The National Museum of Slavery (Portuguese: Museu Nacional da Escravatura) is located in Morro da Cruz, Luanda, Angola.

Mussulo (Portuguese: Ilha do Mussulo) is a peninsula and a commune, with a population of 7,798 (2014), located south of Luanda, Angola. It is part of the municipality of Belas, province of Luanda. It is actually a spit created by sediments from the Cuanza River, moved north by the Benguela Current. It is about 30 km long, at most 3 km wide, and at the narrowest parts in the south of the peninsula, less than 100 metres. Mussulo is linked to land at the Ponta das Palmeirinhas, the westernmost point of Luanda province. The peninsula forms the Mussulo bay with three islands in it. Mussulo is a favorite beach for Luandans with huts and restaurants at the bay beach facing the land. The outer beach to the Atlantic Ocean is hardly visited because of the strong sea current and high waves.

Benfica, Luanda is a commune of Angola located in Belas Municipality, the province of Luanda.

Belas Shopping is the first modern shopping center of Angola, located in the Talatona city, in Luanda Province. Covering an area of almost 120,000 square meters, with a budgeted investment initially of 35 million dollars, it was built by Angolan subsidiary Odebrecht. The official opening was on March 29, 2007, attended by government officials, politicians, entrepreneurs, the press, and others. The mall has eight cinemas, a food court, entertainment area and more than one hundred stores. Around a thousand people were employed in its construction, and since opening it employs about 950 people directly and some 1500 jobs indirectly.

Talatona is a city and municipality in the province of Luanda, bordering the Angolan capital, Luanda. It was designed by the Angolan government to reduce traffic in central Luanda; Its infrastructure was built in a location south of Luanda, which currently houses several administrative and economic services that were relocated from the central zone of the capital. According to the 2018 population projections prepared by the National Institute of Statistics, it has a population of approximately 500,000 inhabitants. It is made up of the headquarters commune, which also bears the name Talatona, and the commune of Benfica; It is further subdivided into the urban districts of Camama, Futungo de Belas and Quifica. The municipal territory is bathed by the bay of Mussulo, managing two islands that are in this one, being the islet of Birds and the island of Desterro.

Luanda International School (LIS) is an international school in Luanda, Angola. Established in October 1996 by five people interested in the creation of an English-medium international school in Angola, it is supported by oil companies to benefit the families of their employees. LIS is an International Baccalaureate World School (IB) and is authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate programs. The largest international school in Luanda, it is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and the Council of International Schools.

Futungo de Belas is a commune located in Belas Municipality, the province of Luanda, in Angola.

Mussulo, formely Benfica e Mussulo, is an municipality in Luanda Province in Angola. It is located entirely on the Mussulo peninsula, in the coastal area of the Luanda Province.

The 2000 ASA Pesada Antonov An-24 crash occurred on 15 November 2000 when an Antonov An-24 registered as D2-FCG operated by Angolan airliner ASA Pesada crashed shortly after taking off from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport in Angola's capital Luanda. The aircraft was carrying 52 passengers and 5 crewmembers and was heading to Yuri Gagarin Airport in Namibe Province, Angola. All 57 people on board were killed in the crash. The crash was the third deadliest plane crash in Angola, the second deadliest plane crash involving an Antonov An-24 and the second plane crash to occur in the country in just less than 3 weeks. On 31 October, another Antonov An-24 carrying 49 people operated by ACA-Ancargo Air crashed on the northern part of the country, killing all 49 people on board with UNITA rebels claimed to have shot down the plane.

The Estádio 22 de Junho (22 June stadium) is an Angolan stadium built and owned by G.D. Interclube and is the venue for the club's home games in all events that it takes part of. The 7,800-seat stadium was inaugurated on February 2, 2005 and is located in the Rocha Pinto neighborhood, Maianga district, Luanda, Angola. The stadium is one of the few private-owned stadiums in Luanda as the remaining teams based in the capital play in state-owned 11 de Novembro, Cidadela and Coqueiros.

Estádio Joaquim Dinis is a multi-use stadium in Luanda, Angola. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Atlético Sport Aviação. The stadium holds 7,800 people and was built in 2003.

The Agostinho Neto University (Portuguese: Universidade Agostinho Neto) is the largest public university of Angola, based in Luanda and in the nearby city of Talatona, in Angola. In the academic year 2005–06, 68 licensing courses were ministered by the university: 18 in Bachelor's and 15 in master's degrees, involving areas of scientific knowledge in the faculties, institutes, and higher learning schools. It is one of seven public (state owned) universities in Angola. Until 2009 the Agostinho Neto University was the country's only public university, and had campuses in all its major cities. In 2009 it was split up, with its campuses outside Luanda becoming six autonomous universities, located in Benguela, Cabinda, Huambo, Lubango, Malange, and Uíge. Agostinho Neto University is now one of the seven regional university among others, serving Luanda Province and Bengo Province. It remains the largest university in Angola.
