Andrew Lewis Middle School is a former high school in Salem, Virginia, United States which was named after Andrew Lewis, an American pioneer, surveyor, and soldier from Virginia. He served as a colonel of militia during the French and Indian War, and as a brigadier general in the American Revolutionary War.

Southwest Virginia Holiness Association Camp Meeting, also known as the Salem Camp Meeting, is a historic camp meeting complex located at Salem, Virginia. The complex consists of two buildings—a 1922 tabernacle and a dormitory, built about 1926. Both buildings are plainly detailed frame buildings with novelty weatherboard siding and poured concrete basement levels. The tabernacle measures approximately 60 feet by 80 feet and contains an auditorium designed for a capacity of 2,000 people. The dormitory is a two-story, three-bay, building with a full-width one-story porch.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Salem Civic Center is a 6,820-seat multi-purpose arena in Salem, Virginia. It was built in 1967 and is part of the James E. Taliaferro Sports and Entertainment Complex (named after a former mayor of Salem), which also includes Salem Stadium and the Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. The Salem Civic Center was originally known as the Salem-Roanoke Valley Civic Center, but the county withdrew its financial backing in the 1980s. The civic center was home to the Salem Rebels and Salem Raiders ice hockey teams in the 1960s and 1970s. The NCAA Division III men's college basketball championship was held at the civic center for many years. Boxing, professional wrestling, rodeos, and high school basketball games are typical events. In addition to sporting events, the Salem Civic Center also hosts concerts, circuses, conventions and trade shows. The film was used as the location for the national anthem in Borat. The annual Roanoke Valley Horse Show and Salem Fair are held at the civic center and the adjacent grounds. It is also currently the largest convention facility in the Roanoke Valley; there is a total of 40,000 square feet (4,000 m2) of space in the main arena, the community room (which can be divided into three smaller rooms) and three other rooms.

Salem Presbyterian Parsonage, also known as the Old Manse, is a historic parsonage associated with Salem Presbyterian Church and located at Salem, Virginia. The core section was built in 1847, and is a two-story, central passage plan, brick I-house. A front section was added to the core in 1879, giving the house an L-shaped configuration; an addition in 1922 filled in the "L". A dining room addition built between 1896 and 1909 connected the main house to a formerly detached kitchen dating to the 1850s. The house features Greek Revival style exterior and interior detailing. The front facade features a one-story porch with a hipped roof supported by fluted Doric order columns. The Salem Presbyterian Church acquired the house in 1854; they sold the property in 1941.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Salem Fair is an agricultural fair in Salem, Virginia, in the United States. It is the largest free fair in the state of Virginia. The fair takes place annually from late June through early July. Attractions include live music and various performances, Fourth of July fireworks, commercial exhibits, and a petting zoo.The COVID-19 pandemic caused officials to scrap 2020's fair.

Salem is an independent city in the U.S. commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,346. It is the county seat of Roanoke County, although the two are separate jurisdictions. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the city of Salem with Roanoke County, which surrounds both Salem and the neighboring City of Roanoke, for statistical purposes. Salem has its own courthouse and sheriff's office, but shares a jail with Roanoke County, which is located in the Roanoke County Courthouse complex in Salem. The Roanoke County Sheriff's Office and Roanoke County Department of Social Services are also located within Salem, though the county administrative offices are located in unincorporated Cave Spring. Roanoke College is located in the city. Salem is also the home to a minor league baseball team, the Salem Red Sox.

Williams–Brown House and Store is a historic home and general store located at Salem, Virginia. It was built about 1837, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped brick building with Greek Revival and Federal style design influences. It features a double porch with chamfered edges ending in lambs' tongues.The house is occupied by the Salem Museum and Historical Society. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Old Roanoke County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Salem, Virginia. It was built in 1909-1910 and is a three-story, Classical Revival-style, yellow brick building. The front facade features a three-story, tetra-style Ionic order portico. The courthouse has a hipped roof topped by a cupola, which is topped by an eagle. A rear addition was built in 1948–1949. Also on the property is the contributing 1910 Civil War Memorial, that consists of a granite shaft topped by the figure of a Confederate soldier. The building housed Roanoke County, Virginia county offices until they moved to a new building in 1985.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It is located in the Downtown Salem Historic District. Today the property is owned by Roanoke College.

Salem Memorial Ballpark is a baseball park in Salem, Virginia. It is part of the James E. Taliferro Sports and Entertainment Complex, along with the Salem Civic Center and Salem Football Stadium, located approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) southeast of downtown. Opened on August 7, 1995 (1995-08-07), it is home to the Salem Red Sox, a minor-league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. It was built in 1995 at a cost of $10.1 million to replace Municipal Stadium. With a seating capacity of 6,300 people, it offers an impressive view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. For sponsorship reasons, since 2021 the full name of the facility has been Carilion Clinic Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark, named after local healthcare organization Carilion Clinic.

Salem Post Office, also known as the Old Post Office, is a historic post office building located at Salem, Virginia.

Downtown Salem Historic District is a national historic district located at Salem, Virginia. The district encompasses 34 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in downtown Salem. The district includes primarily mixed-use commercial buildings, but also includes churches, dwellings, a courthouse, a post office, a library, a park, and the covered stalls of a farmer's market. The buildings mostly date from the late-19th and early-20th century and are in a variety of popular architectural styles including Greek Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne. Notable buildings include the Stevens House or "Old Post House" (1820s-1830s), Kizer-Webber Building (1883-1886), Duval-Oakey House (1891-1898), Salem High School (former, 1911-1912), Old Salem Municipal Building and Fire Department (1925), Quality Bakery Building (c. 1903-1913), Olde Newberry Building (1929), Salem Theater (former, 1930), and James J. True Building (1927). Located in the district are the separately listed Old Roanoke County Courthouse, Salem Presbyterian Church, and Salem Post Office.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Salem Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at E. Main and Market Streets in Salem, Virginia. It was built in 1851–1852, and is a Greek Revival style temple form church. It has a slightly projecting Ionic order portico in antis with belfry. The church owned the Salem Presbyterian Parsonage from 1854 to 1941.
