Nishigatani Dam (Japanese: 西ヶ谷ダム（再）) is an earthfill dam located in Kyoto Prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for irrigation. The catchment area of the dam is 2 km2. The dam impounds about 3 ha of land when full and can store 250 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started in 1993 and completed in 1996.

Mawari-ike Dam (Japanese: 廻り池) is an earthfill dam located in Kyoto Prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for irrigation. The catchment area of the dam is 5.4 km2. The dam impounds about 10 ha of land when full and can store 950 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was completed in 1880.

Sanga Stadium by Kyocera (サンガスタジアム by Kyocera, Sanga sutajiamu bai kyōsera), formerly known as Kyoto Stadium (京都スタジアム, Kyōto sutajiamu), is a stadium in Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It primarily serves as the home to Kyoto Sanga F.C. of the Japan Professional Football League (J.League). It was completed in early 2020, in time for the 2020 J2 League season. The naming rights were purchased by ceramic company Kyocera at ¥2 billion over 20 years in 2019.

Kameyama Castle (亀山城, Kameyama-jō) is a castle located in Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It guarded the northwest passage into Kyoto for nearly three hundred years. The castle was built by Oda Nobunaga's vassal Akechi Mitsuhide because he needed a front base to conquer Tanba region. He set out for Honnō-ji (Honnō-ji Incident) from the castle in 1582. After the Meiji period revolution, all the remaining structures of the castle were removed or destroyed.In 2019, Akechi Mistuhide`s statue was built in the castle.

Mount Atago is a very common name for peaks all over Japan. Mount Atago (愛宕山, Atago-yama/san) is a 924m mountain in the northwestern part of Ukyo-ku, in the city of Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The Atago Shrine is located on the top of the mountain.

Atago Shrine (愛宕神社, Atago-jinja) is a Shinto shrine on Mount Atago, the northwest of Kyoto, Japan. Enshrined is Atago Gongen who protects Kyoto from fire. Shugendō practices and a place for worship are known from the eighth century. The late-Kamakura period Honden has been designated an Important Cultural Property. (Actually, the late-Kamakura period Honden is located at another Atago-jinja in Kameoka, to the northwest of Kyoto : 35°2′28″N 135°35′13″E[1]) Atago Jinja is the head of nine hundred Atago shrines throughout Japan.

Tsukinowa-dera or Gatsurin-ji (月輪寺) is a Buddhist temple near Mount Atago in Ukyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan. The temple was first founded in 781, it is associated with the Shugendō practices of Kūya and Hōnen. Its treasures include eight Heian period statues. Images of Amida Nyorai and Kūya chanting the nembutsu are amongst those designated Important Cultural Properties.

The Hozu River (保津川, Hozugawa) is a part of Katsura River in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The river begins in the mountains near Kameoka, a town northwest of Kyoto City. It snakes into the Arashiyama section of western Kyoto before changing its name to Katsura River. The Hozu River is considered scenic, and is known primarily for its association with Hozugawa Kudari, literally "down the Hozu river", a sightseeing whitewater boat that goes downstream from Kameoka to Arashiyama. Hozugawa Kudari is especially popular in the fall, when the Japanese Maple leaves change colors, and in the Spring, when the sakura, or Japanese cherry tree, blooms. The trip usually takes about two hours. In August, 2006, a rock fell from the mountains that line the river and hit a woman on the head, seriously injuring her. Overall, however, Hozugawa Kudari is considered safe.

Otagi Nenbutsu-ji (Japanese: 愛宕念仏寺) is a Buddhist temple in the Arashiyama neighborhood of Kyoto, Japan. Otagi Nenbutsu-ji was founded by Empress Shōtoku in the middle of the eighth century. Though was destroyed by the flooding of the Kamo River, it was rebuilt as an offshoot of Enryaku-ji, a nearby temple. In the 13th century, it was again destroyed during a civil war. The temple was moved to its current location in 1922, later suffering typhoon damage in 1950. The gate of the temple contains two fierce-looking Nio statues. Inside the temple are more than 1200 rakan, stone statues representing the disciples of Buddha. These statues, in keeping with rakan traditions, are generally humorous. The sculptures were donated in 1981 in honor of the refurbishment of the temple. Most were carved by amateurs, taught by sculptor Kocho Nishimura.

Adashino Nenbutsu-ji (化野念仏寺, Adashino Nenbutsuji) is a Buddhist temple in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan. In 811 Kūkai is said to have founded a temple, then Honen altered it to the present Nenbutsuji. Situated high on a hill overlooking the city from the northwest, it sits in an area where since the Heian period people abandoned the bodies of the dead, exposing them to the wind and rain. Now, some eight thousand Buddhist statuettes, which had been scattered around Adashino then collected about 1903, memorialize the souls of the dead. During its well-known 'sento kuyo' ceremony dedicated to the spirits of the dead on the evenings of 23 and 24 August, about ten thousand stone statues are lit up with candles. In its name, Adashino is a place name; Nenbutsu refers to a mantra (recitation of a buddha's name).
