Samatzai is a town in the province of South Sardinia, located on the fringe of the Campidano in Sardinia (Italy). It is 33 km away from Cagliari. Santa Maria is a medieval church in the comune of Uta, Sardinia, Italy. The exact date of construction is unknown, although it is generally assigned to the mid-12th century by monks from the Abbey of St. Victor in Marseille, perhaps on the ruins of a pre-existing structure. It is an example of Provençal and Tuscan Romanesque styles' influence on the local medieval architecture (at the time the area was under the influence of the Republic of Pisa). The oldest known mention of the church is in a 1363 document, by which king Peter IV of Aragon switched it from the Knights Hospitaller to the Order of Sant Jordi d'Alfama. The edifice was later held by the Franciscans, who, in the late 16th century, gave it to the archdiocese of Cagliari.

The Cixerri (Sardinian pronunciation: [tʃiˈʒeri]) is an Italian river in southern Sardinia province of Cagliari. It springs from Monte Croccoriga, at 313 metres (1,027 ft) above sea level, in the province of South Sardinia. The river flows into a lake north of Iglesias and then exits the lake and flows eastward. The river is joined by a tributary north of Villamassargia and south of Musei before entering the province of Cagliari. The river flows past Siliqua and is joined by another tributary from the south. Finally, the river enters the Stagno di Cagliari close to the mouth of the Flumini Mannu near Assemini.

The Cagliari Observatory (Italian: Osservatorio Astronomico di Cagliari, or OAC) is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Italy's Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (National Institute for Astrophysics, INAF). It is located 20 km away from Cagliari in Sardinia. It was founded in 1899 to study the Earth's rotation.
