Washburne Historic District

Academy of Arts and Academics (A3) is a public high school in downtown Springfield, Oregon, United States. The school allows students the chance to pursue an education in the art form of their choice, from visual to theatrical to music composition to many others. The school encourages students to integrate their arts into their academic projects. At the end of each semester, students showcase their projects in a "Confluence".

Springfield High School was the first public high school in Springfield, Oregon, United States. It is one of four high schools in the Springfield School District.

Springfield is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Located in the Southern Willamette Valley, it is within the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Separated from Eugene to the west, mainly by Interstate 5, Springfield is the second-most populous city in the metropolitan area after Eugene. As of the 2020 census, the city has a total population of 61,851, making it the 9th most populous city in Oregon. The Briggs family first settled the Springfield area, arriving in 1848. The community was incorporated as a city in 1885. The city was named after a natural spring located in a field or prairie within the current city boundaries. For the majority of the 20th century, the economy of Springfield was largely dependent on the Oregon timber industry; since the 1990s, however, the economy has diversified, with PeaceHealth now the largest employer in the city. Public education in the city is provided by the Springfield School District.

The Springfield General Hospital, located in Springfield, Oregon, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hospital was established in 1913.

Kelly Butte is a hill in west Springfield, Oregon, United States.The butte was named for John Kelly, who came to the Oregon Country in 1843 as an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company. A native of County Wexford, Ireland, he had previously lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. From Oregon he returned to the United States, served in the Mexican–American War, and returned to Oregon in 1849 as a wagonmaster with the U.S. Mounted Rifles. He worked as a stock trader between Oregon and California, and eventually took a Donation Land Claim near Roseburg, Oregon. He came to Springfield in 1866, where he became a miller and lumber contractor until 1869. He returned to Roseburg, serving in the land office for the next 8 years. He worked in Portland as a customs collector from 1876 to 1880, and for a time was a commissioner of the Northern Pacific Railway in Montana.

The Brattain–Hadley House was located in Springfield, Oregon, United States, and was formerly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Fire destroyed much of the house in 1997, and in 2012 a demolition contractor removed the house for safety reasons. Paul Brattain, an 1852 pioneer, obtained a 160-acre donation land claim soon after moving from Iowa to Oregon. The Brattain farm was entirely within modern Springfield city limits. When Brattain died in 1893, his descendants built the Queen Anne style house. Paul Hadley, Brattain's grandson, was the last of Brattain's descendants to occupy the house in the 1940s. Hadley's daughter, Mary Hadley Callis, allowed vagrants to occupy the house until the 1997 fire. The house was removed from the National Register on May 8, 2012.

Glenwood is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Located between the cities of Springfield and Eugene, on the route of the former Pacific Highway, which is now named Franklin Boulevard. Glenwood is in Springfield's annexation and has a Eugene postal address.

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Springfield, Oregon, United States. Opened in 1955, it serves the Lane County area. McKenzie-Willamette is investor-owned, and accredited by the Joint Commission. Licensed for 114 hospital beds, the facility was the only hospital in Springfield until the Sacred Heart facility at RiverBend opened in August 2008.

Dorris Ranch is a 268-acre (108-hectare) municipal park and commercial filbert orchard just south of downtown Springfield, Oregon, United States. It is operated by the Willamalane Park and Recreation District. The park's trails pass through riparian woodland and oak prairie habitats. The park also serves as the western access point of the paved, 4-mile-long Middle Fork mixed-use path, which runs to Clearwater Park. Dorris Ranch is recognized as the first commercial filbert orchard (started in 1892) in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. More than half of all the commercial filbert trees now growing in the U.S. originated from Dorris Ranch nursery stock.

The Lane Transit District (LTD) is a public agency that provides public transportation in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The transit district serves the Eugene and Springfield metropolitan areas, including the neighboring cities of Coburg, Junction City, Creswell, Cottage Grove, Veneta, and Lowell. LTD began service in 1970 with 18 buses and two vans, and today carries roughly 10.5 million customers annually with a fleet of 111 buses. Many of LTD's riders are students; University of Oregon and Lane Community College students ride by simply showing their student I.D. Student fees subsidize both programs, as well as limited late-night service until about 1 a.m. In 2022, the system had a ridership of 5,572,300, or about 17,900 per weekday as of the third quarter of 2023. A board of directors, whose members are appointed by the Governor of Oregon, governs LTD. A combination of passenger fares, payroll taxes, and state and federal money fund the system. According to LTD's Website, LTD operates 111 buses, which includes both standard and low-floor buses, in length of 30-foot, 40-foot, and 60-foot (articulated buses) for regular services. Among those 111 vehicles, 11 of those are the 60-foot BRT vehicles used for EmX service. All LTD buses are wheelchair-accessible, since 1985. The district currently operates 45 hybrid-electric buses, and 11 electric buses.
