Hog's Hole is a 23.7-hectare (59-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in the civil parish of Combe in the English county of Berkshire.

West Woodhay Down is a 1.5-hectare (3.7-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Berkshire and Hampshire. It is lowland Calcareous grassland with a northwest facing bank, and forms part of the northern slopes of Walbury Hill and Combe Hill. The site was formerly included as part of Inkpen and Walbury Hills SSSI.West Woodhay Down is in the civil parishes of West Woodhay and East Woodhay, to the south-west of the town of Newbury. West Woodhay parish is within the unitary authority area of West Berkshire and the ceremonial county of Berkshire, whilst East Woodhay is within the district of Basingstoke and Deane in the administrative county of Hampshire.

Walbury Hill is a summit of the North Wessex Downs in Berkshire, England. With an elevation of 297 metres (974 ft), it is the highest natural point in South East England. On the hill's summit is the Iron Age hill fort of Walbury Camp, whilst the flanks of the hill lie within the Inkpen and Walbury Hills SSSI. The hill is one of three nationally important chalk wild grasslands in the North Wessex Downs, the others being in the Rushmore and Conholt Downs SSSI and the Hog's Hole SSSI. The summit of the hill is marked by a triangulation pillar, but lies on private land with no public access, although public access is available to the north of the summit via a byway.Walbury Hill lies on the north-facing ridgeline of the North Hampshire Downs section of the North Wessex Downs, flanked to the west by Inkpen Hill and to the east by Combe Hill and Pilot Hill. Combe Gibbet stands to the west on Gallows Down between Walbury and Inkpen Hills. The town of Hungerford is around seven kilometres (4+1⁄2 mi) northwest.The hill is accessible by minor roads at both its western and eastern sides, and there are car parks at the closest point of approach of each road. There is no paved road across the hill between these two points, but a byway open to all traffic connects them, passing some 200 metres (660 ft) north of the summit. The westerly car park at Walbury Hill is the starting point for both the Test Way and the Wayfarer's Walk long distance footpaths. The Wayfarer's Walk utilises the byway across the hill, before continuing south and east to Emsworth in Hampshire. The Test Way heads in the opposite direction, via Combe Gibbet and Inkpen Hill, before turning south to Eling in Hampshire.The hill lies within the civil parishes of Combe (which includes the summit), Inkpen and West Woodhay, all of which are within the unitary authority area of West Berkshire and the ceremonial county of Berkshire. It forms part of the Kirby House estate, owned by the Astor family.Before the use of satellites was commonplace, Walbury Hill was occasionally used by the BBC as a temporary relay station during events at Newbury Racecourse. There is a small low-level circular brick building, approximately 6 feet (1.8 metres) high, on the south side of the hill, which appears to be a disused reservoir.

The upper slopes are open calcareous grassland, while the lower slopes are wooded.The hill lies within the civil parishes of East Woodhay (which includes the summit), Faccombe and Combe. East Woodhay is within the district of Basingstoke and Deane in the administrative county of Hampshire, Faccombe is in the Hampshire district of Test Valley, and Combe is within the unitary authority area of West Berkshire and the ceremonial county of Berkshire.

Faccombe is a village and civil parish in Hampshire, England. The village lies on the Hampshire-Berkshire border and is situated on the North Downs. Its nearest Hampshire town is Andover, approximately 8 miles (13 km) away although Newbury in Berkshire is 2 miles (3.2 km) closer. The village was originally called "Faccombe Upstrete" in medieval times to distinguish it from Netherton, Hampshire, a village lower in the valley. The village has an inn, The Jack Russell Inn.

Netherton is a hamlet in northwest Hampshire, England. According to the Post Office the population of the 2011 Census was included in the civil parish of Faccombe. It is the site of a late Anglo-Saxon and medieval manorial complex, the remains of which are on private property with nothing remaining above ground.

Inkpen and Walbury Hills is an 86.8-hectare (214-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Kintbury in Berkshire. The site is situated on the flanks of Walbury Hill, the highest point in Berkshire and South East England, and the adjacent Inkpen Hill. A Bronze Age cemetery of three bowl barrows on Inkpen Hill is designated a Scheduled Monument.These hills have the largest area of unimproved chalk downland in the county and much of it is managed by sheep grazing. North facing slopes have many mosses and herbs, such as hoary plantain and germander speedwell. There are also woods and hedgerows which provide a habitat for many species of breeding birds.

Inkpen Common or Inkpen Great Common is a 12.8-hectare (32-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Inkpen in Berkshire. It is managed as a nature reserve by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.This is a surviving fragment of the former Inkpen Common is located between the hamlets of Hell Corner and Inkpen Common. It is mainly damp heathland, with small areas of marsh, woods and bracken. Flora on the heath include purple moor grass, common gorse, lousewort, lesser dodder and the only surviving colony in Berkshire of pale heath violet.

Inkpen Common is a hamlet and former common in the English county of Berkshire, within the civil parish of Inkpen. The settlement lies south of the A4 road and approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east of Hungerford. It is the location of the Crown and Garter public house. Part of the old common remains as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, called Inkpen Common SSSI, between the hamlet and Hell Corner. It is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.
