Canada del Cierbo is a valley and 2.5-mile-long (4.0 km) northwestward-flowing stream originating in the Crockett Hills Regional Park and flowing to eastern San Pablo Bay near the Carquinez Strait at Tormey, Contra Costa County, California.

Oleum was an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, California, United States, located between the unincorporated town of Rodeo and Tormey. It was a small company town, with housing for Union Oil company workers, hence the name, derived from "petroleum". The refinery still exists. The site is located on the Mexican land grant Rancho El Pinole made to Ygnacio Martinez. A post office operated at Oleum from 1910 to 1951.

Tormey, formerly known as El Cierbo from the (Spanish word 'Ciervo' for 'Elk' (Cervus canadensis), is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, California, United States. It is located between Rodeo and Crockett on the edge of the ConocoPhillips oil refinery in Rodeo. It is 6.5 miles (10 km) west-northwest of Martinez, at an elevation of 20 feet (6 m). The community is home to less than a dozen homes and the former offices of the John Swett Unified School District.

Rodeo Creek is an 8.3-mile-long (13.4 km) intermittent stream in western Contra Costa County, California running through the town of Rodeo to San Pablo Bay.

Rodeo (; Spanish for "Cattle roundup") is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Contra Costa County, California, in the East Bay sub-region of the San Francisco Bay Area, on the eastern shore of San Pablo Bay, 25 miles northeast of San Francisco. The population was 9,653 at the 2020 census. The town is named for the rodeos common in the late 19th century. Cattle from the surrounding hills were regularly driven down through the old town to a loading dock on the shoreline of San Pablo Bay for shipment to slaughterhouses, a practice which continued through the early 20th century. The town of Rodeo is served by the Interstate 80 freeway and State Route 4. The Southern Pacific Railroad main line passes through Rodeo. Rodeo has not been a stop on the railroad since the 1950s.

Selby is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area in northern California.

Rancho El Pinole was a 17,761-acre (71.88 km2) Mexican land grant along Carquinez Strait in present-day Contra Costa County, California. It was given in 1842 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Ygnacio Martinez. Rancho El Pinole extended over land that today includes most of the Franklin Ridge, Crockett, Hercules, Martinez, Oleum, Pinole, Rodeo, Selby and Tormey.

The Napa River is a river approximately 55 miles (89 km) long in the U.S. state of California. Hercules Transit Center is a major commuter hub in the western Contra Costa County city of Hercules, California. It is anchored by WestCAT bus services. The center was originally on San Pablo Avenue. In August 2009, the transit center was relocated to the other side of I-80 with additional paid parking. The transit center is a pulse (a timed and synchronized) transfer point for various local feeder bus lines from the adjacent areas of Hercules, Pinole, Rodeo, the northern Hilltop area of Richmond, Bayview-Montalvin, and Tara Hills. The feeder services feed express commuter bus service to El Cerrito del Norte BART station in El Cerrito, downtown Martinez (the county seat) and Martinez Amtrak station. These services provide transfers to AC Transit at Richmond Parkway Transit Center, shopping areas at Hilltop Mall Shopping Center and Pinole Vista Shopping Center and transbay service to the San Francisco Transbay Terminal. The westbound weekday morning commute from this point south towards the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge is the most congested in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2001 according to Caltrans. Studies have been concluded as to the feasibility of running BART service to the Transit Center.
