fourteen holes in the afternoon to close out the match at 5 & 4. Berg won $5,600 and Jameson $3,100, all in war bonds. This win was later recognized as Berg's sixth major championship. The winner's share at the U.S. Women's Open was substantially less in succeeding years and was not exceeded until 1972, 26 years later. Jameson won the title the following year as a 72-hole stroke play event. Founded in 1898, Spokane Country Club was purchased by the Kalispel Tribe in late 2015 and is now Kalispell Golf and Country Club.

Spokane House was a fur-trading post founded in 1810 by the British-Canadian North West Company, located on a peninsula where the Spokane River and Little Spokane River meet. When established, the North West Company's farthest outpost in the Columbia River region was the first ever non-Indigenous settlement in the Pacific Northwest (South of present-day 49 degree latitude border). An American rival of the NWC, the Pacific Fur Company opened a station adjacent to Spokane House, called Fort Spokane. The War of 1812 and ongoing supply issues caused the collapse of the PFC, with its posts now under the control of the NWC. The original Spokane House was abandoned in favor of Fort Spokane, though the latter location was still called Spokane House. The second Spokane House saw use as a major post in the interior Oregon Country until the NWC was absorbed by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1821. During a general tour of the Pacific Northwest, Spokane House was abandoned by George Simpson in 1825, in favor of a new post that became Fort Colvile. The site of Spokane House is in Spokane County in the U.S. state of Washington, just northwest of the city of Spokane.

Deep Creek is a stream of approximately 23 miles which is formed at the confluence of the North Fork Deep Creek and South Fork Deep Creek two miles southwest of the community of Deep Creek, Washington on the far western edge of Spokane County. The creek has its mouth at the Spokane River in Riverside State Park where it cuts a thin canyon through basalt with depths reaching over 600 feet from the land above. The creek and its tributaries flow through mostly rural agricultural areas west of the Spokane urban area, though the headwaters and mouth are both located on state-owned conservation land.

Audubon/Downriver is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington, located on the northwest side of the city. There is a diversity of land use in the neighborhood, with single-family residential areas dating from the early 20th century through the Post–World War II economic expansion era, regionally important commercial districts, smaller neighborhood retail areas, numerous schools, large parks, a golf course, conservation areas and part of Riverside State Park along the Spokane River. The neighborhood is the site of the corporate offices for Rosauers Supermarkets, a regional grocery store chain with stores located across the Northwestern United States. The neighborhood's name comes from two areas within its bounds, Audubon Park and the Downriver area, so named for being located downriver from Downtown Spokane.

Nine Mile Falls Dam is a dam on the Spokane River, in the unincorporated community of Nine Mile Falls, Washington. It was built on the site of the falls in 1908, creating Nine Mile Reservoir. The dam was designed by the New York engineering firm of Sanderson & Porter, and originally constructed to satisfy the power needs of the Spokane and Inland Empire Railroad interurban trolley lines.Washington Water Power (now the power company Avista) purchased the site in 1925, and continues to operate it as one of its six hydroelectric generating plants on the Spokane River. The 58-foot-high cyclopean masonry dam and its powerhouse, storehouse, ten cottages and other structures were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
