The Ducal Bavarian Brewery of Tegernsee (German Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee KG) is a brewery in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany, located inside the north wing of former Tegernsee Abbey and owned by Maria Anna, Duchess in Bavaria, youngest daughter of Max, Duke in Bavaria.

Tegernsee Abbey (German Kloster Tegernsee, Abtei Tegernsee) is a former Benedictine monastery in the town and district of Tegernsee in Bavaria. Both the abbey and the town that grew up around it are named after the Tegernsee, the lake on the shores of which they are located. The name is from the Old High German tegarin seo, meaning great lake. Tegernsee Abbey, officially known as St. Quirinus Abbey for its patron saint St.Quirinus, was first built in the 8th century. Until 1803, it was the most important Benedictine community in Bavaria. Today, the monastery buildings are known as Schloss Tegernsee (Tegernsee Castle) and are in the possession of Prince Max, Duke in Bavaria, a member of the Wittelsbach family. The local Catholic parish church of Saint Quirinus is in the former abbey church. In addition to the private quarters of the ducal couple, the former abbey premises now accommodate the Tegernsee Grammar School (Gymnasium Tegernsee) and the well-known Ducal Bavarian Brewery of Tegernsee, with a brew pub and a restaurant.

The Neureuth is a 1,261-metre-high (4,137 ft) mountain in the Bavarian Prealps east of Lake Tegernsee in Bavaria, Germany. It is a popular destination for the citizens of Munich. The summit with the much-visited Neureuth Inn can be reached by an easy hike from the town Tegernsee or from the village Gasse (Gmund am Tegernsee). Even in winter the Neureuth is accessible without special equipment. The Neureuth Inn operates all year round. Alternatively, one can also descend on the 1,335-metre-high (4,380 ft) Gindelalmschneid and Gindelalm to Schliersee.

The Tegernsee is a Zungenbecken lake in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany. The lake is the centre of a popular recreation area 50 kilometres (31 mi) south-east of Munich. Resorts on the lake include the eponymous Tegernsee, as well as Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund, and Rottach-Egern. The lake is some 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) in length, 1.4 kilometres (0.87 mi) across at its widest, and spans an area of 8.934 square kilometres (3.449 sq mi). It reaches a maximum depth of 72.6 metres (238 ft), with an average depth of 36.3 metres (119 ft), and the normal water level is 725.5 metres (2,380 ft) above sea level. The lake flows into the River Mangfall, a tributary of the River Inn and thence the River Danube. The buildings of the former Benedictine monastery of Tegernsee Abbey lie on the banks of the lake. Now in private hands, they are now known as Schloss Tegernsee. The area around the lake is linked to Munich by rail through trains of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn, which, in the final part of their journey, travel over the tracks of the privately owned Tegernsee-Bahn. Pleasure boat services serve several points on the lake, and are operated by boats of the Bayerische Seenschifffahrt company. Adolf Hitler owned a house on the shores of Tegernsee and reclused here following the suicide of his niece and girlfriend, Geli Raubal, in 1931.
