Ōsakasayama (大阪狭山市, Ōsakasayama-shi) is a city in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 January 2022, the city had an estimated population of 58,465 in 26128 households and a population density of 4900 persons per km2. The total area of the city is 11.92 square kilometres (4.60 sq mi).

Sayama Domain (狭山藩, Sayama-han) was a feudal domain under the Tokugawa shogunate of Edo period Japan, located in Kawachi Province in what is now the southeastern portion of modern-day Osaka Prefecture. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1916, and it was chartered as a junior women's college in 1950. In 2007, the school became coeducational.

It is a part of the Momoyama Gakuin (学校法人桃山学院) organization. Poole Gakuin College received university status in 1995 and the university's first year began in 1996. It had an intercultural studies program as its first four-year program. The Japan University Accreditation Association accredited the university in 2001.

Poole Gakuin College (プール学院大学短期大学部, Pūru Gakuin Daigaku Tanki Daigakubu) was a private Christian junior college in Minami-ku, Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.The college was established in 1950 and closed in 2021.

Taisei Gakuin University (太成学院大学, Taisei gakuin daigaku) is a private university in Sakai, Osaka, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1916, and it was chartered as a junior college in 1987. The school became a four-year college in 1998 and adopted the present name in 2003.

The wards of Sakai were established when Sakai became a city designated by government ordinance on April 1, 2006. This ward includes the former town of Mihara, which joined Sakai by merger on February 1, 2005.
