Daftmill distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery, located in a converted barn at Daftmill Farm in the Howe of Fife. The distillery was granted a licence by HMRC in 2005 to produce whisky and the first was produced on 16 December 2005.Built in a converted meal mill and using un-peated malt, Daftmill has a maximum production capacity of only 20,000 litres of alcohol per year, making it a very low-volume distillery. Its first release was introduced as Daftmill 2005 12–Year Inaugural Release. All the grain used in distillation is produced on the farm.

Fernie Castle is an enlarged sixteenth-century tower house in north-east Fife, Scotland. Originally built in an L-plan layout, it was later extended to include a three floor block which included a round tower at one of the corners. Situated just east of the village of Letham, the castle is now primarily used as a hotel which also caters to weddings.When the Chinese real state company MDJM Ltd completed its acquisition on 26 June 2023, it was announced that the 14th century tower house had undergone a renovation process and got the chance to offer weddings with 180 guests.

Springfield is a village that lies at the edge of the Howe of Fife, to the south-west of the town of Cupar, Fife, Scotland. The origin of the community is thought to be from the linen industry in the 19th century. The Church of Scotland parish church was built in 1861, and now shares a minister with nearby Ceres and Kemback. The church garden was originally intended to be a cemetery, but the high water table prevented this. The community is surrounded by fields; agriculture is still an important part of the economy of north east Fife (although few Springfield residents work in agriculture). After World War II, a considerable number of council houses were built in the village, creating new communities in Crawley Crescent, Tarvit Terrace and several other streets. Many of these local authority-owned houses have since been bought by their former tenants. One of the largest local employers is Stratheden Hospital, a psychiatric hospital located between Springfield and Cupar. Springfield has a pub, shop, parish church, village hall, primary school and a railway station on the Edinburgh to Aberdeen Line. The actress Agnes Fraser (1876–1968) was born here.

Pitlessie is a small village in Cults, Fife, Scotland. It is roughly 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) southwest of the nearest large town, Cupar, and 23 miles (37 kilometres) north of Edinburgh. It had an estimated population of 325 in 2010.Situated in the heart of the Howe of Fife, the village was mainly concerned with the linen industry and agriculture - the primary employers in many villages in the along the River Eden. Pitlessie's roots can be traced back at least as far as the 13th century, with it being created twice a free burgh of barony. Other industries such as mining and malting also employed many in the village, though these, along with the post office and village shop, have since ceased. Now, based along the A914, the village primarily serves commuters employed in the surrounding towns and cities, with a village inn the sole notable amenity of Pitlessie, attracting tourists and locals alike.

Mount Hill rises from the rolling farmland about three miles north west of Cupar in North East Fife, Scotland. On its summit stands the 29-metre (95 ft) high Hopetoun Monument, which is visible for many miles around. The Hopetoun Monument was erected by the people of Cupar in 1826 in memory of the British soldier John Hope, 4th Earl of Hopetoun (1765–1823). The monument takes the form of a giant Roman Doric column, and is protected as a category B listed building. The inscription on the monument reads: "To perpetuate the memory of John 4th Earl of Hopetoun who died 16 August 1823, this memorial is erected by the inhabitants of Fife MDCCCXXVI" Prior to succeeding to the earldom, John Hope served at the Battle of Alexandria in 1801 and, later, in the Peninsular War (1808–1814) where he was knighted for his heroic deeds at the Battle of Corunna. There is another similar Hopetoun Monument on Byres Hill near Haddington in East Lothian which was built in 1824.At present the summit of Mount Hill affords an excellent panorama due to the felling of the forestry plantation around the monument. The monument is easily accessible by forest tracks. David Lyndsay of the Mount gains his epithet from the farm on the eastern slopes.

Stratheden Hospital is currently a small community hospital in Stratheden, Cupar, Fife which was originally called Fife and Kinross District Asylum. Its name was changed to Stratheden Hospital in 1948. It was a centre of excellence in Child and Family Psychiatry from the 1960s. In the 21st century, it caters for psychiatric health. It is managed by NHS Fife.

Stratheden (Gaelic: Srath Aodainn) is a hamlet 2 miles west of Cupar, and just north of Springfield, in Fife, Scotland. Stratheden Hospital was built as the Fife and Kinross District Lunatic Asylum in July 1866. It has also been known as Cupar Asylum and Springfield Asylum; it has been called Stratheden Hospital since January 1949, after the creation of the National Health Service. Stratheden Cottages were originally built as housing for the hospital staff.The Scott's Porage Oats factory is located nearby, as is Elmwood Farm, the first fully organic farm in Scotland. The Scottish Deer Centre is located just to the west. Stratheden is located within the Church of Scotland parish of Ceres, Kemback and Springfield.

Springfield railway station serves the village of Springfield in Fife, Scotland. The station has two platforms and is unstaffed. Services are operated by ScotRail.

The Howe of Fife is the broad, low-lying valley of the River Eden, lying between the Ochil Hills and the Lomond Hills in Fife, Scotland. Howe, in Scots means a hollow or a plain bounded by hills. The alternative terms Laich of Fife and the Valley of Eden have fallen from use, as has Stratheden, save for the hospital near Cupar.Cupar-based Howe of Fife RFC take their name from the area.

Letham is a small village in Fife, Scotland, located just off the A92, around 5 miles from Cupar. According to the 2001 Census, Letham has 138 residents, although this has without a doubt increased in the previous years. Its school, Letham Primary School, educates around 35 pupils, between the ages of 5 and 12. The school building itself is over 130 years old, and built mainly from sandstone which was quarried only 200 metres away from the school. Cunnoquhie House is a late 18th-century classical mansion located just north of Letham. It was built for George Paterson of Cunnoquhie, and is a category A listed building.

Priestfield House was a Victorian Country House near Cults, Fife, Scotland.

The Secret Garden is an outdoor nursery school in Letham, Fife, Scotland, for children aged 3–7 years. It is a forest kindergarten in which children walk to a woodland every day, in almost any weather. They use the natural resources they find there rather than modern toys (although with some additional equipment) to learn according to the government educational framework under the heading "Nature as Teacher". The Secret Garden was started in 2008 by Cathy Bache, a drama and primary teacher and parent of three. Before opening this, she provided childcare to a smaller number of children, and developed her ideas during this time. Forest kindergartens were started in the 1950s and became popular in Germany in the 1990s.
