Wetter House

Kiah Hall is a building in Savannah, Georgia, United States. Regarded as "one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in Georgia", it is one of the original 1856 buildings of the country's only intact Antebellum Period railroad facility. Formerly named the Gray Building, of Savannah's Central of Georgia Railroad depot, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. It is now home of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Museum of Art.

Central of Georgia Railway Company Shop Property is the former administration building of the Central of Georgia Railway. The site complex includes several notable structures, including a freight house, a cotton yard with brick gates which it shares with the Central of Georgia Depot and Trainshed, and a brick viaduct leading to a junction with the line along Louisville Road west of Boundary Street and the Savannah and Ogeechee Canal. The tracks were also located next to "The Gray Building," a Greek Revival structure built in 1856, which the C&G moved their headquarters to. This building became known as "The Red Building." The Central Railroad was acquired by the Southern Railway in 1963, leading to the decline of all CG buildings in Savannah. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 5, 1970. The CG Depot and Trainshed were added to the NRHP and then declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976, and the Central of Georgia Railroad: Savannah Shops and Terminal Facilities were split off from the station onto its own registry in 1978. Today it is known as Clark Hall (formerly Eichberg Hall), a branch of the Savannah College of Art and Design Museum of Art. The Gray Building was the original museum, which was named Kiah Hall in 1993.

The Atlantic Greyhound Bus Terminal, at 109 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Savannah, Georgia was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.It was designed by architect George D. Brown in Streamline Moderne style. It was opened in 1938 and operated until 1965. It made intercity bus travel possible for residents of Savannah.John Marisano bought the building and since 2018 it houses The Grey Bar & Restaurant.

The SCAD Museum of Art was founded in 2002 as part of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia, and originally was known as the Earle W. Newton Center for British American Studies. The museum's permanent collection of more than 4,500 pieces includes works of haute couture, drawings, painting, sculpture, photography, prints and more. The SCAD Museum of Art is a teaching museum, serving Savannah College of Art and Design students and as well as members of the community and other visitors. A focal point is the Walter O. Evans Center for African American Studies, a multidisciplinary center for the study, understanding and appreciation of African American culture, art and literature. It is complemented by the new André Leon Talley Gallery, named for the Vogue contributing editor and SCAD Board of Trustees member. On Oct. 29, 2011, the SCAD museum opened its doors to a new era, unveiling the most extensive rehabilitation project the university has undertaken since its inception. The revitalized museum features new galleries and classrooms, a 250-seat theater, a terrace and outdoor projection screen, a conservation studio, a museum café, as well as a 12-foot-long orientation touch table. An 86-foot-tall steel and glass lantern welcomes visitors and elegantly redefines the Savannah city skyline.

Central of Georgia Depot and Trainshed is a former passenger depot and trainshed constructed in 1860 by the Central of Georgia Railway (CofG) before the outbreak of the American Civil War. This pair of buildings was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976, a listing that was expanded in 1978 to the old Central of Georgia Railway Savannah Shops and Terminal Facilities.Located on the northwest corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Louisville Road in the city's historic downtown, the red brick passenger terminal of the CofG complex houses the Savannah Visitor Center and the Savannah History Museum. The site complex includes several notable structures, including cotton yard, a blacksmith shop, a brick viaduct and the trainshed, as well as an office car and caboose. It is owned by the Coastal Heritage Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of coastal Georgia and adjacent regions. The Savannah History Museum is located at 303 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (Georgia State Route 25 Connector). The museum is housed inside the old passenger terminal. It contains artifacts and exhibits relating to the history of Savannah from its establishment to the current time. The shops and terminal facilities were listed separately on June 2, 1978, and the Coastal Heritage Society opened the museum on the site in 1989.

Trinity Methodist Church, located in Savannah, Georgia, was built in 1848. It stands in the southwestern trust/civic block of Telfair Square. The trustees of Wesley Chapel, named for Methodist preacher John Wesley and located on what was formerly known as South Broad Street (today's Oglethorpe Avenue), purchased the land on which the church stands in 1848 in order to build a sanctuary to house their growing congregation. Its foundation stone was laid on February 14, 1848. The first service was held in the Corinthian order structure, designed by John B. Hogg, in 1850.In 1895, Robert McIntire donated funds for the construction of a Sunday School building. This building was replaced in 1927 by a modern, four-storey building. This building was destroyed by fire in 1991. The sanctuary was renovated in 1967, restoring the original 1848 design. In 2005, the church's exterior was restored, a project which won Historic Savannah Foundation's Award of Excellence.The church's senior pastor is Ben Gosden.

Telfair Museums, in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, was the first public art museum in the Southern United States. Founded through the bequest of Mary Telfair (1791–1875), a prominent local citizen, and operated by the Georgia Historical Society until 1920, the museum opened in 1886 in the Telfair family’s renovated Regency style mansion, known as the Telfair Academy. The museum currently contains a collection of over 4,500 American and European paintings, sculptures, and works on paper, housed in three buildings: the 1818 Telfair Academy (formerly the Telfair family home); the 1816 Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters, which are both National Historic Landmarks designed by British architect William Jay in the early nineteenth century; and the contemporary Jepson Center for the Arts, designed by Moshe Safdie and completed in 2006.

The Telfair Academy is a historic mansion at 121 Barnard Street in Savannah, Georgia. It was designed by William Jay and built in 1818, and is one of a small number of Jay's surviving works. It is one of three sites owned by Telfair Museums. Originally a family townhouse belonging to the Telfair family, it became a free art museum in 1886, and thus one of the first 10 art museums in America, and the oldest public art museum in the South. Its first director, elected in 1883, was artist Carl Ludwig Brandt, who spent winters in Savannah. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976.

The Bulloch–Habersham House (originally the Archibald Bulloch House) was a mansion in Savannah, Georgia, United States. Completed in 1820, to a design by noted architect William Jay, it stood at the corner of Barnard Street and West Perry Street, in the southwestern trust lot of Orleans Square, until its demolition in 1916. It was replaced by what is now Savannah Civic Center. Historian John D. Duncan described the building's demise as "one of the worst cases of metropolitan malfeasance to be documented in an era when the preservation movement was just beginning to gain attention."In 1819, during the building's construction, Jay was fined $30 for obstructing Barnard Street.Originally the home of Archibald Stobo Bulloch Jr. (whose father was Georgia's first non-royal head of state), the home contained several pieces of furniture by New York City cabinetmaker Charles-Honoré Lannuier. Savannah's great fire of 1820 decimated Bulloch's fortune, and he was forced to sell his family's home to John Morel and David Leion. Morel and Leion converted the mansion into a boarding house. In 1834, it was purchased by Robert Habersham, a Savannah merchant and planter. After Habersham's death in 1870, it passed to his son, William Neyle Habersham. The home was maintained by Habersham's heirs until 1905, six years after William's death. In 1915, it was purchased by the City of Savannah, shortly after which it was demolished. The house had a broad central hall with two 20-foot wide rooms on each side, a circular domed drawing room, a spiral staircase cantilevered within a circle of six Corinthian columns, unusual tripartite windows on the main floor, and a double drawing room with Corinthian and Ionic column screens. A figural mantel in the style of Richard Westmacott Jr., graced the north-east drawing room, and carved Egyptian masks were part of the decorative vocabulary.Habersham Memorial Hall, in Atlanta, Georgia, was designed to replicate the home. It was completed in 1923.

Bird Girl is a sculpture made in 1936 by Sylvia Shaw Judson in Lake Forest, Illinois. It was sculpted at Ragdale, her family's summer home, and achieved fame when it was featured on the cover of the 1994 non-fiction novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Originally exhibited as Girl with Bowls at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1938, it was also exhibited as Fountain Figure, Standing Figure, and Peasant Girl. A 1967 book by Judson first referred to it as Bird Girl.

Orleans Square is one of the 22 squares of Savannah, Georgia, United States. It is located in the middle row of the city's five rows of squares, on Barnard Street and West McDonough Street, and was laid out in 1815, shortly after the event it commemorates: General Andrew Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans that January. It is south of Telfair Square, west of Chippewa Square and north of Pulaski Square. The oldest building on the square is the John Ash House, at 114–116 West Hull Street, which dates to 1817.In the center of the square, the German Memorial Fountain honors early German immigrants to Savannah. Installed in 1989, it commemorates the 250th anniversary of Georgia and of Savannah, as well as the 300th anniversary of the arrival in Philadelphia of thirteen Rhenish families.

William Scarbrough House is a historic house in Savannah, Georgia. Built in 1819, and subjected to a number later alterations, it is nationally significant as an early example of Greek Revival architecture, and is one of the few surviving American works of architect William Jay. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973. It is now home to the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, and it has largely been restored to an early 19th-century appearance. The house was built for William Scarbrough, one of the principal owners of the SS Savannah, which in 1819 became the first steamship in the world to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
