Billesdon is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England, with a population of 745 according to the 2001 census, increasing to 901 at the 2011 census. It is just off the A47, nine miles east of Leicester. The Billesdon bypass opened in October 1986. Nearby places include Houghton on the Hill, Skeffington, Tilton on the Hill, and Gaulby. The Billesdon Brook flows through the village. Billesdon was formerly the seat of Billesdon Rural District, which was merged into the Harborough district in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972.

Billesdon was a rural district of Leicestershire, England. It originated with the Billesdon Poor Law Union, formed in 1835. In 1894 the area became a rural district. It was named for the village of Billesdon. In 1935 the rural district was decreased by the annexing of Humberstone, most of Evington, and some of Thurnby civil parishes to Leicester (with some small parts going to Oadby in 1936). It was further reduced in 1966 by the annexation of part of Scraptoft, Stoughton and Thurnby parishes. In 1974 it became part of the Harborough non-metropolitan district, along with the Lutterworth Rural District, Market Harborough Rural District, and Market Harborough urban districts.

Rolleston is a parish and estate village near Billesdon in Leicestershire, England, and part of Harborough district. The population of the village is included in the civil parish of Skeffington.

Frisby is a hamlet and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire that lies approximately 7.3 miles (11.7 km) southeast of the city of Leicester, that is now largely a deserted medieval village. According to the University of Nottingham English Place-names project, the settlement name Frisby could mean 'farm/settlement of the Frisians'. The 2011 census for Frisby returned 5 houses and 16 residents. Often termed as Frisby by Gaulby (so as not to be confused with the nearby village of Frisby on the Wreake), the modern hamlet is situated between the village of Gaulby 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southwest and Billesdon 1.94 miles (3.12 km) to the northeast. The deserted part of the ancient hamlet is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and can be located on the eastern side of the lane that leads down the hill from Gaulby Road, via Frisby House on a south-eastwards direction. The earthwork "tofts & crofts" are still visible today, with foundations for two stone built buildings noted towards the center of the site (grid reference SK 70547 01602).

Skeffington Hall is a 15th-century Manor House which stands in parkland off the main street of the village of Skeffington, Leicestershire, England. It is a Grade II* listed building and is privately owned.The house was originally constructed in about 1450 and extended c1530 and again in the early or mid 17th century. It is built to an H-shaped plan in two storeys of coursed ironstone rubble with white limestone ashlar dressings and Swithland slate roofs. The main frontage, dating from the 17th century, has eight bays with a central projecting porch. A castellated parapet runs between projecting gables at each end. In the 16th century the house was the birthplace of Thomas Skevington, Bishop of Bangor and Sir William Skeffington, Lord Deputy of Ireland. It was later owned by William Farrell, whose son Sir William Farrell-Skeffington, 1st Baronet, an officer in the British Army, adopted the Skeffington surname and sold the Hall to the Tailby family just before his death in 1815. William Ward Tailby (1825-1914) was an avid huntsman and established his own pack of foxhounds at the hall in 1856 which became the Fernie Hunt. He was succeeded in turn by his nephew, T.M.J. Tailby (1862–1916) and George William A. Tailby (born 1893). Sir Richard Sutton, 2nd Baronet and a Master of the Quorn Hunt also resided at the Hall.

Skeffington is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It lies 11 miles/18 km east of Leicester on the A47 Uppingham road, between Billesdon and Tugby and Keythorpe. The population at the 2011 census (including Rolleston) was 223.

Illston on the Hill is a small village and parish seven miles north of Market Harborough in the county of Leicestershire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census (including Carlton Curlieu) was 179. The old part of Illston is a rare "dead end" village: literally, at the end of the road which leads to it. Illston has a small but thriving pub, drawing trade from several miles around, serving Everard's beers. The pub's walls are crowded with an eclectic array of rural memorabilia including mounted fox heads, stuffed animals and historic gin traps, as well as a number of cartoons by local resident Ed McLachlan (Private Eye, Punch, etc.). Illston also has a village hall available for rent. In the summer it hosts events including a Village Fete and 'Onion Sunday'.

Cold Newton is a small hamlet and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It is situated about two miles from Tilton on the Hill and two miles north of Billesdon. Some 700 feet (210 m) above sea level, it overlooks the Wreake valley. Any population remaining is listed in the civil parish of Lowesby.

Tilton on the Hill is a village and (as just Tilton) a former civil parish, now in the parish of Tilton on the Hill and Halstead in the Harborough district of Leicestershire. The population of the civil parish of Tilton on the Hill and Halstead at the 2011 census was 601. It lies 2 miles north of the A47, on the B6047 to Melton Mowbray. Halstead civil parish (grid reference SK750056) was merged with Tilton on 1 April 1935, while the deserted medieval village of Whatborough (SK772059) was merged in on 1 April 1994. Marefield remains a separate civil parish, but is part of the Tilton Electoral Ward. In 1931 the parish of Tilton (prior to the merges) had a population of 152. St Peter's Tilton, the Parish Church is in the parish of Halstead, as is the vicarage. Tilton on the Hill is one of the highest places in East Leicestershire at 719 feet (219 m) above sea level, with the Mill House standing at the highest point. Whatborough is the highest summit in the eastern half of the county. The centre of the village was designated a Conservation Area in 1975, with the boundaries updated in 1994 and 2005.In 2009, the village was named as the "Best Village in Leicestershire" in the Calor Village of the Year competition and also won Calor "Sustainability Village of the Year" for the Midlands.Tilton is represented in cricket by Tilton and Lowesby CC. Rob Welsh is currently the captain.

Quenby Hall is a Jacobean house in parkland near the villages of Cold Newton and Hungarton, Leicestershire, England. It is described by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as "the most important early-seventeenth century house in the county [of Leicestershire]". The Hall is Grade I listed, and the park and gardens Grade II, by English Heritage.

Gaulby (or Galby) is a village in Leicestershire, England, 7 miles east of the city of Leicester. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 131, (including Frisby). The 2011 census for Gaulby returned 52 houses and 141 residents.

Noseley is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. The civil parish population at the 2011 census was 204.The name derives from the Old English NOTHWULF (male personal name) and LEAH (woodland clearing). It was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, at which time it had a population of 28. The village was gradually depopulated in the 16th century, due to enclosure and the conversion of the land to pastoral farming. By 1811, the population had dropped to just 2. In 2004 the parish had an estimated population of 40.Noseley Hall was rebuilt in the early 18th century by Sir Robert Hazlerigg (d.1721); the Hazlerigg family have held the manor continuously since around 1435. The hall is a Grade II* listed building. Family members included the Parliamentarian, Sir Arthur Hesilrige, who was one of the five Members of Parliament whom Charles I unsuccessfully sought to arrest, one of the incidents which led up to the English Civil War.The original church in Noseley fell into disrepair and by around 1549 had been demolished. The chapel at Noseley Hall is now used as a church.
