St Peter's Church, Arnesby

Arnesby is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. Arnesby contains approximately 142 households with a population of about 357 (2011 census). The village is situated 8 miles (13 km) south-east of Leicester, on the Welford Road, between Kilby and Shearsby. The village's name means 'farm/settlement of Iarund or Erendi'. St Peter's Church, Arnesby dates from the early 12th century. The village also has a Baptist church which dates from the early 18th century. The Rev. Robert Hall was born at Arnesby in 1764 and lived at the Old Manse next door to the chapel where his father, Robert Hall, was pastor of the Baptist congregation. There is a Church of England primary school, a village hall and, since 2004, an Indian restaurant 'Little India' in a building formerly occupied by the Olde Cock Inn. Also in the area is a tank hangar which houses a large private collection of armoured fighting vehicles and artillery.

Post town, Wigston, under Leicester. Acres, 1, 060. Real property, £2, 200. Pop., 362. Houses, 95. The property is divided among a few. Framework knitting is carried on. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Peterborough. Value, £63. Patron, Sir H. Halford, Bart. The church is plain and good, with a very low tower. There is an Independent chapel."

Bruntingthorpe is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. According to the census in 2001 the parish had a population of 398. The parish also includes the hamlet of Upper Bruntingthorpe. The population at the 2011 census had increased to 425. the village contains a pub called the plough, a restaurant called the joiners and a garage called bruntingthorpe motor engineers.The former RAF Bruntingthorpe is now Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome.

Peatling Parva is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district, south Leicestershire, England. It lies 2.6 km west-north-west of Ashby Magna and 2.9 km south-south-west of Peatling Magna. The village is recorded in the Domesday Book from 1086 and was known as Alia Petlinge with listed landowners Howard, from Hugh de Grandmesnil, and Leofric, from Adelaide wife of Hugh de Grandmensil.The population was recorded as 159 in the 1841 census and 181 in the census of 2001. A village church, St Andrews Church, is part of the Diocese of Leicester of the Church of England. The village also has a public house, The Shires Inn. A village hall was built in 1989 and holds local meetings of the Parish Council. Fleckney is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. It is situated 2.5 miles (4 km) west of the A6 national route between Market Harborough and Leicester. The village appeared in the Domesday Book and remained a small farming community until the 19th century, which saw development of industry: initially bricks and later hosiery. The historic village centre is a hub of amenities for the mostly rural local area.

Wistow Hall is a 17th-century country house in Wistow, Leicestershire, England which has been converted into an apartment building. It is Grade II* listed.The Hall was built to an H-plan of rendered brick with a Swithland slate hipped roof. It has a seven window frontage with two storeys of sash windows and a row of dormer windows in the roof behind a parapet. At each corner are turret buttresses.

The settlement name Foston means "Fotr's farm/settlement": "Fotr" is an Old Norse personal name, and "tūn" in Old English means an enclosure, farmstead, village or estate. In 1931 the parish of Foston had a population of 36. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Kilby.
