College of DuPage is a public community college with its main campus in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The college also owns and operates satellite campuses in Addison, Carol Stream, Naperville and Westmont. With more than 20,000 students, the College of DuPage is the second largest provider of undergraduate education in Illinois, after University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The college serves students residing in Illinois' Community College District 502.

WDCB (90.9 MHz is a non-commercial public FM radio station licensed to Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and serving the Chicago metropolitan area. It largely airs jazz programming and is owned by the College of DuPage. Most shows are locally-hosted but some select programs come from National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Radio Exchange (PRX). WDCB is listener-supported and seeks donations on the air and on its website. Funding also comes from grants and corporate sponsorships. The studios are on Fawell Boulevard on the DuPage campus. WDCB has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 5,000 watts. The transmitter is off Fawell Boulevard at Briarcliff Boulevard in Wheaton. Programming can be heard on CAN TV channel 42 in Chicago. It is also simulcast on WRTE 90.7 FM on Chicago's west side.

Glenbard South High School (GSHS) is a public four-year high school located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, United States. It is part of Glenbard Township High School District 87, and is the smallest of the four Glenbard Township High Schools. It contains students within the boundary of Community Consolidated School District 89.

The Village Links of Glen Ellyn is a public golf course located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Founded in 1967, it was the first publicly owned 18-hole golf course in DuPage County, Illinois. It has long been recognized as one of the top golf courses in the Chicago area. It was the host course for the PGA Tour's Western Open General Qualifying virtually every year from 1980 through 2006. It has hosted other high level golf events including the 1986 Illinois Open and multiple State Match Play Championships. It has hosted the 36-hole U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying five times (1985, 1991, 1995, 2005 and 2012). In 2005 it was the only golf course in the United States to host both a PGA Tour event qualifying and a U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying in the same season. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn has long been one of the leading golf courses in the United States in promoting environmental friendly management. It was the first public golf course in the world to become fully certified as a Wildlife Sanctuary by Audubon International. Golf Course Superintendent Timothy Kelly was recognized as the National Public Golf Course Environmental Steward of the Year three consecutive years in the 1990s. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn was one of the first golf courses to develop and implement a pace of play program. Its KEEP PACE program, created in 1979, is arguably the most successful program of its kind and has been adopted by hundreds of courses nationwide in some form or another. KEEP PACE encourages golfers to maintain their position with the group ahead, while traditional efforts focused on not slowing down the golfers in the group behind. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn has both a 9-hole course and an 18-hole course. The 18-hole course was extensively renovated in 2004. The golf course architect for that renovation, Garrett Gill of River Falls, Wisconsin, is the son of the Village Links original architect David Gill of St. Charles, Illinois. In 2013 the golf course clubhouse was expanded and a new restaurant and bar, Reserve 22, opened. Reserve 22 features a full-service restaurant and bar, and a 150-seat banquet facility.

DuPage County ( doo-PAYJ) is a county in the U.S. state of Illinois, and one of the collar counties of the Chicago metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 932,877, making it Illinois' second-most populous county. Its county seat is Wheaton.Known for its vast tallgrass prairies, DuPage County has become mostly developed and suburbanized, although some pockets of farmland remain in the county's western and northern parts. The George Baker House is a historic residence in unincorporated Milton Township near Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The Greek Revival house features a limestone exterior on a stone foundation, and an asphalt roof. It was constructed for and designed by George Baker in 1847. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Milton Township is one of nine townships in DuPage County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 120,237 and it contained 46,254 housing units.

The Morton Arboretum, in Lisle, Illinois, United States, is a public garden and outdoor museum with a library, herbarium, and program in tree research including the Center for Tree Science. Its grounds, covering 1,700 acres (6.9 square kilometres), include cataloged collections of trees and other living plants, gardens, and restored areas, among which is a restored tallgrass prairie. The living collections include more than 4,100 different plant species. There are more than 200,000 cataloged plants.As a place of recreation, the Arboretum has hiking trails, roadways for driving and bicycling, a 4-acre (16,000 m2) interactive children's garden and a 1-acre (4,000 m2) maze. The Schulenberg Prairie at the Arboretum was one of the earliest prairie restoration projects in the Midwest, begun in 1962. It is one of the largest restored prairies in the Chicago suburban area. Three dozen cuttings from the old burr oak that had been in Lincoln Park Zoo will be grafted onto rootstocks at the Arboretum.The Arboretum offers an extensive nature-centered education program for children, families, school groups, scouts, and adults, including tree and restoration professionals. The Natural Areas Conservation Training (N-ACT) Program offers classroom and online courses in ecological restoration techniques. The Arboretum also offers credit courses through the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area, a regional consortium.

Area codes 630 and 331 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for portions of Chicago's near and far western suburbs, including the majority of DuPage County, Illinois. To the northwest, the numbering plan area (NPA) also includes a small portion of Cook County, including parts of Schaumburg, Streamwood and Hanover Park. To the west, Kane County is divided between area codes 847 and 224 in the north, including Elgin, and area codes 630 and 331 in the south, including Aurora. To the south, the northern part of Will County and a small part of southern Cook County, including the village of Burr Ridge and parts of the village of Lemont, are also included in the 630 and 331 area codes. To the southwest, the city of Yorkville, in exurban Kendall County, is included, as well. Area code 630 is the parent area code of the numbering plan area, created in a three-way area code split of area code 708 on August 3, 1996, with the southern suburbs keeping 708 and the northern suburbs receiving 847. Within a decade, 630 was close to exhaustion due to the growth of the Chicago suburbs and the proliferation of cell phones and pagers. College Avenue is one of two stations on Metra's Union Pacific West Line located in Wheaton, Illinois. The station is located at 303 North President Street, and lies next to Wheaton College. The station is located 23.8 miles (38.3 km) away from Ogilvie Transportation Center, the eastern terminus of the West Line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, College Avenue is in zone E. As of 2018, College Avenue is the 47th busiest of the 236 non-downtown stations in the Metra system, with an average of 1,059 weekday boardings. Unless otherwise announced, inbound trains use the north platform and outbound trains use the south platform. As of May 30, 2023, College Avenue is served by 54 trains (28 inbound, 26 outbound) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. College Avenue station is located at ground level and consists of two side platforms. Three tracks run between the platforms, though one does not access the station. There is a station house next to the inbound (north) track, which is open 24 hours. Tickets are available at the station house on weekdays. The Illinois Prairie Path runs along the south edge of the complex.

Glen Ellyn is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. A suburb located 24 miles (39 km) due west of downtown Chicago, the village has a population of 28,846 as of the 2020 Census.
