South Freeport is an unincorporated village in the town of Freeport, Cumberland County, Maine, United States. The community is located on Casco Bay, 2.6 miles (4.2 km) south of the village of Freeport. South Freeport has a post office, with ZIP code 04078.South Freeport, the largest of Freeport's waterfront villages, once had four shipyards. Other businesses included fishing, canning and farming. In 1903, the Casco Castle and Amusement Park was built here by Amos F. Gerald of Fairfield to encourage travel by trolley cars. The grounds featured a hotel and restaurant, a picnic area, a baseball field, and a small zoo. The hotel burned in 1914, but its stone tower was spared in the blaze. It stands today on private property. The best place to view the tower is from nearby Winslow Park.

Winslow Memorial Park (also known as Winslow Park) is a coastal park and campground in Freeport, Maine, United States. Set in 90 acres (0.14 sq mi), it is located near the southern end of the Harraseeket River, near its mouth with Casco Bay, at the eastern end of Staples Point Road. The northern side of the park looks out over Staples Cove. The park, which is owned by the Town of Freeport, is a popular camping ground between May and October annually, with around one hundred plots set out either side of Winslow Park Way, which leads northeast to the tip of the peninsula, known as Stockbridge Point, on which the park is located. A children's playground is located at the western end of the park, near the parking lot. A self-funded facility, it grossed revenue of $346,000 in 2019 and $255,000 in 2020, the first full year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Harraseeket River is a 3.2-mile-long (5.1 km) tidal river in the town of Freeport within the U.S. state of Maine. It forms a northern arm of Casco Bay.

Randall Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Freeport, Maine, United States. Located at the corner of Lower Main Street (U.S. Route 1) and Desert Road, it contains seventeen headstones, the earliest dating to 1831. The small plot contains pine trees both in and around its low dry stone wall.The cemetery was part of the Randall family farm, run by Isaac (1770–1850) and Mercy Randall (1776–1840), a site now occupied by a Shaw's grocery store. The farm house and buildings were on the Shaw's side of the street, then a dirt track, while a barn stood on the opposite side of today's Lower Main Street. All the buildings were demolished when construction on the ramps to and from Interstate 295 began.

Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is a public recreation area located on Casco Bay on the southeastern side of Freeport, Maine. The state park occupies 244 acres (99 ha) on a narrow peninsula, Wolfe's Neck, that runs between Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River. It includes white pine and hemlock forests, salt marsh estuary, and rocky shore. The park is managed by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

L.L.Bean is an American privately held retail company that was founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean. The company, headquartered in the place in which it was founded, in Freeport, Maine, specializes in clothing and outdoor recreation equipment.

The Captain Greenfield Pote House is an historic house located on Wolfe's Neck Road in Freeport, Maine, United States. Built c. 1750 and supposedly moved to this location in 1765, it is Freeport's oldest surviving building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, and is part of the Harraseeket Historic District. The property is owned by the Wolfe's Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment.

Little River is a 4.1-mile-long (6.6 km) tributary of Casco Bay in Maine, United States. The river's source is around 0.4 miles (0.64 km) west of Highland Road in Brunswick. It flows southwest, passing beneath Newfield Road, Flying Point Road and, at its mouth, Burnett Road in Freeport. Just northeast of its mouth at Casco Bay, a 60-foot-long (18 m), single-track steel stringer bridge carries Burnett Road over the river. It was built in 2009 and, as of 2016, an average of 300 vehicles cross it daily.The shores of Little River are believed to have been seasonal fishing settlements historically.

Freeport station is a passenger rail station in Freeport, Maine, which is located on Amtrak's Downeaster line. The Downeaster operates from North Station in Boston to Brunswick Maine Street Station in Brunswick, Maine, via the Portland Transportation Center in Portland, Maine. Freeport was part of a $38.3 million project to rehabilitate 30 miles (48 km) of track between Portland and Brunswick. Most of the money came from the federal government with an additional $500,000 of state money spent on platforms on Freeport and Brunswick. The first official service to the station was on November 1, 2012.

The E.B. Mallett Office Building is a historic commercial building on Mill Street in Freeport, Maine. Now part of the Freeport Village Station shopping complex, it is an 1888 Italianate brick building designed by Portland architect Francis Fassett for Freeport's leading businessman of the period. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Cousins River (Native American: Sisquisic) is a 4.7-mile-long (7.6 km), primarily tidal river in southern Maine. Rising in the town of Freeport at the junction of Harvey Brook and Merrill Brook, it flows south and forms, for most of its course, the boundary between Freeport and Yarmouth. It flows into the Royal River just west of its mouth in Casco Bay. The river, Cousins Island and Littlejohn Island are named after Englishman John Cousins (c. 1596–1682), who emigrated from Marlborough, Wiltshire.
