The Monument to Victor Emmanuel II , known by the Venetians simply as the monument, is a equestrian statue made in 1887 by the Roman sculptor Ettore Ferrari located in Riva degli Schiavoni, in Castello, Venice, Italy. The bronze statue was made in 1887, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of Vittorio Emanuele II (1820-1878), first king of the Kingdom of Italy.

The Ospedale della Pietà was a convent, orphanage, and music school in Venice. Like other Venetian ospedali, the Pietà was first established as a hospice for the needy. A group of Venetian nuns, called the Consorelle di Santa Maria dell’Umiltà, established this charitable institution for orphans and abandoned girls in the fourteenth century. By the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the Pietà – along with the three other charitable Ospedali Grandi – was well known for its all-female musical ensembles that attracted tourists and patrons from around Europe.

The Palazzo Zorzi Galeoni or Palazzo Zorzi a Rio San Severo is a Renaissance style palace of the Zorzi family (also spelled Giorgi)in the Sestiere of Castello, number 4930, in central Venice, Italy; it was designed after 1480 by Mauro Codussi. It lies a few streets away from Santa Maria Formosa, also designed by Codussi. There are a number of Zorzi palaces in Venice, including the Palazzo Zorzi Liassidi and Palazzo Zorzi Bon. The Zorzi Galeoni in 2018 houses the offices of UNESCO in Venice. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture.

Hotel Danieli, formerly Palazzo Dandolo, is a five-star palatial hotel in Venice, Italy. It was built at the end of the 14th century by one of the Dandolo families. CNN cites it as one of the top five "lavish hotels" in the city.

The Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice (Italian: Istituto Ellenico di Studi Bizantini e Postbizantini di Venezia, Greek: Ελληνικό Ινστιτούτο Βυζαντινών και Μεταβυζαντινών Σπουδών στη Βενετία) is a research centre owned and funded by the Greek state in Venice, Italy, focusing on Byzantine and Post-Byzantine/Modern Greek studies. It is the only Greek research institute abroad. The institute was founded in 1951, and operates under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with its educational activity coordinated by the Greek Ministry of Education. The Institute owns several buildings associated with the formerly vibrant Greek community of Venice, most notably the church of San Giorgio dei Greci and the Flanginian School. It also operates its own museum and archive, which house a collection of 300 icons and numerous manuscripts, most notably a copy of the Romance of Alexander the Great.

San Giorgio dei Greci (Greek: Ἅγιος Γεώργιος τῶν Ἑλλήνων, romanized: ´Agios Geórgios ton Ellínon, lit. 'Saint George of the Greeks') is a church in the sestiere (neighborhood) of Castello, Venice, northern Italy. It was the center of the Scuola dei Greci, the Confraternity of the Greeks in Venice. Around this period there was a similar church in Naples called Santi Pietro e Paolo dei Greci. There was also a Greek Brotherhood of Naples. For centuries, despite the close ties of Venice to the Byzantine world (Venice has been part of the Byzantine Empire), the Greek Orthodox rite was not permitted in Venice. In 1498, the Greek community in Venice gained the right to found the Scuola de San Nicolò dei Greci, a confraternity which aided members of that community. In 1539, after protracted negotiations, the papacy allowed the construction of the church of San Giorgio, financed by a tax on all ships from the Orthodox world. Construction was started by Sante Lombardo, and from 1548, by Giannantonio Chiona. The belltower was built in 1592. The interior has a monument to Gabriele Seviros (1619) by Baldassarre Longhena. The dome of the church was frescoed with the Last Judgement (1589–93) by Giovanni Kyprios. Other artists who completed work for the church were Markos Bathas, Thomas Bathas, Venediktos Emporios, and Michael Damaskinos. Emanuele Tzane-Buniales, a priest and hagiographer from Crete. Tzanes frescoed the Saints Simeon and Alypios, ascetic hermits, atop the pilasters. Other famous Greek artists associated with the church were: Konstantinos Tzanes, Philotheos Skoufos, Ioannis Moskos, Leos Moskos and Emmanuel Tzanfournaris. Amongst the treasures in this church are three icons which Anna Notaras, daughter of Loukas Notaras, the last megas doux of the Byzantine Empire, brought with her to Italy before 1453, and she later gave to the Scuola de San Nicolò dei Greci in trust for when a church observing the Greek Orthodox faith could be constructed. These icons comprise: one of Christ in His glory surrounded by symbols of the four Evangelists and figures of the 12 Apostles; another of Christ Pantokrator; and the third is an image of the Virgin Hodegetria.Near the church lies the Flanginian School, a Greek teachers' school, which today houses the Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice. The Museum was established by Sophia Antoniadis.

The Riva degli Schiavoni is a waterfront area in Venice, Italy. There is a lively—albeit often overcrowded—promenade along the waterfront, which sits on St. Mark's Basin. It was originally built in the ninth century from dredged silt and was named for the Slavic men who brought cargo to Venice from across the Adriatic Sea. Many of the boats and launches that ferry tourists from the mainland and cruise ships stop at the Riva to allow passengers to disembark close to Piazza San Marco. There are other landmarks named after the early Slav merchants such as Palazzo Schiavoni, Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, and a naval detachment of oltremarini, a mercenary group of Slavs either from the Montenegrin or Dalmatian litoral who as uskoks decided to join the Republic of Venice and fight a common enemy in the Candian Wars. Also, today Schiavone is a common Italian surname. In Italian schiavona is a basket-hilted sword.

The Palazzo Grimani of Santa Maria Formosa is a State museum, located in Venice in the Castello district, near Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

Ponte della Paglia is a bridge in Venice, Italy. The current structure dates from 1847, and the original structure was built in 1360. The original structure was the oldest stone bridge in Venice. The name of the bridge is understood to come from boats mooring nearby to offload straw (paglia). The bridge is a common place from which to view the Bridge of Sighs.

The Palazzo Donà-Ottobon is a palace located at Calle della Madonna on the Fondamenta di San Severo, corner with Calle Larga San Lorenzo, in the Sestiere of Castello in Venice, Italy. The remains of this Venetian Gothic palace are a small corner facade, alongside a canal, with two and a half walled-up gothic arcades in the piano nobile. The portal has an equally awkward marble relief of the Virgin with St Francis, St Claire de Montefalco, and a donor of reduced size. Earlier authors do not mention this portal.
