Battle of Azenha Bridge

The Azenha Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte da Azenha) is located in the Azenha neighborhood, in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is situated on the corner of Azenha and Ipiranga avenues.

2013 World Masters Athletics Championships is the 20th in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships that took place in Porto Alegre, Brazil from 16 to 27 October 2013. The main venue was Centro Estadual de Treinamento Esportivo (CETE), which had a newly laid track. Supplemental venues included Estádio Universitário da PUCRS at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Sociedade de Ginástica Porto Alegre (SOGIPA). Non-stadia road races were held at Parque Marinha do Brasil and Orla do Guaíba. This Championships was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC): Estate of Rio Grande Do Sul, City Hall of Porto Alegre, ABRAM (Brazilian Association of Athletics Master) - Francisco Hypolito da Silveira and Group AUSTRAL - Vinicius Garcia. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. In addition to a full range of track and field events, non-stadia events included 8K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk, 20K Race Walk, Half Marathon and Marathon.

Farroupilha Park (Parque Farroupilha in Portuguese), also known as Parque da Redenção, is a major urban park in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. The park was designed by French architect Alfred Agache and founded on September 19, 1935. Near to the Centro Histórico (Historic Centre), Farroupilha Park is located within a polygon formed by José Bonifácio, João Pessoa, Luiz Englert, Setembrina and Osvaldo Aranha Avenues.

Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre is a large teaching hospital located in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Affiliated with Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, it was inaugurated in 1970, gradually becoming a reference for the state of Rio Grande do Sul and southern Brazil. The Joaquim Felizardo Museum of Porto Alegre (Portuguese: Museu de Porto Alegre Joaquim Felizardo) is a historical museum in the city of Porto Alegre, capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is installed at Lopo Gonçalves Manor House, located at 582 João Alfredo Street.

Estádio Olímpico Monumental (Monumental Olympic Stadium, in English), also known as Estádio Olímpico de Porto Alegre (Porto Alegre Olympic Stadium) and Estádio Olímpico (Olympic Stadium) until 1980, is a football stadium in the city of Porto Alegre, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, with a maximum capacity of 45,000 people. The stadium is owned by Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense. Inaugurated on September 19, 1954, the stadium was the home field of the Grêmio football club before being the team moved to Arena do Grêmio in December 2012. Currently, the venue is not in use by the club and suffers from lack of maintenance.

Partenon (literally Parthenon in Portuguese) is a neighbourhood in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It was created by Law 2022 from December 7, 1959. Partenon was named after the Parthenon Literary Society, officially founded in 1868 by a group of writers and intellectuals. In its area, there are two important places nowadays: the São Pedro Psychiatric Hospital, inaugurated in 1884, and the central campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, one of the best private universities in the country. It is considered a middle and lower class neighborhood in Porto Alegre, and little slums can be found here.

Borges de Medeiros Avenue (Portuguese: Avenida Borges de Medeiros) is an arterial road located in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It includes landmarks such as the Otávio Rocha Viaduct and the Cine Theatro Capitólio. The intersection with Andradas Street forms the Democratic Corner, an established meeting point for rallies and popular demonstrations of different kinds.
