The National University of Rosario (Spanish: Universidad Nacional de Rosario, UNR) is a research public university located in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina.

Plaza San Martín (Spanish, San Martín Square) is a plaza (urban square) in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Its name is an homage to General José de San Martín, hero of the Argentine War of Independence. Plaza San Martín is located in the downtown area of Rosario, occupying the block defined by Santa Fe St., Dorrego St., Córdoba St. and Moreno St., along the historical segment of Córdoba St. called Paseo del Siglo. In the center of the plaza there is a bronze statue of General José de San Martín, mounted on a horse and carrying a flag. The statue is a copy of a monument erected in the French city of Boulogne-sur-Mer (the place of San Martín's voluntary exile and death), and was inaugurated on 21 May 1913. The plaza is flanked by important buildings, among them the former Tribunals Palace, now seat of the Faculty of Law of the National University of Rosario and of the Dr. Ángel Gallardo Provincial Natural Sciences Museum, and the former headquarters of the Santa Fe Provincial Police, now a delegation of the provincial government and host to a small museum of the last dictatorship (Centro Popular de la Memoria).

The Palace of Justice (Palacio de Justicia) is a former courthouse in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. Juan Canals, an entrepreneur, commissioned the British architect Herbert Boyd Walker, who conceived and built the Palace of Justice in 1892. The building constitutes a singular example of the eclectic style common at the end of the century. It has a strong French and Italian influence, which can be seen in its two internal galleries and patios, or in its many justice-related sculptures. Perhaps the most notable reference of the building is the tower, which has a bell and a giant clock on its top. It was built in a plot donated partly by the Rosario City Hall and partly by Canals, who was looking forward to recover his initial investment after 30 years of collecting rent. Before the construction, the place was occupied by the "Las Carretas" square. The project also included two more buildings: one of them is today an elementary school, while the other one is a detachment of the provincial government. In 1912, following Canals' bankruptcy, the property of the buildings was transferred to the provincial government. Since its creation and until 1960, the edifice was used by the city courts of law. It was known as the "Palacio de Justicia". On 1960 the city courts of law had to move due to the needs of Rosario's growing population. Almost 50 years have passed since then; however, people still refer to the building as the "Ex-Palacio de Justicia". Shortly after the Courts of Law had moved, the building was used to house a new institution dedicated to the teaching of law and political sciences, as well as the "Gallardo" Natural History Museum on the upper floor. The institution later became the Law and Political Sciences school. In 1974, the Political Sciences school was given its own building, so all that remained was the Law School and the Natural History Museum. In 1997, by decree N° 262/97, the building was declared a National Historic Monument. In 2003, the building caught fire and its eastern wing was severely damaged. As a result, the Dr. Ángel Gallardo Provincial Natural Sciences Museum lost many of its collections, and had to move. Full restoration works began immediately after the fire and continue today. The building is expected to be fully restored and as of 2007, refurbishment works were 90% complete (including a substantial modernization of the facilities).

The Facultad de Derecho is the Law School of the National University of Rosario (Argentina), and is located in the former Palace of Justice Building, a Rosario landmark and a National Historic Monument.

A gas explosion caused by a large gas leak occurred in a residential area of Rosario, the third-largest city in Argentina, on August 6, 2013. A nearby building collapsed, and others were at high risk of structural failure. Twenty-two people died, and sixty were injured. Several organizations helped secure the area, search for survivors and aid people who lost their homes. Shortly after the explosion, the time needed for reconstruction was estimated at six months. The provincial judiciary launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion. Primary suspects were Litoral Gas (the natural-gas provider for Rosario) and an employee who carried out maintenance work at the building that day. Several public figures sent condolences, and most of the candidates for the 2013 primary elections suspended their political campaigns.

Plaza Pringles (Spanish for "Pringles Square") is a plaza (urban square) in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Its name is an homage to Colonel Juan Pascual Pringles, hero of the Spanish American wars of independence (who also gave its name to the Plaza Pringles located in the city of San Luis). Plaza Pringles occupies a half block in the downtown area of Rosario, beside the historical section of Córdoba St. known as Paseo del Siglo. It is surrounded by the Juan Álvarez Passage, Paraguay St., Córdoba St., and Presidente Roca St. Opposite the Passage lies the old entrance to the Biblioteca Argentina Dr. Juan Álvarez (the largest public library in Rosario). The terrain where the plaza was to be located was originally bought by Rosario's Political Chief (mayor) Nicasio Oroño, and turned into a public space in 1898. It received several names until acquiring that of Pringles.

The Palacio Minetti (Spanish, Minetti Palace) is a building in Rosario, in Santa Fe Province, Argentina. It is located at one end of the pedestrian segment of Córdoba St., within the historical district known as Paseo del Siglo. The palace was projected in 1929 by the architects José Gerbino, Luis Schwarz and Juan Bautista Durand, who were commissioned by Domingo Minetti, a vegetable oil and mill industry businessman, for the design of new corporate headquarters for Minetti y Compañía. It was built by Candia y Cía., and finished around 1931. The building is considered one of the finest examples of Art Deco in the city. Its structure is based on a portal with four columns in red granite and a tall white façade ornamented with uniform rhomboids. At the top there is a stepped pyramid, crowned by bronze statues of two women holding a torch.

Plaza Sarmiento is a plaza (urban square) in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. Its name is an homage to former Argentine president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Plaza Sarmiento is located in a strategic location within the Rosario downtown area, and serves as a transport node for many urban and short-distance interurban bus lines. It occupies almost two blocks, defined by San Luis St., Entre Ríos St., Mendoza St. and Corrientes St. It is divided by San Juan St. (running east–west). It features a monument crowned by a statue of Sarmiento, known as a pioneer and promoter of public education in Argentina. The only route of the Rosario trolleybus system, line K, passes through Plaza Sarmiento. The plaza currently hosts an outdoors artisans' fair several days each week.

Rosario Central is a former railway station in Rosario, Argentina. It is located at the junction of Corrientes St. and Wheelwright Avenue, in the city center, not far from the coast of the Paraná River. The station was part of the Mitre Railway network until 1977 when it fell into disuse. After being restored by the Municipality of Rosario, in 2005 the building was re-opened as the seat of the Center Municipal District, named "Antonio Berni".

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario (Spanish, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Rosario, often abbreviated MACRo) is an annex to the Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum that is devoted to contemporary art. It's located in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. The MACRo lies beside the Paraná River, at the northern end of Oroño Boulevard, on the Estanislao López Riverfront Avenue. It was opened to the public on November 19, 2004. The works took advantage of the Davis Silos (an abandoned grain silo complex, formerly part of Rosario's port facilities, now moved south). The bulk of the building consists of eight large concrete silos, painted in different colors, with a diameter of 7.5 metres. The idea, according to the official site of the museum, was "to integrally preserve the building, exalting the unique features of concrete, stressing austerity as a value." There is a glass elevator outside the building, for a view of the river scenery and the nearby islands. The actual museum exhibition is located on an attached building that formerly housed the administrative offices. It has ten floors, for a total area of 970 m² (10,400 ft²), and as of November 2005 maintained a collection of 300 art works by 220 different artists, including Lucio Fontana and Antonio Berni.

The Palacio Cabanellas (Spanish, Cabanellas Palace) is a historical building in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is located in the downtown area, occupying the southwestern corner of San Luis St. and Sarmiento St. The palace was projected around 1914 by the Majorcan architect Francisco Roca (Francesc Roca i Simó), who had been personally influenced by Antoni Gaudí during his studies in Barcelona. It was built in 1916 under the direction of Luis B. Laporte. It is one of very few examples of Modernisme (Catalan-style Art Nouveau) found in Rosario.It was restored under official sponsorship during the mid-2000s, in order to repair fissures and replace outer details.In 2006 the Palacio was one of the locations of the movie ¿De quién es el portaligas? (released 2007), directed by Rosario-born popular composer Fito Páez.

The Juan B. Castagnino Fine Arts Museum (Spanish: Museo de Bellas Artes Juan B. Castagnino) is an art museum in the city of Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina, considered the most important of the interior of the country and the second in national terms. It is administered by the municipal government. The museum lies within the Parque de la Independencia (the largest of Rosario's urban parks) immediately outside the city center, at the intersection of Oroño Boulevard and Pellegrini Avenue. The building was a project by architects Hilarión Hernández Larguía and Juan Manuel Newton and opened in 1936. It was donated to the Municipality by Mrs. Rosa Tiscornia de Castagnino in memory of her late son Juan Bautista Castagnino, an important art critic and collector at the time, and officially inaugurated as a museum on 7 December 1937. The museum has two floors, totalling 35 rooms with 700 linear meters available for exhibitions. The initial artistic patrimony of the museum was gathered from donations by private collectors, plus the patrimony of the former Municipal Fine Arts Museum, and then augmented by purchases by the municipality and the Museum Foundation. It now consists of more than 3,000 works, comprising European art, Argentine art of the 19th and 20th century, and works by Rosario artists until the 1930s. The contemporary art collection (about 300 works acquired in more recent times) was moved to a new museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario (MACRo), opened in 2004.
