The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) is a multi-site, multi-disciplinary specialist cancer hospital and research centre located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The VCCC comprises an alliance between The University of Melbourne, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne Health, the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, the Royal Women's Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital, Western Health, St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, Austin Health, and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.Comprising two facilities located on two sites, the VCCC building opened on 24 June 2016 in Melbourne's Parkville Biomedical Precinct, located on the intersections of Flemington Road, Grattan Street and Elizabeth Street. The building houses the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, formerly in East Melbourne. The second facility is located inside the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The two sites are joined by pedestrian bridges over Grattan Street.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), located in Parkville, Victoria, an inner suburb of Melbourne, is one of Australia's leading public hospitals. It is a major teaching hospital for tertiary health care with a reputation in clinical research. The hospital is managed as part of Melbourne Health which comprises the Royal Melbourne Hospital, North West Dialysis Service and North Western Mental Health. The Melbourne Health Chief Executive is Christine Kilpatrick AO. The emergency department is at the City Campus, 300 Grattan Street, Parkville.

The Royal Women's Hospital, located in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, is Australia's oldest specialist women's hospital. It offers a full range of services in maternity, gynaecology, neonatal care, women's cancers and women's health. It also offers complementary services such as social work, physiotherapy, dietetics and pastoral care. Specialist clinics in endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, menopause symptoms after cancer, infertility are also available. It is a major teaching hospital of over 200 beds with links to the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University. Co-located in the same building is the Frances Perry Private Hospital, a 69-bed private hospital for women.

Frances Perry Private Hospital, co-located with the Royal Women's Hospital in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, is a 69-bed private hospital for women run by Ramsay Healthcare. The hospital specialises in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Neonatology, Breast Surgery, Day Surgery, Reconstructive and Plastic surgery. A wing of the Royal Women's Hospital was opened as Frances Perry House on 2 November 1970 and named after Frances (Fanny) Perry.

Haymarket roundabout is a roundabout located at the intersection of Elizabeth Street, Flemington Road and Peel Street near the northwest border of the Melbourne CBD in Australia. It is also the location of two tram stops. Royal Parade appears to begin at the roundabout. However, the block north of the roundabout, as far as Grattan Street, is formally still Elizabeth Street. The roundabout used to be known informally known as the roundabout of death due to the high number of serious traffic incidents. Between 2000 and May 2011 there were 78 crashes recorded at the roundabout, including 14 with serious injuries. This has improved since the installation of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings at all entries in 2011. A November 2019 crash history check via the VicRoads crash statistics portal shows just 12 crashes during the previous five years. Despite improvements, continuing deficiencies with this roundabout include: A lack of adequate advance signage on Flemington Road and Royal Parade directing drivers into the appropriate entry lanes for their desired destinations. A lack of signage for northbound cyclists about the intended northbound Elizabeth Street cyclist movement – left turn into Flemington Road followed by a hook turn to the right in front of Peel Street traffic. (This works well but is not intuitive and is missed by many cyclists). As a pedestrian, getting from one side to the other can be very time-consuming, due to having to wait a complete cycle of the traffic lights between crossing each leg.

WEHI (English: ), previously known as the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, and as the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, is Australia's oldest medical research institute. Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnet, who won the Nobel Prize in 1960 for his work in immunology, was director from 1944 to 1965. Burnet developed the ideas of clonal selection and acquired immune tolerance. Later, Professor Donald Metcalf discovered and characterised colony-stimulating factors. As of 2015, the institute hosted more than 750 researchers who work to understand, prevent and treat diseases including blood, breast and ovarian cancers; inflammatory diseases (autoimmunity) such as rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes and coeliac disease; and infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV and hepatitis B and C.Located in Parkville, Melbourne, it is closely associated with The University of Melbourne and The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The institute also has a campus at La Trobe University. The Director of WEHI, since July 2009, is Professor Doug Hilton , a molecular biologist.

The Bio21 Institute of Molecular Science and Biotechnology, abbreviated as the Bio21 Institute, is an Australian scientific research institute that focuses on basic science and applied biotechnology. The Bio21 Institute is based at the University of Melbourne on Flemington Road in Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria. The Institute is managed by the University of Melbourne and is supported by funding from the Victorian Government.

Metropolitan Meat Market, primarily known as Meat Market, in Melbourne, Australia, is a former market building that also incorporates the Metropolitan Hotel. It was designed by George Johnson and completed in 1874. It has been listed on the Victorian Heritage Register since 1973.The venue has undergone many iterations and currently serves as an arts venue under the City of Melbourne. Annually, the venue hosts a cultural and social events ranging from theatre, circus, dance to food and wine fairs, music launches and private functions, in addition to festivals including Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne Knowledge Week, and Yirramboi Festival.

The University High School (abbreviated as UHS or Uni High) is a government-funded co-educational secondary day school, located in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, Victoria, Australia. As of 2016, 1,425 students attended the school.

The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, more commonly known as the Florey Institute, is an Australian medical research institute that undertakes clinical and applied research into treatments for brain and mind disorders and the cardiovascular system. The Institute's areas of interest include Parkinson's disease, stroke, motor neurone disease, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, addiction, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, brain development in premature babies, Autism, Huntington's disease, depression, schizophrenia, brain function in health and disease, heart failure, and dementia. Affiliated with the University of Melbourne and the Austin Hospital, the Institute is located in the Melbourne suburbs of Parkville and Heidelberg in Victoria. It is the largest brain research group in the southern hemisphere and employs approximately 600 staff and students. The Institute is led by its Director, Professor Steven Petrou, who specialises in the underlying electrophysiological basis of genetic childhood epilepsies.

The Grainger Museum is a repository of items documenting the life, career and music of the composer, folklorist, educator and pianist Percy Grainger (b. Melbourne, 1882; d. White Plains, New York, 1961), located in the grounds of the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. In the early 1920s, Grainger began to develop an idea for an autobiographical museum so that "all very intimate letters or notes should be deposited in an Australian Grainger Museum, preferably in birth-town Melbourne". Grainger was a linguistic purist, advocating for the use of a 'Blue-Eyed English' derived from Anglo-Saxon and Germanic glossary. As a result, he generally used the word 'past-hoard-house' for museums, but agreed to the word 'museum' in this case.
