Chestermere Lake

Chestermere, originally named Chestermere Lake, is a city in the Canadian province of Alberta, within Rocky View County. It is largely a commuter town of Calgary and is a member municipality of the Calgary Region. The city, which surrounds Chestermere Lake, was known as Chestermere Lake from 1977 to 1993.

High Point Estates is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Rocky View County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on Township Road 241A, 0.8 km (0.50 mi) south of Highway 1. It is adjacent to the city of Chestermere to the west.

Chestermere High School is a public high school near Chestermere, Alberta, Canada. About 900 students were enrolled at this school before Grade 9 was removed in 2010 to reduce overcrowding. Currently, there are about 1100 students. The school features three parking lots, one for grades 10 and 11, one for 11 and 12, and a special one for the staff. It was originally two separate schools: an elementary school and the other for grades 7–12. After an elementary school and middle school were erected in Chestermere, the two were joined by a hallway and the old school became a senior high. The hallway was torn down and renovated in 2008. The hallway now houses several murals, including one of Bob Marley - indicative of the culture throughout the administration.

CFAC also stands for Commander Fleet Activities ChinhaeCFAC (960 AM) is a radio station serving Calgary, Alberta. Owned by Rogers Radio, a division of Rogers Sports & Media, the station broadcasts a sports format branded as Sportsnet 960 The Fan, co-branded with the Sportsnet television channel also owned by Rogers. Its studios are located on 7th Avenue Southwest in downtown Calgary, in the same building as Rogers' other Calgary stations, CFFR, CHFM-FM and CJAQ-FM. CFAC broadcasts with a power of 50,000 watts 24 hours a day on the regional frequency of 960 AM. The daytime signal is non-directional, and the nighttime signal is directional using a three-tower array located on Rainbow Road just east of the Calgary city limits.

Janet is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. It is located on Township Road 240, approximately 13 km (8.1 mi) east of downtown Calgary, 5.9 km (3.7 mi) southwest of the Town of Chestermere, and 3.2 km (2.0 mi) south of Highway 1A. Janet is primarily an industrial area that is home to some transportation and logistics companies.

Conrich is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County.Conrich is located 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi) east of the City of Calgary's eastern limits and approximately 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) northeast of Downtown Calgary on McKnight Boulevard. It has been anticipated that the hamlet will eventually be annexed by Calgary. However, Calgary's 2007 annexation did not move its eastern limits closer to the hamlet.Conrich got its start as a flag station for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. A flag station was exactly that: passengers wanting to board had to flag the train down. The land for the site was obtained from W.F. Birch. The railroad reached here in 1913, and the name comes from the surnames of two real estate developers, Connacher and Richardson . The Canadian National Railway took over the line in 1918. That year, a 30,000 bushel grain elevator was also built. A post office operated at this site from August 15, 1925, to December 12, 1960.

The Shepard Energy Centre is a combined cycle power plant located on the east side of Calgary, Alberta. Powered by two gas turbine generators, with two HRSGs capturing the waste heat from the exhaust-gases and producing steam for a single steam turbine.ENMAX claims the Shepard Energy Centre emits less than half of the carbon dioxide per MW compared to traditional coal power-plants.

Applewood Park is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the eastern edge of the city, north of 17 Avenue SE. Elliston Park, the site of GlobalFest fireworks, is located southwest of the community. Applewood was established in 1982 and is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 9 councillor. The community has an area structure plan in place.

Abbeydale is a neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bordered to the north by Trans-Canada Highway, to the east by Stoney Trail, to the south by Canadian National Railway tracks and to the west by 68 Street E. Abbeydale was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1976.
