Torrington Square is a square in Bloomsbury, owned by the University of London, located in central London, England. Today it is a square in name only, most of the houses having been demolished by the university. The southern end of the square is dominated by the University of London's Senate House. Birkbeck College and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) are located here. To the southwest is Malet Street and to the southeast is Russell Square. The square is the site of a weekly farmers' market, held on Thursdays.

Malet Street is a street in Bloomsbury, in the London Borough of Camden, Central London, England. It runs between Torrington Place and the British Museum, parallel to Gower Street and Tottenham Court Road.

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a public research university in Bloomsbury, central London, and a member institution of the University of London that specialises in public health and tropical medicine. The institution was founded in 1899 by Sir Patrick Manson, after a donation from the Indian Parsi philanthropist B. D. Petit. Since its foundation it has become one of the most highly placed institutions in global rankings in the fields of public health and infectious diseases.The annual income of the institution for 2020–21 was £244.2 million, of which £167.6 million was from research grants and contracts, with expenditures totalling £235.2 million during the same period.

College Hall is a fully catered hall of residence of the University of London. It is situated on Malet Street in the Bloomsbury district of central London. It is an intercollegiate hall, and as such provides accommodation for full-time students at constituent colleges and institutions of the University, including King's College, University College, Queen Mary, the London School of Economics and the School of Oriental and African Studies amongst others.

The Endangered Languages Archive (ELAR) is a digital archive for materials on endangered languages, based at Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW). The Archive preserves digital collections, including audio and video recordings, of endangered languages around the world. ELAR is part of the worldwide community of language archives (Delaman and the Open Language Archives Community). ELAR's main aim is to preserve and publish collections of audio and video recordings, transcriptions and translations, dictionaries, and primers in and of endangered languages created with and by speakers of the endangered languages. The archive also digitises legacy collections in analogue formats saving them from deterioration and making them accessible to the speaker and their descendants, scholars, and the public.

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA ) is a drama school in London, England, that provides vocational conservatoire training for theatre, film, television, and radio. It is based in the Bloomsbury area of Central London, close to the Senate House complex of the University of London and is a founding member of the Federation of Drama Schools. It is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom, founded in 1904 by Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree. It moved to buildings on Gower Street in 1905. It was granted a Royal Charter in 1920 and a new theatre was built on Malet Street, behind the Gower Street buildings that was opened by Edward, Prince of Wales, in 1921. It received its first government subsidy in 1924. RADA currently has five theatres and a cinema. The school’s Principal Industry Partner is Warner Bros. Entertainment. RADA offers a number of foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Its higher education awards are validated by King's College London (KCL). The Royal Patron of the school is King Charles III, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. The President is Sir Kenneth Branagh, who succeeded Richard, Lord Attenborough, following his death in 2014. The Chairman is Marcus Ryder, who succeeded Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen in 2021. Its Vice-Chairman was Alan Rickman until his death in 2016. The current Principal of the Academy is Niamh Dowling, who succeeded Edward Kemp in 2022.

Coward College was a dissenting academy at Byng Place, Torrington Square, London. Intended for the education of future nonconformist ministers of religion, it was in operation from 1833 to 1850. It was the successor to Wymondley College in Little Wymondley, Hertfordshire and the precursor, via a merger with two other colleges, of New College London.

SOAS University of London (; the School of Oriental and African Studies) is a public research university in London, England, and a member institution of the federal University of London. Founded in 1916, SOAS is located in the Bloomsbury area of central London. SOAS is one of the world's leading institutions for the study of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Its library is one of the five national research libraries in England. SOAS also houses the Brunei Gallery, which hosts a programme of changing contemporary and historical exhibitions from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East with the aim of presenting and promoting cultures from these regions. The annual income of the institution for 2021–22 was £98.0 million of which £6.1 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £117.8 million. SOAS is divided into three faculties: Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Languages and Cultures, and Faculty of Law and Social Sciences which includes the SOAS School of Law. The university offers around 350 bachelor's degree combinations, more than 100 one-year master's degrees, and PhD programmes in nearly every department. The university has produced several heads of states, government ministers, diplomats, central bankers, Supreme Court judges, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and many other notable leaders around the world. The Slade Centre for Electronic Media in Fine Art (SCEMFA) opened in 1995 at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. The centre provides opportunities for research into electronic media and fine art with the goal of contributing to debate on national and international levels.

The Warburg Institute is a research institution associated with the University of London in central London, England. A member of the School of Advanced Study, its focus is the study of cultural history and the role of images in culture – cross-disciplinary and global. It is concerned with the histories of art and science, and their relationship with superstition, magic, and popular beliefs. The researches of the Warburg Institute are historical, philological and anthropological. It is dedicated to the study of the survival and transmission of cultural forms – whether in literature, art, music or science – across borders and from the earliest times to the present including especially the study of the influence of classical antiquity on all aspects of European civilisation. Based originally in Hamburg, Germany, in 1933 the collection was moved to London, where it became incorporated into the University of London in 1944.

Bloomsbury Institute is a higher education provider in central London offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in business management, accounting, and law. The Institute was founded in 2002 as the London School of Business and Management and adopted its current name in 2018.In 2022, Bloomsbury Institute partnered with Glyndwr University to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. They re-designed their undergraduate degrees and launched a brand-new MBA and MSc in Management. Prior to 2016, Bloomsbury Institute concentrated on delivering HND programmes, awarded by Pearson Education, after which it shifted to primarily offering degrees validated by the University of Northampton. The last recruitment onto HND courses was in September 2015 and the first recruitment onto the new BA courses was in January 2016.Located in central London, Zone 1, Bloomsbury Institute students have access to University of London’s libraries and social spaces through a long-term relationship with Birkbeck College. The majority of teaching takes place at 373-375 Euston Road. In 2022, Lord David Neuberger, Former President of the Supreme Court, opened Bloomsbury Institute’s Law Clinic, offering free legal advice to people who can’t afford a solicitor and do not qualify for legal aid. Initially focusing on Housing Law, the Clinic is run by academics from the Institute’s Law Faculty and local solicitors. Bloomsbury Institute students can also volunteer at the Clinic, as Law Clinic Advisors.Bloomsbury Institute launched an in-house radio station, Bloomsbury Radio, in 2020. The station broadcasts a range of programmes and provides opportunities for students who wish to train as presenters as well as off-air in production, scheduling and compliance.In 2020, Bloomsbury Institute won a landmark case against the Office for Students. In August 2020, the Court of Appeal overturned the Office for Students’ decision to not include Bloomsbury Institute on the register of providers, and ordered the Office for Students to reconsider Bloomsbury's application for registration.Bloomsbury Institute is partnered with Unlock, as part of their 'Ban the Box' campaign. In 2019, they became the first higher education provider in the UK to no longer ask anyone wishing to study at the Institute to disclose past criminal convictions.Bloomsbury Institute is regularly reviewed by the Quality Assurance Agency. The last full review, in October 2015, noted that there had been a change of validator for degree programmes from the University of South Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University to the University of Northampton. The review found that the institute met UK expectations for the maintenance of academics standards, for the quality of student learning opportunities and for the quality of information about learning opportunities, and commended the institute for its enhancement of student learning opportunities. A monitoring visit in 2016 find that all recommendations of the 2015 report had been implemented in full. It also noted that the new admissions policy in place from February 2016 was "underpinned by a commitment to fair access", and that 65% of students were from black and ethnic minorities background and 20% declared a disability.

Keppel Street is a street in the London Borough of Camden that runs from the junction of Store Street and Gower Street in the west to Malet Street in the east. Before the construction of Senate House, it continued on to join Russell Square.
