Coast Fork Willamette River

The Middle Fork Willamette River is one of several forks that unite to form the Willamette River in the western part of the U.S. state of Oregon. It is approximately 115 miles (185 km) long, draining an area of the Cascade Range southeast of Eugene, which is at the southern end of the Willamette Valley.

Coryell Pass is a gap located near Eugene in Lane County, Oregon, United States, near the confluence of the Coast Fork and Middle Fork of the Willamette River. The gap is formed by the river between Eugene's South Hills and Springfield's Quarry Butte. The pass is commemorated by a brass marker located on Franklin Boulevard, on what was formerly the route of Pacific Highway. The marker, which was placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), reads "Coryell Pass, Oregon Trail, 1846, Erected by Oregon Lewis and Clark Chapter D.A.R., 1917". The pass was on the southern route of the Oregon Trail blazed by Jesse Applegate and known as the Applegate Trail. One of earliest ferries in Oregon was operated here beginning in 1847 by Abraham Coryell and his son Lewis. Pioneer Elijah Bristow had passed this way in 1846, and later the Coryells settled there. The site had a spring and was used by Oregon Trail pioneers as a campsite.

Dorris Ranch is a 268-acre (108-hectare) municipal park and commercial filbert orchard just south of downtown Springfield, Oregon, United States. It is operated by the Willamalane Park and Recreation District. The park's trails pass through riparian woodland and oak prairie habitats. The park also serves as the western access point of the paved, 4-mile-long Middle Fork mixed-use path, which runs to Clearwater Park. Dorris Ranch is recognized as the first commercial filbert orchard (started in 1892) in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. More than half of all the commercial filbert trees now growing in the U.S. originated from Dorris Ranch nursery stock.

Lane Community College is a public community college in Eugene, Oregon, with additional facilities in downtown Eugene, Florence, Cottage Grove, and the Lane Aviation Academy at Eugene Airport. Lane serves more than 26,000 credit and non-credit students annually in a 5,000 square-mile (~8047 km2) service district, including most of Lane County as well as individual school districts in Benton, Linn, and Douglas counties.

The Southern Pacific Railroad Passenger Station and Freight House, located in Springfield, Oregon, United States, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Academy of Arts and Academics (A3) is a public high school in downtown Springfield, Oregon, United States. The school allows students the chance to pursue an education in the art form of their choice, from visual to theatrical to music composition to many others. The school encourages students to integrate their arts into their academic projects. At the end of each semester, students showcase their projects in a "Confluence".

Glenwood is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Located between the cities of Springfield and Eugene, on the route of the former Pacific Highway, which is now named Franklin Boulevard. Glenwood is in Springfield's annexation and has a Eugene postal address.

Gateways High School is a public high school of choice in downtown Springfield, Oregon, United States.

The Washburne Historic District in Springfield, Oregon was established in 1985 and added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1987. The district includes 29 full blocks and five partial blocks, and it is roughly bounded by A Street on the south, G Street on the north, Pioneer Parkway on the west, and 10th Street on the east. Its total area encompasses 84 acres. Springfield General Hospital, now an apartment building within the district, is individually listed on the NRHP.

The Lane Transit District (LTD) is a public agency that provides public transportation in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The transit district serves the Eugene and Springfield metropolitan areas, including the neighboring cities of Coburg, Junction City, Creswell, Cottage Grove, Veneta, and Lowell. LTD began service in 1970 with 18 buses and two vans, and today carries roughly 10.5 million customers annually with a fleet of 111 buses. Many of LTD's riders are students; University of Oregon and Lane Community College students ride by simply showing their student I.D. Student fees subsidize both programs, as well as limited late-night service until about 1 a.m. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 5,572,300, or about 17,900 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2023. A board of directors, whose members are appointed by the Governor of Oregon, governs LTD. A combination of passenger fares, payroll taxes, and state and federal money fund the system. According to LTD's Website, LTD operates 111 buses, which includes both standard and low-floor buses, in length of 30-foot, 40-foot, and 60-foot (articulated buses) for regular services. Among those 111 vehicles, 11 of those are the 60-foot BRT vehicles used for EmX service. All LTD buses are wheelchair-accessible, since 1985. The district currently operates 45 hybrid-electric buses, and 11 electric buses.

The Oakway Center is a shopping center in Eugene, Oregon. It is one of the three shopping malls in the area. The annual sales are $1 to 2.5 million (D&B: $1,300,000). Oakway Center is anchored by Bed Bath and Beyond, Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy, and Trader Joe's. It opened in 1966 as Oakway Mall, with an Albertsons supermarket, Tiffany's Drugstore, and Oakway Department Store as anchors. The Oakway Department store closed after only six years and was subdivided. Albertsons moved to a new store in 1990 and converted to TJ Maxx the same year. After Tiffany's closed in 1998, it became a Borders Books & Music, which closed in 2011 and was rumored to become an H&M. TJ Maxx moved across the street in 2005 and was subdivided among other retailers, including White House/Black Market. In 2013 Nordstrom Rack announced that they would open a new store where Borders Books & Music was located.On May 21, 2020, it was announced that Pier 1 Imports would be closing all stores, including the Oakway Center location.
