The Glen Ellyn Downtown South Historic District is a historic commercial district in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, United States. Most of the district's growth dates from the 1920s. The architecture reflects several trends in the first half of the 20th century.

Glen Ellyn is a station on Metra's Union Pacific West Line, located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The station is located at 551 Crescent Boulevard in Glen Ellyn. The station is located 22.4 miles (36.0 km) away from Ogilvie Transportation Center, the eastern terminus of the West Line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Glen Ellyn is in zone E. As of 2018, Glen Ellyn is the ninth busiest of the 236 non-downtown stations in the Metra system, with an average of 1,929 weekday boardings. Unless otherwise announced, inbound trains use the north platform and outbound trains use the south platform. The middle track does not have platform access. As of May 30, 2023, Glen Ellyn is served by all 58 trains (29 in each direction) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Glen Ellyn station is located at ground level and consists of two side platforms. Three tracks run between the platforms, though one does not access the station. There is a station house next to the inbound (north) track, which is open from 5:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tickets are available at the station house on weekdays. The Illinois Prairie Path runs along the south edge of the complex, running in the former Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railroad right-of-way.

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and consists of Glenbard South, Glenbard North, Glenbard East, and Glenbard West high schools. The term Glenbard is a portmanteau of Glen Ellyn and Lombard, the two predominant towns of the district.

The Glen Ellyn Downtown North Historic District is a historic business district in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, United States. It is found on Main Street between Crescent Boulevard & Pennsylvania Avenue, the north side of Crescent between Main & Forest Avenue and the south side of Pennsylvania between Main and Glenwood Avenue. There are thirty-four buildings in the district, twenty-eight of which contribute to its historical fabric.

Glenbard West High School is a public four-year high school located at the corner of Ellyn Avenue and Crescent Boulevard in Glen Ellyn, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Glenbard Township High School District 87. The West campus draws students from Glen Ellyn (primarily north of Illinois Route 38), a small portion of Lombard, and portions of Wheaton, Glendale Heights and Carol Stream.

The Glen Ellyn Main Street Historic District is a set of eleven buildings in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The houses were built between 1874 and 1890 when the village was known as Prospect Park. The swampy setting of the village began to gain a reputation as a retreat away from the city, and by 1882 the village was large enough for incorporation. Wealthy businessmen built homes along the main stretch of the village in what would become the historical district. In the mid-1880s, a river was dammed, creating Lake Glen Ellyn, spurring the new name for the village.

Lake Ellyn Park is a 28.7-acre (11.6 ha) public park located at 645 Lenox Road in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The park is centered around Lake Ellyn, an artificial lake created for the Hotel Glen Ellyn in 1889. The hotel burned down in 1906, and Glen Ellyn citizens proposed turning the land into a public park; however, as Glen Ellyn did not have a park district, it lacked the legal authority to buy the land. The city's residents voted to create a park district in 1919, and the new district bought the land and added park facilities in the early 1920s.The park's main building is the Lake Ellyn Recreation House, which was built in 1937. Designed by Frederick G. Walker and built with the help of the Works Progress Administration, the building features a large recreation space with a fireplace and views of the lake. In 1968, the landscaped Ruth Candy Parkway and the Perry Nature Preserve were added to the park; both were preexisting Park District properties that bordered the park.The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 7, 2017.

The Alfred A. Schiller House was a historic residence in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. It was originally designed by Schweikher & Elting for Alfred Schiller, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The house featured very few exterior windows, with the only natural light coming in from a central atrium. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, and was demolished in 2016.

Stacy's Tavern is a historic wayside stagecoach inn in the village of Glen Ellyn in DuPage County, Illinois. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 29, 1974.

The Village Links of Glen Ellyn is a public golf course located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Founded in 1967, it was the first publicly owned 18-hole golf course in DuPage County, Illinois. It has long been recognized as one of the top golf courses in the Chicago area. It was the host course for the PGA Tour's Western Open General Qualifying virtually every year from 1980 through 2006. It has hosted other high level golf events including the 1986 Illinois Open and multiple State Match Play Championships. It has hosted the 36-hole U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying five times (1985, 1991, 1995, 2005 and 2012). In 2005 it was the only golf course in the United States to host both a PGA Tour event qualifying and a U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying in the same season. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn has long been one of the leading golf courses in the United States in promoting environmental friendly management. It was the first public golf course in the world to become fully certified as a Wildlife Sanctuary by Audubon International. Golf Course Superintendent Timothy Kelly was recognized as the National Public Golf Course Environmental Steward of the Year three consecutive years in the 1990s. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn was one of the first golf courses to develop and implement a pace of play program. Its KEEP PACE program, created in 1979, is arguably the most successful program of its kind and has been adopted by hundreds of courses nationwide in some form or another. KEEP PACE encourages golfers to maintain their position with the group ahead, while traditional efforts focused on not slowing down the golfers in the group behind. The Village Links of Glen Ellyn has both a 9-hole course and an 18-hole course. The 18-hole course was extensively renovated in 2004. The golf course architect for that renovation, Garrett Gill of River Falls, Wisconsin, is the son of the Village Links original architect David Gill of St. Charles, Illinois. In 2013 the golf course clubhouse was expanded and a new restaurant and bar, Reserve 22, opened. Reserve 22 features a full-service restaurant and bar, and a 150-seat banquet facility.

Hadley Junior High is located in Glen Ellyn, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Named for former school superintendent, William M. Hadley, the school is the main middle school that feeds into Glenbard West High School and is the only middle school in District 41, which is made up of Hadley and four elementary schools: Benjamin Franklin, Lincoln, Churchill, and Forest Glen.
