The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) is a non-profit education and advocacy organization devoted to issues surrounding dyslexia. Its headquarters are located in Pikesville, Maryland, United States.The International Dyslexia Association serves individuals with dyslexia, their families, and professionals in the field. It has 9,000 members and it operates with more than 40 branches throughout the United States and Canada, and has global partners in twenty-one countries. IDA has an all-volunteer Board of Directors. The IDA provides information about dyslexia on its website, publishes a peer-reviewed scientific journal (Annals of Dyslexia), publishes newsletter updates to members; provides referral services to individuals and professionals; advocates for the rights of individuals with dyslexia through the legal and Federal legislative systems. IDA is working to match increasing demand for teacher training and teacher preparation aligned with the IDA Knowledge & Practice standards. The IDA provides peer reviewed Fact Sheets and access to regional experts that together help support grassroots state and regional educational and advocacy efforts. The International Dyslexia Association was originally founded as the Orton Dyslexia Society, named after Samuel Orton, an American physician who pioneered the study of learning disabilities and examined the causes and treatment of dyslexia.

WBJC (91.5 FM) is a non-commercial, public radio station licensed to Baltimore, Maryland. The station is owned by Baltimore City Community College and it airs a classical music radio format. WBJC holds periodic fundraisers on the air to pay for the station's expenses. The radio studios and offices are on Reisterstown Road in Baltimore. WBJC has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts, the maximum for most stations in Maryland. Its transmitter tower is off Reisterstown Road at Interstate 695 in Pikesville, Maryland, at (39°23′11.0″N 76°43′51.0″W).

Wester Ogle is a historic home located at Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a large, Federal-influenced house constructed about 1842. It is constructed of stucco-covered stone, and stands three stories high over an excavated basement, three bays wide by one room deep. Also on the property are a 1+1⁄2-story stone-and-frame tenant house and the stone foundations of a 19th-century barn and a stable. The property upon which Wester Ogle is located has remained in the Lyon family since approximately 1745.Wester Ogle was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Beth El Congregation is a synagogue located in Pikesville, Maryland. Established in 1948, Beth El provides worship in the Conservative tradition.

Garrison is a census-designated place (CDP) in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, adjacent to Owings Mills. It consists mainly of the McDonogh area and Valley Centre. The population was 8,823 at the 2010 census.

Ner Israel Rabbinical College (ישיבת נר ישראל), also known as NIRC and Ner Yisroel, is a Haredi yeshiva (Jewish educational institution) in Pikesville, Maryland. It was founded in 1933 by Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, a disciple of Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel (the Alter of Slabodka), dean of the Slabodka yeshiva in Lithuania. Rabbi Aharon Feldman, a disciple of Rabbi Ruderman and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America, became its head in 2001. The yeshiva is an all-male Lithuanian (Litvish)-style Talmudic academy and is politically affiliated with Agudath Israel of America. The yeshiva is composed of three departments: The Mechina for high school students (Mesivta Bochurim), the yeshiva for post high school students (Beis Medrash Bochurim), and the Kollel for married students (yungerleit—literally translated as "young men"). The graduates of Ner Yisroel are known for their dedication to Torah study and communal leadership.In 2000, The New York Times described Ner Yisroel as being "unusual in that it has always allowed students access to secular, professional education." This takes place off-premises, as university-accredited night-courses, with the participation of some students.Although "Ner Israel's mission statement makes clear its priority is religious studies," the yeshiva's alumni have been estimated as 50% rabbis and religious-school teachers, and 50% as professionals: bankers, accountants, physicians, attorneys, psychologists, etc.

Chizuk Amuno Congregation (Hebrew: ק"ק חזוק אמונה) is a large Jewish house of worship affiliated with Conservative Judaism. It is located in Pikesville, Maryland. The congregation's name comes from the Hebrew "Chizzuq 'Emunah", meaning "strengthening the faith". The word "Amuno" is a variant of the Ashkenazi Hebrew pronunciation of "'Emunah".

Mettam Memorial Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church located at Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a 1+1⁄2-story gable-front stone structure measuring 30-by-40-foot (9.1 by 12.2 m) and built in 1835. It was renovated in 1965–1966 by the Pikesville Lions Club. The church sits on an acre of ground which includes a cemetery. The building is named for its first pastor, Joseph Mettam. The congregation joined with five others to found the Maryland Baptist Union Association, later the Baptist State Mission Board of Maryland.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Talmudical Academy of Baltimore or TA (Hebrew: ישיבת חפץ חיים) is a K–12 yeshiva founded in 1917. Its present campus, located at 4445 Old Court Road, includes a pre-school building, an elementary school building, a middle school building, a high school building, three gymnasiums, a dormitory, two computer labs, and two study halls which double as prayer sanctuaries.
