Nørre Lyndelse

Sortelung is a small village on the Danish island of Funen. It is located near Nørre Lyndelse and south of the city of Odense.

The State Prison at Søbysøgård is an open prison in Denmark, which is arranged at the Hall of Søby Søgård close to Årslev. The manor house was being used as a youth prison in 1933 but has been changed to an open prison in 1973. In 2003 The State Prison at Søbysøgård also got a half open section at the prison. The prison has a space for 134 inmates, of whom 26 are in the semi-open section. Prison places great emphasis on education of the inmates – It is possible to take preparatory adult education and adult education in the prison.

Hjallese is a village and southern suburb of Odense, in Funen, Denmark.

Stenløse is a district in Odense, Denmark. It is located about 10 kilometers south of the urban center of Odense, at an average elevation of 32 meters above the sea level. As of the year 2022, the district had a population of 3,701.

Trundholm municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in West Zealand County on the northwest coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark, in a region or landscape known as Odsherred. The municipality covered an area of 163 km², and had a total population of 11,309 (2005). Its last mayor was Hans Møller Olsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Højby. Because the former municipality of Trundholm is located near the end of a peninsula and because it features a long spit of land, Zealand's Point (Sjællands Odde), at its northwest which stretches out into the Kattegat, it is surrounded by much water. Two former municipalities — Nykøbing-Rørvig to the northeast and Dragsholm to the southwest— are also on this peninsula. To the east is Nykøbing Bay (Nykøbing Bugt), an inlet of the larger Isefjord, to the north is Nyrup Bay (Nyrup Bugt) and Hesselø Bay (Hesselø Bugt),to the west of the point is the Kattegat, and to the south of the point is Sejerø Bay (Sejerø Bugt). Ferry service via Mols-linien connects the former municipality at the town of Sjællands Odde northwest over the Kattegat to the Danish mainland, the Jutland peninsula, at Århus and Ebeltoft. By 1 January 2007 Trundholm municipality ceased to exist, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It merged with existing Dragsholm and Nykøbing-Rørvig municipalities to form the new Odsherred municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 355 km² and a total population of 32,739 (2005). The new municipality belongs to the Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region").

The Funen Village (Danish: Den Fynske Landsby) is an open-air museum located in the neighborhood of Fruens Bøge in Odense, Denmark.

Funen (Danish: Fyn, pronounced [ˈfyˀn]), with an area of 3,099.7 square kilometres (1,196.8 sq mi), is the third-largest island of Denmark, after Zealand and Vendsyssel-Thy. It is the 165th-largest island in the world. It is located in the central part of the country and has a population of 469,947 as of 2020. Funen's main city is Odense, which is connected to the sea by a seldom-used canal. The city's shipyard, Odense Steel Shipyard, has been relocated outside Odense proper. Funen belongs administratively to the Region of Southern Denmark. From 1970 to 2006 the island formed the biggest part of Funen County, which also included the islands of Langeland, Ærø, Tåsinge, and a number of smaller islands. Funen is linked to Zealand, Denmark's largest island, by the Great Belt Bridge, which carries both trains and cars. The bridge is in reality three bridges; low road and rail bridges connect Funen to the small island of Sprogø in the middle of the Great Belt, and a long road suspension bridge (the second longest in the world at the time of opening) connects Funen the rest of the way to Zealand, paralleled by a rail tunnel. Two bridges connect Funen to the Danish mainland, Jutland. The Old Little Belt Bridge was constructed in the 1930s, shortly before World War II for both cars and trains. The New Little Belt Bridge, a suspension bridge, was constructed in the 1970s and is used for cars only. Apart from the main city, Odense, all major towns are located in coastal areas. Beginning in the north-east of the island and moving clockwise, they are Kerteminde (NE), Nyborg (E), Svendborg (S), Fåborg (SW), Assens (W), Middelfart (NW) and Bogense (N). The populations of the major cities and towns are, as of 1 January 2018: Odense: 178,210 Svendborg: 27,324 Nyborg: 17,164 Middelfart: 15,246 Fåborg: 7,065 Assens: 6,209 Kerteminde: 5,914 Ringe: 5,912 Otterup: 5,227 Bogense: 3,891Funen was the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, the composer Carl Nielsen, American War of Independence combatant Christian Febiger, pop singer MØ and international footballer Christian Eriksen. The highest natural point on Funen is Frøbjerg Bavnehøj.

Maderup Mølle is a smock mill originally built in Maderup, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south-west of Bogense, on the island of Funen in Denmark. It was constructed in 1832 and operated as a grain mill until the mid-1930s.The building was dismantled in 1941 and moved to The Funen Village, an open-air museum in Odense, where it now stands.The windmill is built to an octagonal design. The upper part is reed-thatched, and the cap is thatched with straw.

Årslev municipality (Danish: Årslev Kommune) is a former municipality (Danish, kommune) in the island of Funen in central Denmark. It merged into Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality on 1 January 2007. The former municipality covered an area of 74 square kilometres (29 sq mi), and had a total population of 9,365 (2005). It belonged to Funen County and its last mayor was Hans Jørgensen, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Årslev. Neighboring municipalities were Ullerslev and Langeskov to the east, Odense to the north, Broby to the west, and Ringe and Ørbæk to the south. Årslev municipality ceased to exist on 1 January 2007 as a result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007) in which it merged with Broby, Faaborg, Ringe, and Ryslinge municipalities, forming a new Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 638 km2 (246 sq mi) and a total population of 51,144 (2005). The new municipality belongs to the new Region of Southern Denmark.

Dyrup is a community and suburb of Odense, Denmark, along the green Odense River valley. Before the 1950s, Dyrup had approximately 700 inhabitants, was mostly rural and part of Sanderum municipality and parish. It is mentioned in 1497 as "Dyroppe", but is significantly older and shares its name with old Dyrupgård. Today, Dyrup has approximately 4,500 inhabitants, is part of Odense Municipality and has its own church. Dyrup consists of bungalows, villas and some semis built from the late 1960s until today. Most children in Dyrup attend Højmeskolen, which has adjacent swimming and indoor sports centres, football pitches, etc. To the west is an active commercial district. Also Manchester United Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard was born here

The University Library of Southern Denmark (Danish: Syddansk Universitetsbibliotek, abbr. SDUB) is a library network in Denmark. It acts as a knowledge center for the entire region of Southern Denmark, with departments in six cities. Researchers and students at the University of Southern Denmark are its primary users, but companies, organizations and educational institutions, such as upper secondary schools, are also among its users.

The University of Southern Denmark (Danish: Syddansk Universitet, lit. 'South Danish University', abbr. SDU) is a university in Denmark that has campuses located in Southern Denmark and on Zealand. The university offers a number of joint programmes in co-operation with the University of Flensburg and the University of Kiel. Contacts with regional industries and the international scientific community are strong. With its 29,674 enrolled students (as of 2016), the university is both the third-largest and, given its roots in Odense University, the third-oldest Danish university (fourth if one includes the Technical University of Denmark). Since the introduction of the ranking systems in 2012, the University of Southern Denmark has been ranked between 36th (2012 ), 38th (2013 ), 37th (2014), and 44th (2015 ) in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in the Top 100 Universities Under 50 List. It is also one of the Top 50 Universities Under 50 according to QS World University Rankings from 2012-2015.
