Huseyn Javid Monument

Elmler Akademiyasi is a Baku Metro station. It was opened on 31 December 1985. It is named after the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyası) which is nearby.

Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Milli Elmlər Akademiyası (AMEA)), located in Baku, is the main state research organization and the primary body that conducts research and coordinates activities in the fields of science and social sciences in Azerbaijan. Baku State University (BSU) (Azerbaijani: Bakı Dövlət Universiteti (BDU)) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. Established in 1919 by the Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the University started with faculties of history and philology, physics and mathematics, and law and medicine, with an initial enrollment of 1094. The first rector of BSU was V.I.Razumovsky, a former professor of surgery at Kazan University. In 1930, the government ordered the University shut down in accordance with a reorganization of higher education, and the University was replaced with the Supreme Pedagogical Institute. However, in 1934 the University was reestablished again and continued to work through the difficult years of World War II experiencing a shortage of faculty members. By its 40th anniversary in 1959, the University already had 13 faculties. The Azerbaijan Medical University and Azerbaijan State Economic University were both spun-offs of the original respective faculties at BSU. Among the graduates of BSU were two former presidents of Azerbaijan, Abulfaz Elchibey and Heydar Aliyev. The former graduated from the Faculty of Arabic Language and Literature, while the latter, who dominated Azerbaijan's political life for over 30 years, from the Faculty of History. Nobel Prize-winning physicist Lev Landau studied at BSU between 1922 and 1924. BSU is the only university from Azerbaijan ranked by international ranking organizations, such as University Ranking by Academic Performance and currently ranks at 1872 in the University Ranking by Academic Performance.

Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ASUCA; Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dövlət Mədəniyyət və İncəsənət Universiteti) was founded in 1923 on the basis of the Baku Theatrical College. It is Azerbaijan's main state-funded institution of higher education in performing arts.

Abdulla Shaig’s House Museum is dedicated to the famous Azerbaijani writer Abdulla Shaig and is under the control of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is located on the second floor of a historical building in Baku that was constructed in 1905.

The House-Museum of Nariman Narimanov was opened in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 6, 1977. Nariman Narimanov lived in the apartment together with his family during 1913–1918.

Sovetsky (Azerbaijani: Sovetski, listen ; Russian: Советская) is a historic district in Baku, Azerbaijan. It is located in Yasamal raion, between Nariman Narimanov Avenue (former Sovetsky Avenue) and Mirza Ibrahimov Street, and between Nizami and Ibrahim Abilov streets. There are many historical buildings over a century old, museums, mosques, baths and houses of notable Azerbaijanis. During renovation of the area in 2014–2016 many buildings were demolished, among them several cultural heritage monuments.

The Monument to Mikayil Mushfig (Azerbaijani: Mikayıl Müşfiqin heykəli) is a monument dedicated to the Azerbaijani poet Mikayil Mushfig, raised on one of the central avenues of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
