Battle of Frastanz

Frastanz is a market town in the district of Feldkirch in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. In former times it was known for its production of tobacco.

The Samina (also: Saminabach) is a whitewater river of Liechtenstein and Austria. It is a tributary of the Ill. The Samina originates in Liechtenstein. In the course of time, it formed the Saminatal (Samina Valley), the most western valley of Rätikon and side valley of the Walgau. The Saminatal makes up to one third of the territory of Liechtenstein. It has a length of approximately 17 km (11 mi) (Liechtenstein: 12 km (7.5 mi) (including its source rivulets, the 2nd longest river of the principality), Austria: 5 km (3.1 mi)).

Frastanz railway station (German: Bahnhof Frastanz) is a railway station in Frastanz in the Feldkirch district of the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. It was opened on 1 July 1872, together with the rest of the Vorarlberg railway. The station is owned and operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

The Vorarlberg Railway (German: Vorarlbergbahn) denotes a through line running through the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Its route is similar to the Rheintal/Walgau Autobahn from the border between Lindau and Hörbranz to Bludenz, where it connects to the Arlberg Railway. The entire route in Austria is owned and is operated up to Lindau-Insel by the Austrian Federal Railways (Österreichische Bundesbahnen, ÖBB). The Vorarlberg Railway is the western continuation of the Arlberg Railway (ÖBB timetable number AT 401) through the Walgau valley and the Vorarlberg section of the Rhine Valley.

Schattenburg is a castle, museum and restaurant in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg (Austria). Schattenburg is 480 metres (1,570 ft) above sea level.[1]. Its name is assumedly derived from the word stem "schatte, schad" meaning "protection, shield".

Feldkirch railway station (German: Bahnhof Feldkirch) serves the city of Feldkirch, in the Feldkirch district of the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. Opened in 1872, it forms the junction between the Vorarlberg railway and the Feldkirch–Buchs railway. The station is owned and operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

Feldkirch (German pronunciation: [ˈfɛltkɪʁç] (listen)) is a medieval town in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg, bordering on Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Feldkirch Cathedral (German: Dompfarrkirche St. Nikolaus) is a Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas in the city of Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Austria. It is part of the old town and is the largest Gothic church in Vorarlberg. It has been the cathedral of the Diocese of Feldkirch since it was established in 1968.

Feldkirch Sickhouse (Siechenhaus), Feldkirch, Vorarlberg, Austria, is listed an Austrian monument of cultural significance. The group of two buildings was erected in the late 16th or early 17th century. Far outside the city of Feldkirch a leper house was founded in the 14th century. The former building might be destroyed in the year 1557. Since April 1985 a youth hostel is located in main building. The outhouse is now a shelter for the bus stop and the entrance for an underpass of the Reichsstraße.

Feldkirch Amberg railway station (German: Bahnhof Feldkirch-Amberg) is a railway station in the Levis district of the town of Feldkirch in the Feldkirch district of the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. It is located near the Amberg Castle (Schloss Amberg) and owned and operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The station was opened on 1 July 1872, together with the rest of the Vorarlberg railway. It is one of five stations in the city of Feldkirch. The others are Altenstadt, Feldkirch, Gisingen and Tisis.
