The Hypogeum of Sant'Iroxi (also known as the Tomb of the warriors) is an archaeological site located near the town of Decimoputzu in the province of South Sardinia.

Santa Maria is a medieval church in the comune of Uta, Sardinia, Italy. The exact date of construction is unknown, although it is generally assigned to the mid-12th century by monks from the Abbey of St. Victor in Marseille, perhaps on the ruins of a pre-existing structure. It is an example of Provençal and Tuscan Romanesque styles' influence on the local medieval architecture (at the time the area was under the influence of the Republic of Pisa). The oldest known mention of the church is in a 1363 document, by which king Peter IV of Aragon switched it from the Knights Hospitaller to the Order of Sant Jordi d'Alfama. The edifice was later held by the Franciscans, who, in the late 16th century, gave it to the archdiocese of Cagliari.

Assemini (Italian: [asˈsɛːmini]; Sardinian: Assèmini [aˈsemini]) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northwest of Cagliari in the plain of the Cixerri, Flumini Mannu and Sa Nuxedda rivers. The Cixerri (Sardinian pronunciation: [tʃiˈʒeri]) is an Italian river in southern Sardinia province of Cagliari. It springs from Monte Croccoriga, at 313 metres (1,027 ft) above sea level, in the province of South Sardinia. The river flows into a lake north of Iglesias and then exits the lake and flows eastward. The river is joined by a tributary north of Villamassargia and south of Musei before entering the province of Cagliari. The river flows past Siliqua and is joined by another tributary from the south. Finally, the river enters the Stagno di Cagliari close to the mouth of the Flumini Mannu near Assemini.

The Flumini Mannu is a river in southern Sardinia, Italy. Its springs are located in the hills east of Sardara. It flows into the Stagno di Cagliari after a course of 42.14 kilometres (26.18 mi). The river's main tributaries are the Riu Bellu and the Rio Sitzerri, which for most of the basin of Monte Linas massif's waters.

The Stagno di Santa Gilla, or Stagno di Cagliari (literally ‘Pool of Cagliari’), is a coastal lagoon at the mouths of the rivers Cixerri and Mannu near Cagliari, on the Golfo degli Angeli in southern Sardinia, Italy. It has been designated as a wetland site of international importance under the Ramsar Convention since 1976 and is ranked among the most important of such areas in the European Union.

The necropolis of Tuvixeddu (pronounced [tuviˈʒeɖːu]) is a Punic necropolis, one of the largest in the Mediterranean. It is located in a hill inside the city of Cagliari, Sardinia called Tuvixeddu (meaning "hill of the little holes" in Sardinian). Between the 6th and 3rd centuries BC the Carthaginians chose this hill to bury their dead: these burials were reached through a well dug into the limestone rock (from two to eleven meters deep), a small opening introduced to the burial chamber. The burial chambers were beautifully decorated; there were found amphorae and ampoules for the essences. Of particular interest among the Punic tombs, the "Uraeus Tomb" and the "Fighter Tomb", decorated with paintings of palm trees and masks, still well preserved. Another famous tomb is that "of the Wheel". On the slopes of the Tuvixeddu hill there is a Roman necropolis, which overlooked the road at the exit of the city. The Roman necropolis consists mainly of arcosolium tombs and columbaria. The necropolis opened to the public in May 2014, during the XVIII edition of Monumenti Aperti. The archaeological area is large, it originally consisted of an area of about 80 hectares (200 acres).

Samatzai is a town in the province of South Sardinia, located on the fringe of the Campidano in Sardinia (Italy). It is 33 km away from Cagliari. The name derives from Ancient Greek 'samax', which means "rush mat", or from the Mesopotamian god Samas. Either way, Samatzai is believed to have been inhabited since Nuragic times. The main attraction of note is the 15th-century Church of San Giovanni Battista in the town centre, built in an Aragonese-influenced Gothic style. Other churches include the 17th-century Santa Barbara and the ruined San Marco. The Monte Granitico, a former grain silo that is now a library, is known for its unusual floor plan. Samatzai's economy is mainly focused on the primary sector, despite it being home to one of Italy's most prominent cement works. Residents of the town are known as samatzesi, and the town's patron saint is John the Baptist.
