The Coast Tram (Dutch: Kusttram) is a public transport service connecting the cities and towns along the Belgian (West Flanders) coast between De Panne, near the French border, and Knokke-Heist, near the Dutch border. At 67 kilometres (42 mi) in length, it is currently (as of January 2024) the world's longest metre gauge tram line in service, and the second-longest light rail service in the world after the A Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system, as well as one of the few interurban tramways in the world to remain in operation. The line is fully electrified at 600 V DC.

Wenduine is a seaside resort on the Belgian North Sea coast. It is a village with a population of 4000 inhabitants in the West-Flemish municipality of De Haan. Wenduine is served by the Kusttram (Coastal tram) which traverses the entire Belgian coast.

Stalhille is a village in the Belgian province West Flanders in Jabbeke, a municipality in Belgium. The village is located in the northern part of Jabbeke, north of the canal Brugge-Oostende.

The Ostend Science Park is a business incubator and science park of located on the Plassendale site in Ostend (Belgium). The site is aimed towards research and development in the Blue Economy.

Fort Plassendale is a former fortress, located in Oudenburg, Belgium at the crosspoint of the Ghent-Bruges-Ostend canal and the Plassendale-Nieuwpoort canal. The fortress served during the Eighty Years' War (1568–1648), the War of Devolution (1667–1668), the Franco-Dutch War (1672–1678), the Nine Years' War (1688–1697), the War of Spanish Succession (1701–1713) and the war of Austrian Succession (1740–1748). Due to its location, it was mainly of logistical importance. As of 2025, the only remaining structure is the so-called Spanish Toll House (Dutch: Spaans Tolhuis), which is being restored since 2018. The fortress as a whole was built in commission of the Franc of Bruges, according to the plans made by Pieter Pourbus after the Act of abjuration (1581). It served during six different wars and was demolished shortly after the nearby port of Ostend was declared a Free-trade zone by Joseph II in 1781. Among the permanent residents were inn keepers, brewers, lock keepers, contractors, and boat-pulling people (so-called ketsers). In the inheritance documents of the local population, traces were found of porcelain, brought in by the Ostend trading company, as well as pole vaulting material to jump over ditches and specially designed eel forks.

Bredene (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbreːdənə] ; West Flemish: Brèinienge) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality only comprises the town of Bredene proper. On 1 January 2006, Bredene had a total population of 15,118. The total area is 13.08 km² which gives a population density of 1156 inhabitants per km². Bredene is situated at the Belgian coast and makes its income mostly out of tourism. In the period of July and August, the population doubles due to many events that attract people from everywhere. Belgium's only nude beach is at 51°14′58″N 02°57′38″E near tram stop "Bredene Renbaan (Hippodroom)".

The Abbey of St. Peter in Oudenburg (French: abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Audembourg) was an abbey established in 1070 by Arnold of Soissons in Oudenburg, West Flanders, which is now located in present-day Belgium.

The Schooneveld, also spelled Schoneveld, is a former island turned shoal and namesake adjacent basin at the mouth of the Scheldt river, near the island of Walcheren, off the coast of the Netherlands. The shoal is also referred to as the Droogte van Schooneveld (the dry area of Schooneveld). The basin runs parallel to the continental coast, narrowing from the southwest to the northeast, bounded by the irregular, shifting and very dangerous Raan shoal in the south (located in the mouth of the Westerschelde estuary) and the elongated Thorntonbank in the north. During the Third Anglo-Dutch War two Battles of Schooneveld were fought in June 1673, though only the first of these really took place in the Schooneveld itself. The name means "clear field" in Dutch.

Jabbeke railway staiton is a former Belgian railway station on Line 50A from Brussels to Ostend located in Jabbeke, in the commune of the same name, in the Flemish Region of the province of West Flanders. The station was opened in 1838 by Belgian State Railways and was closed to traffic in 1984.

SS Francis Asbury was a Liberty ship built in the United States during World War II. She was named after Francis Asbury, one of the first two bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States. Asbury traveled thousands of miles those living on the frontier to deliver hundreds of sermons each year.

Blankenberge (Dutch: [ˈblɑŋkə(m)bɛrɣə] ; French: Blankenberghe; West Flemish: Blanknberge) is a seaside city and a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the town of Blankenberge proper and the settlement of Uitkerke. On 1 December 2014, Blankenberge had a total population of 19,897. The total area of the municipality is 17.41 km², giving a population density of 1,142 inhabitants per km². The towns inhabitants are called Blankenbergenaars. Blankenberge is one of the most important seaside resorts on the Belgian coast in terms of tourist numbers and hotel reservations. It is a national and to a certain extent international seaside resort, attracting visitors from across northern Europe. It possesses a long sandy beach, and a 350-m long art-deco pier, the Belgium Pier, constructed in 1933. A structure that is unique on the Belgian coast.

Oudenburg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʌudə(m)ˌbʏr(ə)x]; French: Audembourg [odɑ̃buʁ]; West Flemish: Oednburg; Latin: Aldenburgensis) is a city and municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Oudenburg itself and the towns of Ettelgem, Roksem and Westkerke. On January 1, 2006 Oudenburg had a total population of 8,929. The total area is 35.38 km² which gives a population density of 252 inhabitants per km². There was a Roman Castellum on this location, built in the 4th century, whose outline is still visible in the city's streetplan. Some of the stones of the former walls were later used in the construction of the abbey. The former abbey of St. Peter at Oudenburg, founded by Arnold of Soissons, was destroyed during the French Revolution.
