Marion station (Amtrak)

Marion is a city in and the county seat of Grant County, Indiana, United States, along the Mississinewa River. The population was 28,310 as of the 2020 census. It is named for Francis Marion, a brigadier general from South Carolina in the American Revolutionary War. The city is home to Indiana Wesleyan University, the largest evangelical Christian university in the Midwest and Indiana's largest private university, when online and regional campuses in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois are included. The traditional campus enrolls about 2,800 students. Marion is the birthplace of actor James Dean and cartoonist Jim Davis, and was the location of the wedding of actress Julia Roberts and singer Lyle Lovett in 1993. Ronald Douglas Morrell Jr. is the city's first African American mayor and has been mayor since 2024.

The Marie Webster House, also known as George Webster Jr. and Marie Daugherty House, is a historic house at 926 South Washington Street in Marion, Indiana. Built in 1905, it was the home of quilter Marie Webster (1859-1956) from 1909 until 1942, and is now home to the Quilters Hall of Fame. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1993, honoring Webster's role in promoting and broadening interest and knowledge of the craft.The Quilters Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to the world of quilting. Founded in 1979 by Hazel McDowell Carter, the Hall features a museum with exhibits of quilts and quilt-makers.

Abijah C. Jay House is a historic home located at Marion, Grant County, Indiana. It was built in 1888, and is a two-story, Queen Anne style brick dwelling. It has a compound slate hipped roof with gables and wraparound front porch.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

J. Wood Wilson House, also known as the Wilson-Vaughan House and Hostess House, is a historic home located at Marion, Grant County, Indiana. It was built in 1912, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, rectangular, Colonial Revival / Georgian Revival style brick dwelling. The front facade features a projecting portico with Ionic order columns and balcony with a decorative iron railing. It was designed by noted African-American architect Samuel Plato (1882–1957).: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Marion Downtown Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Marion, Grant County, Indiana. It encompasses 52 contributing buildings, 2 contributing structures, and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Marion. It developed between about 1870 and 1942, and includes notable examples of Italianate, Romanesque, and Classical Revival style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Grant County Jail and Sheriff's Residence. Other notable buildings are the Grant County Courthouse (1881–1883), Marion Bank Building (c. 1917), Iroquois Building (c. 1895), Dan-Mar Apartments (c. 1900), United Telephone Block (c. 1903), Cecelian Apartments (c. 1915), Marion Post Office (c. 1942), and William Smith Building / Mecca Club (c. 1917).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Grant County Jail and Sheriff's Residence is a historic county jail and residence located at 215 East 3rd Street in Marion, Grant County, Indiana. It was designed by Richards, McCarty & Bulford and built in 1904. It consists of two distinct units that are constructed of red pressed brick with limestone detailing. The residence is in the Queen Anne style with English Tudor details. It sits on a raised basement and has a bell-cast roof.: 2–3  It has been converted into apartments. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and is part of the Marion Downtown Commercial Historic District.

Marion High School is a high school in Marion, Indiana with more than 1,000 students.

Aaron Swayzee House, also known as the Swayzee-Love House, is a historic home located at Marion, Grant County, Indiana. It was built in 1855, and is a two-story, L-shaped, Greek Revival style brick dwelling painted white. The front facade features a pedimented portico with two 22-foot tall Corinthian order columns and stained glass windows. It is one of the oldest houses in Marion and Grant County.: 2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

WMRI (860 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a sports format. Licensed to Marion, Indiana, United States, the station serves the Muncie-Marion area. The station is currently owned by Hoosier AM/FM LLC and features programming from ESPN Radio.

Five Points Mall, formerly North Park Mall, was an enclosed shopping mall in Marion, Indiana, U.S. Opened in 1978, the mall's anchor stores are Roses Discount Store. Planet fitness & Applebee's are other major tenants. There are 3 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears, Carson's, and JCPenney. Outparcel properties include Subway, Buffalo Wild Wings, Ruler Foods, Jo-Ann Stores, and Dollar Tree. The Mall is managed by Select Strategies.

The Cardinal Greenway (TGC) is a multi-use recreational network combining a rail trail and an on-street route that together cross 62 miles (100 km) and five counties — in east central Indiana. The greenway, which was designated a National Recreation Trail in June 2003 and in 2018 was named to the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy's "Rail Trail Hall of Fame." uses the former CSX railroad track between Richmond and Marion. It is named after the Cardinal, the last regular passenger train service on the (Chicago-Cincinnati-Washington) route. Currently it is Indiana's longest rail trail project.The route, which is dedicated to pedestrian, bicycle and equestrian users, has nine bridges and passes the historic Wysor Street Depot. It also follows the White, Whitewater and Mississinewa Rivers. Marked in half-mile increments, the TGC has more than 20 trail heads, most with restrooms, parking areas, and interpretive markers. The system hosts annual events including the National Trails Day (June/Running), Cardinal Greenways Bike Fest (July/biking), Walk Indiana (September/walking), and BikeTOURberfest (October/bicycle).The Cardinal Greenway is part of the Northern Route of the American Discovery Trail. and connects to the White River Greenway near downtown Muncie. A current expansion is underway to construct the White River Greenway trail in downtown Muncie. In Richmond, the trail connects to the Whitewater Gorge Trail and Gennett Walk of Fame in the Whitewater Gorge Park.

Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is a private evangelical Christian university headquartered in Marion, Indiana, and affiliated with the Wesleyan Church. It is the largest private university in Indiana.The university system includes IWU—Marion, where nearly 3,000 students are enrolled in traditional programs on the main campus in Marion and IWU-National & Global which consists of 6,800 adult learners who study online or onsite at 15 education centers in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. In addition 535 graduate students are currently enrolled at Wesley Seminary.IWU offers more than 80 undergraduate degrees and 57 graduate degrees including nine doctoratal degrees. Its students represent more than 80 Christian denominations and come from 11 countries.
