Pattenburg is an unincorporated community located within Union Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States.The Norfolk Southern Railway's Lehigh Line (formerly the mainline of the Lehigh Valley Railroad), runs through Pattenburg and Lehigh Line's south entrance to the Pattenburg Tunnel is located in Pattenburg.

West Portal is an unincorporated community located within Bethlehem Township, in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.The community is centered at the intersection of Route 173 and County Route 643, approximately 5.1 miles (8.2 km) southwest of Hampton. Alexandria Township is a township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 4,809, a decrease of 129 (−2.6%) from the 2010 census count of 4,938, which in turn reflected an increase of 240 (+5.1%) from the 4,698 counted in the 2000 census.Alexandria was formed by Royal charter on March 5, 1765, from portions of Bethlehem Township, and was incorporated as one of New Jersey's initial 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. Portions of the township were taken to form Frenchtown (April 4, 1867), Holland Township (April 13, 1874, restored to Alexandria on March 4, 1878, and recreated on March 11, 1879) and Milford (April 15, 1911). The township was named for James Alexander, a surveyor who served as New Jersey Attorney General and who had acquired 10,000 acres (4,000 ha) of land in the area in 1744.

Bloomsbury is a borough in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 792, a decrease of 78 (−9.0%) from the 2010 census count of 870, which in turn reflected a decline of 16 (−1.8%) from the 886 counted in the 2000 census.Bloomsbury was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 30, 1905, from portions of Bethlehem Township.Bloomsbury was once known as "Johnson's Iron Works", owned by Robert Johnson, on the north bank of the river. The current name is derived either from the Bloom family, influential in the early history of the town, or from the iron ore processed into masses of wrought iron that are known as "blooms".

Mechlin's Corner Tavern, also known as Peter Mechling's Corner Tavern, is a historic building located at the intersection of County Route 625 (Mechlin Corner Road) and County Route 579 (Bloomsbury Road) in the Mechlings Corner, New Jersey section of Union Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey and near Pittstown. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1974, for its significance in architecture and commerce.

As of the 2021–22 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,809 students and 133.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.6:1.In 2016, the district announced that it was pursuing a $30,000 study to consider merger / consolidation with the Greenwich Township School District in Warren County, citing the "financial instability" the Bloomsbury district faces based on the way the Phillipsburg district calculates the costs for students sent for high school. The notice to residents announcing the feasibility study stated that the Greenwich district was chosen based on the quality of its academic programs, shared superintendent and business administrator, proximity, financial stability and shared sending relationship with Phillipsburg for high school.

The John Van Syckle House is a historic Federal house located at 195 Rummel Road near Little York in Holland Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. Built in 1830, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 2, 2012, for its significance in architecture.

Mount Salem Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1864 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 19, 1988.

Mount Salem Vineyards is a boutique winery in the Pittstown section of Alexandria Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. Formerly a produce, grain, and dairy farm, the vineyard was first planted in 2005, and opened to the public in 2010. Peter Leiter, the proprietor of Mount Salem, founded the Appalachian Highlands Vinifera Society, whose mission is to enhance the quality of wine grape growing and winemaking in Northern New Jersey. Mount Salem has 7 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 1,000 cases of wine per year. The winery is located at over 600 feet above sea level on Mount Salem, the mountain for which the farm is named.
