The Funen Village

Maderup Mølle is a smock mill originally built in Maderup, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south-west of Bogense, on the island of Funen in Denmark. It was constructed in 1832 and operated as a grain mill until the mid-1930s.The building was dismantled in 1941 and moved to The Funen Village, an open-air museum in Odense, where it now stands.The windmill is built to an octagonal design. The upper part is reed-thatched, and the cap is thatched with straw.

Odense Zoo is a zoological garden in Odense, Denmark. At the time of its opening in 1930, the zoo had two apes, a peacock, a deer, a mule, magpies, and guinea pigs. Today, the zoo has animals from all over the world, covering around 100 species such as chimpanzee, monkeys, ring-tailed lemur, Siberian tiger, Grévy's zebra, giraffe, red panda, West Indian manatee, ostrich, penguins, pink-backed pelican, greater flamingo, macaws and Aldabra giant tortoise. In 2001, Odense Zoo inaugurated a DKK 60 million "Oceanium" featuring South American animal life, ranging from the Amazon Rainforest to Antarctica. In 2008, Odense Zoo was Funen's most popular tourist attraction and number 9 in Denmark, and in 2013 it received the "Best in Europe" award in its category (zoos with up to 500,000 visitors per year). The visitor record was set in the first year of the "Oceanium" when the zoo received 439,533 visitors.

UCL University College Lillebaelt (Danish: UCL Erhvervsakademi og Professionshøjskole) is one of the six regional university colleges in Denmark (Danish: professionshøjskoler) offering Bachelor courses in the southwest part of Denmark (Funen and Jutland). It is the third-largest university college in Denmark. In total there are 10,000 registered students and 1,000 employees. Turnover is 475 million DKK annually.

Odense University Hospital (OUH) is the largest and most specialized hospital in Southern Denmark. OUH is both Odense's and Funen's largest single workplace (Odense Municipality employs significantly more, but they are spread over many addresses). It has a budget of 835 million Euro and has 11.000 employees.OUH acts as a local and acute hospital in the northern part of Funen, but takes patients from all over Denmark, as it has highly specialized units within hand replantation surgery and special neuro-radiological intervention. In addition to reading Driver, OUH has an extensive research activity, and annually trains 2.500 people as part of either basic or continuing education. The hospital tower block, constructed in 1960, is 57 metres (187 ft) high, has 15 floors and is Odense's tallest building. Hospital Pharmacy Fyn is located at the university hospital. From the university hospital area there is a walkway to the Odense Sygehus Station operated by Svendborgbanen. OUH has for several years had the organizational Middelfart Hospital under it, but since 2008 also the former hospitals under the organizational name Funen Hospital, which are the County of Funen's smaller hospitals, became part of OUH. This concerns Svendborg Hospital, Dagklinik Faaborg, Hospital Unit Nyborg, Hospital Unit Ringe and Hospital Unit Aero.

Ansgars Church (Danish: Ansgars Kirke) is a church in Odense, Denmark, within the Diocese of Funen. Completed in 1902, it was the first church built in the city since the Middle Ages. The church was designed by Niels Jacobsen in a late Romanesque style from red brick, and built on granite foundation. Its features include a cross-shaped interior and a spired bell-tower measuring 45 metres (148 ft). There are three mural paintings inside the church: the 1902 work is a decoration on vault rubs, the 1917 frescoes are in the parish hall, and the 1935–1936 frescoes on the altar's niche.

Nonnebakken (literally, "The Nun Hill") is a hill in Odense, Denmark. It is the site of one of Denmark's six former Viking ring castles, built during the reign of Sweyn Forkbeard, who had forced his father Harold Bluetooth to leave the country and seek refuge with the Jomsvikings on Wollin (modern Poland) around 975. The fort enabled its occupier to control the Odense River passing next to the hill. The name refers to a Benedictine nunnery located here in earlier times. At the end of the 12th century, the nuns left the site to build a new church in Dalum to the southeast, now a suburb of Odense. The earthwork ramparts can be recognized in the "panorama of Odense" in the medieval tome Civitates Orbis Terrarum from Georg Braun and Frans Hogenberg. The panorama appears as plate 30 in Volume 5, finished in 1598. Plate 30 was engraved in 1593, based on information from Heinrich Rantzau or from sketches he gave in order. It also appears on the panorama of Odense published by Braunius in 1593. The archaeological remains of Nonnebakken took heavy damage during the late 19th century, when a building for the Odd Fellow lodge was constructed on the site. In the 20th century, scientific excavations led by Fyns Stiftsmuseum revealed that the circular castle had an inner diameter of 120 m and was built in the years 980-1000, similar to the other Viking ring castles.

Teater Momentum is a small theatre in Odense, Denmark.Its location is at Ny Vestergade 18. The theatre itself was established in 2005 and it only features shows which are under the branch of modern drama. Teater Momentum receives public funding from the municipality of Odense and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The structure of the theatre is special as every season is different from the preceding one. Every new season, a new team of actors and an artistic director will take over the production of the plays shown at the theatre. Furthermore, the ensemble have to fulfill some goals set forth by the theatre's Artistic Committee. This type of theatre was established with the season of 2007/2008 called Volume 1.

St. Canute's Abbey, Odense (Danish: Skt Knuds Kloster), a Benedictine monastery, was built to support the pilgrimage centre for the relics of the royal Danish martyr Saint Canute (died 1086), and was the successor to the priory of St. Mary and St. Alban, Denmark's earliest monastic house. Located in Odense, it was the island of Funen's most important medieval religious institution.

St. Canute's Cathedral (Danish: Odense Domkirke or Sankt Knuds Kirke), also known as Odense Cathedral, is named after the Danish king Canute the Saint (Danish: Knud den Hellige), otherwise Canute IV. It is a fine example of Brick Gothic architecture. The church's most visited section is the crypt where the remains of Canute and his brother Benedict are on display.

Funen Art Academy (Danish: Det Fynske Kunstakademi) is an independent, nationally recognized educational institution located in central Odense, Denmark offering a 5-year programme in contemporary visual arts. The academy is funded jointly by the Danish Ministry of Culture, the municipality of Odense, and private foundations and sponsors.
