Walthamstow Stadium was a greyhound racing track in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in east London. It was regarded as the leading greyhound racing stadium in Britain following the closure of White City in 1984. The stadium closed on 16 August 2008.

Highams Park is a suburban district in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, England, near Epping Forest and 9 miles (14 km) north-east of Charing Cross. Traditionally a part of Walthamstow parish and municipal borough, it is primarily a residential area, with mainly Victorian and 1930s terraced houses.

Aveling Park School was a mixed secondary school situated on Aveling Park Road, Walthamstow which educated up to 600 pupils. In the early 1970s it was called William Fitt Junior High School and was a feeder school to McEntee, Walthamstow Girls, and Sir George Monoux Senior High Schools. William Fitt Secondary Modern School moved from its temporary site (shared with Winns Avenus Junior School) in Elphinstone Road, to the new purpose built school building in Lloyds Park in September 1962. The Headteacher at the time was Mr G R Easton. The school's motto was "Semper Aptus" ('Always Fit' or 'Always Prepared') Notable ex-pupils include Cartrain, choreographer Matthew Bourne and footballers Teddy Sheringham, Colin Kazim-Richards and Chris Day. Aveling Park was created from the merging of William Fitt and Chapel End Senior School at the start of the 1986 school year. Although the two schools merged, the sites were retained and known as their respective previous names until the demolition of the old Victorian Chapel End school building some years later. In September 2008, Aveling Park School merged with the Warwick School for Boys to form a new school on the site of the former Hawker Siddeley factory in Fulborne Road. The new school is known as the Frederick Bremer School.

Sir George Monoux College is a sixth form college located in Walthamstow, London. It is a medium-sized college with around 1,620 full-time students as of 2018.

The Warner Estate is an area of housing in Walthamstow and Highams Park, Waltham Forest in East London. The area was developed by Thomas Courtenay Warner and the Warner Company.

South Chingford is an area of Chingford in east London, England. It is a largely residential area which is the location of the Chingford Hall Estate, Chingford Mount and the former Walthamstow Stadium. The boundaries of South Chingford are commonly taken to be New Road to the north, the Lea Valley to the west and the North Circular Road to the south. To the east, South Chingford borders Highams Park, and the town of Walthamstow to the south. It comprises the Waltham Forest London Borough Council wards of Larkswood and Valley.

Their men's team are currently members of the Middlesex County League Premier Division and play at Wadham Lodge in Walthamstow, groundsharing with Walthamstow F.C. Their women's team compete in the Greater London Women's Football League Premier.

Walthamstow Football Club are a football club based in Walthamstow, who play in the Essex Senior League. They have played under a number of names and were known as Leyton Pennant up until the end of the 2002–03 season, and Waltham Forest until the end of the 2017–18 season.

West Essex Football Club is a football club based in Highams Park in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, England. They are currently members of the Essex Senior League and groundshare with Walthamstow at Wadham Lodge in Walthamstow.
