Boschkapelle

Vogelwaarde is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 29 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom.

Stoppeldijk is a former village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Since 1970, it has been part of the village of Vogelwaarde.Stoppeldijk was a separate municipality until 1936, when it was merged with Boschkapelle.

It was restored in 1977.Hengstdijk was home to 670 people in 1840. It was a separate municipality until 1936 when it became part of the municipality of Vogelwaarde. In 2003, the village became part of the municipality of Hulst.

The village was first mentioned in 1469 as up Coytaerde. The etymology is unknown.The grist mill Vogelzicht was built in 1865. In 1904, an engine was installed in the mill. The wind mill was restored in 2004.Kuitaart was home to 197 people in 1840. The village used to be part of the municipality of Hontenisse. In 2002, it became part of the municipality of Hulst.

Absdale is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 32 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. Absdale is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Hulst. Absdale has place name signs. It used to be home to 550 people in 1840. Nowadays, it consists of about 40 houses.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1315 as te Absdale, and means valley of the abbot which refers to the Ter Duinen Abbey. Absdale is mentioned in the poem Van den vos Reynaerde.

Terhole or Ter Hole is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 26 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. It was first mentioned in 1542 as Ten Hole.Terhole was home to 186 people in 1840. The village used to be part of the municipality of Hontenisse. In 2002, it became part of the municipality of Hulst.

Hontenisse (population in 2002: 8,014) is a former municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the municipality of Hulst in the province of Zeeland. The municipality covered an area of 115.78 km² (of which 3.53 km² water). On January 1, 2003 Hontenisse was merged into Hulst.

Walsoorden is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 22 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. The village was first mentioned in 1210 as Volcousthord, and means "land (near water) of the people of Wale (person)".Walsoorden has one monument: the Beauforts sluice. It was built in 1761, and unlike other sluices, it does not have any doors, but uses a slide. The sluice is named after J.F. de Beaufort who was in charge of the water board. On 12 March 1906, large parts of Zeeland were flooded, but the sluice in Walsoorden managed to hold the water back.Walsoorden was home to 99 people in 1840. The village used to be part of the municipality of Hontenisse. In 2003, it was merged into Hulst. The ferry from Kruiningen to Perkpolder used to be located near Walsoorden. It was replaced in 2003 by the Westerscheldetunnel.

The siege of Hulst was a siege of the city of Hulst that took place between 20 and 24 September 1591 by a Dutch and English army under the leadership of Maurice of Orange during the Eighty Years' War and the Anglo–Spanish War. The siege was part of Maurice's famous campaign of 1591.

The siege of Hulst of 1596 took place between mid-July and August 18, 1596, at the city of Hulst, Province of Zeeland, Low Countries (present-day the Netherlands), during the Eighty Years' War, the Anglo-Spanish War (1585–1604). The siege was won by the Spanish forces of the Archduke of Austria. After a short siege, during which Maurice of Orange launched a failed attempt to relieve the city, the garrison of Dutch and English troops fell into Spanish hands on August 18, 1596.
