La Roue, Brussels

Bizet is a Brussels metro station on the western branch of line 5. It is located in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels, Belgium. It received its name from the Place Bizet/Bizetplein, the city square aboveground, which had been named after the French classical music composer Georges Bizet. The metro station opened on 10 January 1992, and until 2003, it was the western terminus of former east–west line 1B. On 15 September 2003, a further extension from Bizet westwards to Erasme/Erasmus was opened. Following the reorganisation of the Brussels metro on 4 April 2009, it is served by line 5.

La Roue (French) or Het Rad (Dutch) is a Brussels metro station on the western branch of line 5. It is located in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels (Belgium). It serves the La Roue/Het Rad ("The Wheel") district, after which it is named. The station opened on 15 September 2003 as part of the Bizet–Erasme/Erasmus extension of former line 1B including the stations Erasme/Erasmus, Eddy Merckx and CERIA/COOVI. Following the reorganisation of the Brussels metro on 4 April 2009, it is served by line 5.

Veeweyde (French, old Dutch spelling) or Veeweide (modern Dutch) is a Brussels metro station on the western branch of line 5. It is located in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels (Belgium). It takes its name from the nearby Rue de Veeweyde/Veeweidestraat. The station opened on 5 July 1985 and was the western terminus of former line 1B, until the opening of an extension to Bizet in 1992 (further extended in 2003 to Erasme/Erasmus). Following the reorganisation of the Brussels metro on 4 April 2009, it is served by line 5.

The École supérieure des Arts du Cirque (ESAC) is a professional circus school located in Brussels, Belgium. The Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque de Bruxelles is one of very few colleges in the world to provide circus training leading to a diploma, along with the Centre National des Arts du Cirque de Châlons-en-Champagne in France, the Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal, Canada, and the National Centre for Circus Arts in London, UK. In September 2003, the college was officially recognized by the French Community of Belgium and became the 17th institute of Higher Education in the Arts. ESAC offers a three-year course of study, at the end of which the student obtains a bachelor's degree in the performing arts and broadcasting and communication techniques, with a major in circus arts. The circus disciplines taught at ESAC include specialised circus skills, dynamic and static acrobatics, trampoline, specific physical preparation, dance and theatre. The curriculum also includes courses in stage management for circus, circus engineering, law, arts production, science and applied science in the circus arts (anatomy, biomechanics and dietetics). The school's mission is to train artists who will be able to integrate their research and creation into the evolution of the contemporary circus, creating new forms and new approaches to collective creation.

CERIA (French) or COOVI (Dutch) is a Brussels metro station on the western branch of line 5. It is located in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels (Belgium). It serves the Food and Chemical Industries Education and Research Center (CERIA/COOVI), after which it is named. The station opened on 15 September 2003 as part of the Bizet–Erasme/Erasmus extension of former line 1B including the stations Erasme/Erasmus, Eddy Merckx and La Roue/Het Rad. Following the reorganisation of the Brussels metro on 4 April 2009, it is served by line 5.

Astrid Park (French: Parc Astrid, Dutch: Astridpark) is an urban public park in the municipality of Anderlecht in Brussels, Belgium. The park was inaugurated on 13 August 1911 and was named the Parc du Meir/Meirpark ("Meir Park") until 1935, when the mayor of Anderlecht decided to change its name in memory of Queen Astrid, the first wife of King Leopold III, who died in a car crash that year. Since 1917, football club R.S.C. Anderlecht plays its home matches in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium (previously known as the Emile Versé Stadium), located within the park. Hence, the stadium is sometimes metonymically referred to as Parc Astrid. This park is served by the metro stations Saint Guidon/Sint Guido and Veeweyde/Veeweide on line 5 of the Brussels metro.

The Lotto Park is a football stadium in the municipality of Anderlecht, Brussels. It is home to R.S.C. Anderlecht. It also hosted the UEFA Euro 1972 semifinal Hungary against Soviet Union, as well as several games of the Belgium national football team.

The Battle of Anderlecht, sometimes referred to as the Fight of Anderlecht, took place in Anderlecht near Brussels in Belgium between the Habsburg monarchy and the French Republic on 13 November 1792, during the first year of the French Revolutionary Wars.

Saint-Guidon (French) or Sint Guido (Dutch) is a Brussels metro station on the western branch of line 5. It is located in the municipality of Anderlecht, in the western part of Brussels (Belgium). The station opened on 6 October 1982 as part of the Beekkant–Saint Guidon extension of former line 1B. Prior to the opening of an extension to Veeweyde/Veeweide on 5 July 1985, the station was the western terminus of the metro. Following the reorganisation of the network on 4 April 2009, it is served by line 5.

The Place de la Vaillance (Dutch: Dapperheidsplein), meaning "Valour Square", is the main square located in the historical centre of the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht, Belgium. It is served by Saint Guidon/Sint Guido metro station on line 5 of the Brussels Metro.

The Collegiate Church of St. Peter and St. Guido (French: Collégiale Saints-Pierre-et-Guidon, Dutch: Sint-Pieter-en-Sint-Guidokerk) is a Roman Catholic collegiate church located in the centre of Anderlecht, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Guy, the patron saint of the Anderlecht. The church, in Brabantine Gothic style, was built between the 14th and 16th centuries above an earlier Romanesque crypt. Partially attributed to the Flemish architect Jan van Ruysbroeck, it is a notable illustration of late medieval architecture in Brussels. Its neo-Gothic spire dates from the 19th century. The complex was designated a historic monument in 1938.The church is located on the northern side of the Place de la Vaillance/Dapperheidsplein, not far from Erasmus House, the old beguinage of Anderlecht and the Lotto Park (the main football stadium of Anderlecht). The Erasmus House (French: Maison d'Érasme, Dutch: Erasmushuis), also known as the Erasmus House Museum (French: Musée de la Maison d'Érasme, Dutch: Erasmushuismuseum), is a museum in Anderlecht, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium, devoted to the Dutch humanist writer Erasmus of Rotterdam.The house, of late Gothic or early Renaissance style, was built between 1460 and 1515 under the tutelage of Peter Wijchmans, canon and schoolmaster of the chapter of Anderlecht, and a friend of Erasmus. Erasmus stayed in the house for five months from May to October 1521, working on his translation of his Novum Testamentum from Greek into Latin.The house was converted to a museum in 1931. Its garden is split into two parts that both try to adhere to the spirit of Erasmus; one through art and philosophy and the other, designed by the landscape architect René Pechère, through typical medicinal plants from the 16th century.
