The Schooneveld, also spelled Schoneveld, is a former island turned shoal and namesake adjacent basin at the mouth of the Scheldt river, near the island of Walcheren, off the coast of the Netherlands. The shoal is also referred to as the Droogte van Schooneveld (the dry area of Schooneveld). The basin runs parallel to the continental coast, narrowing from the southwest to the northeast, bounded by the irregular, shifting and very dangerous Raan shoal in the south (located in the mouth of the Westerschelde estuary) and the elongated Thorntonbank in the north. During the Third Anglo-Dutch War two Battles of Schooneveld were fought in June 1673, though only the first of these really took place in the Schooneveld itself. The name means "clear field" in Dutch.

Zedelgem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzeːdəlɣɛm]; West Flemish: Zillegem) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the villages of Aartrijke, Loppem, Veldegem and Zedelgem proper. On January 1, 2019, Zedelgem had a total population of 22,813. The total area is 60.34 km2 (23.30 sq mi) which gives a population density of 378/km2 (980/sq mi). Zedelgem and the surrounding area was home to a prisoner-of-war camp towards the end of World War II. Although the camp was disbanded and prisoners released after the war, the site remained military domain until 1994. It is now a nature park.

The municipality comprises the villages of De Haan proper, Wenduine, Klemskerke, Vlissegem and Harendijk. On January 1, 2020 De Haan had a total population of 12,700. The total area is 46.14 km² (26.2 Miles) which gives a population density of 275.26 inhabitants per km². The coastal village of De Haan proper has maintained a low skyline so its many buildings in Belle Époque style are still prominently visible. The town has an 18-hole golf course situated in its dunes, founded by King Leopold II in 1903. Today, it is the only links course in the country.Its most famous resident was Albert Einstein, who lived in the villa "Savoyarde" for six months in 1933 after leaving Nazi Germany.

Jan Breydel Stadium (Dutch: Jan Breydelstadion, pronounced [jɑm ˈbrɛidəlˌstaːdijɔn]) is a multi-purpose stadium in Sint-Andries, Bruges, Belgium. The city-owned stadium is the home stadium of two top-flight association football clubs, Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge. It is used mainly for football matches, which cost between €5 and €60/seat/match. The stadium was built in 1975. It currently has 29,042 seats. It is named after Jan Breydel, an instigator of the Bruges Matins, the insurgency that led to the Battle of the Golden Spurs. Prior to 1999 and the Euro 2000 Championship the stadium was known as Olympiastadion [oːˈlɪmpijaːˌstaːdijɔn], the Olympic stadium in Dutch, and had 18,000 seats. During December 2015 the pitch was resurfaced with an Italian proprietary hybrid grass (a mix of natural and artificial grass) called Mixto.
