Futungo de Belas is a commune located in Belas Municipality, the province of Luanda, in Angola.

The 2000 ASA Pesada Antonov An-24 crash occurred on 15 November 2000 when an Antonov An-24 registered as D2-FCG operated by Angolan airliner ASA Pesada crashed shortly after taking off from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport in Angola's capital Luanda. The aircraft was carrying 52 passengers and 5 crewmembers and was heading to Yuri Gagarin Airport in Namibe Province, Angola. All 57 people on board were killed in the crash. The crash was the third deadliest plane crash in Angola, the second deadliest plane crash involving an Antonov An-24 and the second plane crash to occur in the country in just less than 3 weeks. On 31 October, another Antonov An-24 carrying 49 people operated by ACA-Ancargo Air crashed on the northern part of the country, killing all 49 people on board with UNITA rebels claimed to have shot down the plane.

The Estádio 22 de Junho (22 June stadium) is an Angolan stadium built and owned by G.D. Interclube and is the venue for the club's home games in all events that it takes part of. The 7,800-seat stadium was inaugurated on February 2, 2005 and is located in the Rocha Pinto neighborhood, Maianga district, Luanda, Angola. The stadium is one of the few private-owned stadiums in Luanda as the remaining teams based in the capital play in state-owned 11 de Novembro, Cidadela and Coqueiros.

Estádio Joaquim Dinis is a multi-use stadium in Luanda, Angola. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Atlético Sport Aviação. The stadium holds 7,800 people and was built in 2003.

On 25 May 2003, a Boeing 727-223 airliner, registered N844AA, was stolen at Quatro de Fevereiro Airport in Luanda, Angola, prompting a worldwide search by law enforcement intelligence agencies in the United States. No trace of the aircraft has been found.

Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport (Portuguese: Aeroporto Internacional 4 de Fevereiro, Swahili: Uwanja wa Ndege wa Kimataifa wa Quatro de Fevereiro), (IATA: LAD, ICAO: FNLU) is the main international airport of Angola. It is located in the southern part of the capital Luanda, situated in the Luanda Province. Quatro de Fevereiro means 4 February, which is an important national holiday in Angola, marking the start of the armed struggle against the Portuguese colonial regime on 4 February 1961. In 2018, about 5.6 million passengers were handled.

Luanda (/luˈændə, -ˈɑːn-/, Portuguese: [luˈɐ̃dɐ]) is the capital and largest city of Angola. It is Angola's primary port, and its major industrial, cultural and urban centre. Located on Angola's northern Atlantic coast, Luanda is Angola's administrative centre, its chief seaport, and also the capital of the Luanda Province. Luanda and its metropolitan area is the most populous Portuguese-speaking capital city in the world and the most populous Lusophone city outside Brazil. In 2020 the population reached more than 8.3 million inhabitants (a third of Angola's population). Among the oldest colonial cities of Africa, Luanda was founded in January 1576 as São Paulo da Assunção de Loanda by Portuguese explorer Paulo Dias de Novais. The city served as the centre of the slave trade to Brazil before the institution was prohibited. At the start of the Angolan Civil War in 1975, most of the white Portuguese left as refugees, principally migrating to Portugal. Luanda's population increased greatly from internal refugees fleeing the war, but its infrastructure was inadequate to handle the increase. This also caused the exacerbation of slums, or musseques, around Luanda. In the 21st century, the city has been undergoing a major reconstruction. Many new large developments are taking place that will alter its cityscape significantly. Industries present in the city include the processing of agricultural products, beverage production, textile, cement, new car assembly plants, construction materials, plastics, metallurgy, cigarettes and shoes. The city is also notable as an economic centre for oil, and a refinery is located in the city. Luanda has been ranked as one of the most expensive cities in the world for expatriates. The inhabitants of Luanda are mostly members of the ethnic Ambundu people. In recent decades of the 21st century, the number of ethnic Bakongo and Ovimbundu have also increased. Ethnic Europeans are mainly Portuguese. Luanda was the main host city for the matches of the 2010 African Cup of Nations.

Estádio França Ndalu is an Angolan football stadium built and owned by Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto and will be the venue for the club's home games in all events that it takes part of. The stadium is named after Gen. António França, nicknamed "Ndalu" who was a key figure in the club's foundation in 1977. The 20,000-seat stadium is located in the Cassequel neighborhood, Maianga district, Luanda, Angola. The stadium is only the second private-owned stadium in Luanda, following Interclube's 22 de Junho as the remaining teams based in the capital play in the state-owned 11 de Novembro and Coqueiros.

The Archdiocese of Luanda (Latin: Archidioecesis Luandensis) is the oldest Roman Catholic archdiocese in Angola. Its cathedral is the Church of Our Lady of Remedies (Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios) in Luanda.

Pavilhão Victorino Cunha, formerly Pavilhão do CODENM a.k.a. Pavilhão do Rio Seco is the Arena of Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto, mainly used for its Men's and Women's basketball teams. The arena is located in the uptown neighborhood of Maianga. On August 1, 2013, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto, the club honored the mentor of the basketball development in the club, Victorino Cunha, by renaming the main basketball arena as Pavilhão Victorino Cunha.

The Agostinho Neto University (Portuguese: Universidade Agostinho Neto) is the largest public university of Angola, based in Luanda and in the nearby city of Talatona, in Angola. In the academic year 2005–06, 68 licensing courses were ministered by the university: 18 in Bachelor's and 15 in master's degrees, involving areas of scientific knowledge in the faculties, institutes, and higher learning schools. It is one of seven public (state owned) universities in Angola. Until 2009 the Agostinho Neto University was the country's only public university, and had campuses in all its major cities. In 2009 it was split up, with its campuses outside Luanda becoming six autonomous universities, located in Benguela, Cabinda, Huambo, Lubango, Malange, and Uíge. Agostinho Neto University is now one of the seven regional university among others, serving Luanda Province and Bengo Province. It remains the largest university in Angola.
