The Castle of Dinerth (Welsh: Castell Dineirth, Castell Dinerth, or Castell Allt Craig Arth) is a Welsh castle located near Aberarth, Ceredigion, west Wales that was completed c. AD 1110. It is also known as Hero Castle, presumably from the Norse hiro ("king's carl").

Foelallt is a small village in the community of Ciliau Aeron, Ceredigion, Wales, which is 66.2 miles (106.6 km) from Cardiff and 180.2 miles (290 km) from London. Foelallt is represented in the Senedd by Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru) and is part of the Ceredigion constituency in the House of Commons.

Ciliau Aeron (English: where the valley of the river Aeron narrows) is a community and small village 4 miles from Aberaeron in Ceredigion, Wales on the left bank of the River Aeron. The community includes the village of Cilcennin. The word Ciliau comes from the Welsh for corners. Aeron Corners in English refers to the many bends taken by the river through this area. The village post office has long gone, but Ciliau has a small, Welsh-speaking school and a village hall. There are fishing lakes in the village, as well as a garden nursery, an organic farm shop and a self-catering holiday centre for special needs children operated by the Ty Glyn Davis Trust. The Ty Glyn Trust runs an eighteenth-century walled garden alongside the River Aeron; it is open to the public from dawn to dusk, every day of the week, without charge. The Dylan Thomas Trail runs through Ciliau Aeron, passing the Tyglyn Aeron Hotel, which had been the home from the early 1900s of the poet and writer, Evelyn Anna Lewes (1873-1961). She is entered in the Dictionary of Welsh Biography. The publisher, Geoffrey Faber, bought the mansion in 1930 and T. S. Eliot took his holidays there throughout the 1930s.The dockworker-poet James Hughes (Iago Trichrug) 1799-1844 was born in Ciliau Aeron at Neuadd-ddu.The poet-priest David Davis (Dafis Castellhywel) 1745-1827 had his first ministry in the village's Unitarian chapel.Just a mile away is the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate. Ciliau Aeron Halt was a station on the line from Lampeter to Aberaeron that closed in 1951.

The River Arth is a small river that rises in the hills near Bethania, Ceredigion, Wales, and runs west for 15 miles (24 km) and discharges into Cardigan Bay at Aberarth. Despite its small size it is one of the few rivers in Britain which has a bore when the incoming tide cause a tidal wave to run upstream. The bore is only a few inches high and it runs only for a short distance upstream; beyond the road bridge in Aberarth the terrain rises steeply, preventing the bore propagating any further. In the 1970s, the River Arth suffered severe intermittent agricultural pollution from a dairy unit not far from the village but improved pollution control and a change of ownership of the farm rectified that position.

Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron is a bilingual comprehensive school for pupils aged between 11 and 18 years. The school is situated in the town of Aberaeron in Ceredigion, Wales. The school had 581 pupils on roll in 2022.34% of pupils are from homes in which Welsh is the main language. However, 70% of pupils speak Welsh as a first language or to an equal standard. As of 2016, over 80% of pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 study at least three examination subjects through the medium of Welsh.The school ranked very low in the Welsh league tables (153rd out of 217 schools in Wales) in 2013. The school reached first position in the Western Mail league tables the following year (2014). The school achieved a 5 star rating (the highest possible ranking) for teaching; attainment and finance. According to the paper the “School’s mission to ‘provide a inclusive centre of excellence within a bilingual community’ has doubtless been achieved.”

Aberarth is a village in Ceredigion, Wales, in the community of Dyffryn Arth, on the southern end of Cardigan Bay between Aberystwyth and Cardigan at the mouth of the River Arth on the A487 road. The Wales Coast Path passes through the village.

Pont Aberarth, also known as the Llanddewi-Aberarth Bridge, is a single-arched grade II listed bridge, which spans the River Arth in the village of Aberarth, Ceredigion, Wales. It was completed in 1849, and carries the A487 trunk road between Cardigan and Aberystwyth.

Dihewyd is a parish in the county of Ceredigion, West Wales with a population of about 200 people. It is 5 miles (8 km) from Aberaeron and 8 miles (13 km) (northwest by west) from Lampeter. This parish is situated near the Vale of Aëron and not far from the river Mydur. There is also a primary school in the village called Ysgol Gynradd Dihewyd which currently has about 30 pupils attending. Dihewyd no longer has a local shop, pub or post office - the nearest being three miles away at Ystrad Aeron and it only has one bus service (Bwcabus on Wednesdays) to the nearby harbour town of Aberaeron as well as a school bus taking pupils to Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron. It does have a public telephone box (but it has had the phone removed) and, since October 2015, is connected to fibre broadband. It also has a chapel, church and village hall. Treberfedd is known as the highest point of Dihewyd as well as the highest point of central Ceredigion. Despite not having a local shop since 1876, the local primary school now has a Siop Sied open to the public. A shop inside a shed at the side of the school that trusts the members of the public to go into it and buy things without anyone actually managing the shop, people only supply it with things like eggs, fruit, vegetables etc.
